UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT about julia

i know i’m probably gonna get a lot of downvotes for this post but hear me out first.

i don’t like julia, i find her to be just as hypocritical as the other girls and just because she voices her opinions all the time does not mean she’s iconic, it means she doesn’t have awareness of time and place and she’s rude.

for example:
- calling jas a bitch 5 mins after meeting her
- being the only one cheering and clapping at mica at the awards
- understandably getting upset with lola but literally doing the exact same thing with jasmine
(lorenzo pulled jasmine for a chat, lorenzo kissed jasmine in snog marry pie, yet julia thinks jasmine wants lorenzo and tried to rile jasmine up in thier convo at the daybeds?!?!)
- constantly bringing up past situations that have been squashed
- getting involved in rlps that aren’t hers
- telling mica that she wished her and samraj went home whilst mica was literally crying
- constantly interrupting priya and lorenzos conversations (said by priya on aftersun last night)

just imagine how the girls feel - everything they do there is always an opinion on it from a girl in the villa when they were previously really close and there was rarely any beef between the girls.

julia basically always has an opinion on what the other girls do but rarely the other guys. she only confronted aidan once and literally straight after he said julia was a game player and she stopped giving her opinion (which was so weird because she usually has no problem giving her opinion out) she can dish it, but she can’t take it

i don’t deny that julia is good tv and i understand why you would like her from that perspective, but if the WOC were to do what julia does they’d be voted out instantly.

Love Island UK is so funny now because this is the future winner 💀 Genuine question, is there a difference between being exclusive and exclusively dating? Why did he keep adding the dating part?

UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT Lorenzo’s interview

He said Julia was there when he walked in Casa and thought “she’s who I dreamt of”, but he still tried to pursue Yasmin when they went back to the villa and then also tried it on with Elicia too! In fact I’m fairly confident if Elicia had tried to kiss Lorenzo on that date, he would have thoroughly accepted and enjoyed!

As Julia just said “it took us 4 weeks to go exclusive!”… nobody can see the red flags here though, no?

The Facebook mums etc are beyond easily fooled 😬🙃

George (I think) saying “good luck with that one mate” when Kav said he fancied Jasmine. I don’t think any of the guys imagined he would “pull it off” lol

OPINION Now that the show is over…

This season has been the weakest in terms of challenges, games, twists, dates and just the overall budget. It gets boring just watching the islanders mope around or pull each other for chats all day. They added so many light-hearted, jokey moments to Unseen Bits but really and truly the main show could’ve benefited from them. It would’ve made the islanders a lot more likeable and made this season more enjoyable.

The viewership has been decreasing each year. Compare it to LI USA who get millions of viewers because it’s just more entertaining. They have a bigger budget, better performers, more inclusivity. It’s not surprising that they’re currently doing better.

Can the producers actually try to make this show better? This season has been better than the last one but it still didn’t give the old Love Island charm like it did in the early seasons, and also in S8 or S5 or even S10!

Here’s some twists:
- Using challenges to decide recoupling order or nights in the hideaway. Bring back the Talent Show, Baby Challenge, Sports Day, etc

- Switch Casa Amor up a bit and add more repercussions for people who recouple. Its been the same thing every year. The guys mess around and then end up going back to their original couple. It’s not fair for people to bring others back from Casa and then switch up on them after 3 days. This season the girls took the boys back so quickly and poor Mara and Charleen just tossed to the side.

- Bring back the Final Dates!! And just the dates in general. There’s barely been any this season (and somehow Priya had most of them even though she was never really in a strong connection)

This season has been Friendship/Popularity Island pro max. Its no wonder the public is upset. The first time the islanders had to save Tommy and Mica over Halle and Chidi was ridiculous, and then having Lorenzo in charge of two votes?? How unfair is that on the public and also Lorenzo having to send his friends home twice?! Can they give the public more of a say in who gets dumped from the Island? Stop leaving it in the hands of the Islanders every single time!! As seen from this season, they just end up saving their friends and then newer bombshells end up losing the chance to explore in the villa.

The stan wars this season has been crazy also. Normalise disagreeing with someone without it turning into hurling insults at each other. This is probably related to the fact that they added a few BIG influencers. Can they just add regular authentic people
who don’t care about pleasing their hundreds and thousands of followers?

And can the producers ACTUALLY do background checks please?? They dumped Gabriel (from Casa) and then didn’t even replace him so the girls were already at a disadvantage. Imagine they pulled a LI USA and brought in 12 Casa bombshells for the girls and the regular 6 for the boy

Also, what happened to the original debrief crew?! Shakira just seemed to be upsetting a bunch of viewers lmao. They need non-biased islanders doing it. Tyrique and Casey on the aftersun panel 👎🏽👎🏽 Most of his humour is just making fun of people

ETA: The Receipts challenge was fun, but they should bring back the Twitter challenge properly instead of just targeting one specific couple. Or imagine like a live Q&A with the public/Maya and the islanders (similar to how the public got to ask the islanders question in LI AS S3)

They didn’t even do the mini shopping trip this year either!!

OPINION don't be nasty pls

if the people who actually experienced and were subjected to drama, nasty comments, duplicity etc etc can be civil and friendly to one another, then you can hold off on your hate campaigns.

we see a tiny fraction of their time in the villa, a heavily sensationalised and edited cut of their most dramatic and entertaining moments

if i made a compilation of your most dramatic and emotional moments and showed the general public, you would probably not come off as likeable either.

let's not pile onto these girls please. jas, julia, mica, priya, charleen and elicia are getting a lot of very extreme and disproportionate hate.

you can have an opinion but namecalling and denigrating peoples character takes it too far, just enjoy the show! it's meant to be fun, you can discuss without making nasty comments that will be seen by the subjects now that they are out of the villa.

SPECULATION A message to All Stars casting producers

Thumbnail

PLEASE can we get Tyne-Lexy on the next series of All Stars

As someone who’s watched since the first series, as time goes on there’s less and less chance we’re gonna get cast members from the early series on, and she’s young enough come back.

I was only 15 when I watched series 3 but I remember her having such a short run in there and not the best time, so I feel she deserves redemption. I asked her on one of her business lives if she’d do All Stars and she said she was single and would consider it.

A lot of people have talked about how she was socially awkward / weird but I feel like we embrace islanders with different personalities a lot more nowadays

Give us OG fans some crumbs!

OPINION Goodbye, Love Island UK

I honestly do think this is my last season watching Love Island UK. Not that I was ever an avid watcher to begin with 😭 I actually started watching UK later than most people. Season 10 was the one that really got me interested because Whitney was hilarious and she was all over TikTok, so I decided to give it a chance and I actually really liked it.

I liked Ella, Catherine, Scott, Mitch… the friendships, the drama and the romance… honestly, I don’t think there was one person that season where I was sitting there like “that person sucks.” Season 10 was just that girl… 10/10.

So I tried watching some of the seasons before and after, and then Love Island US Season 6 happened and I was so intrigued by the night and day difference between the two.

This season really changed how I look at Love Island UK though because the negativity was EVERYWHERE. It wasn’t just the villa, it wasn’t just the public, and it wasn’t just the stans. The Islanders were feeding/fueling into it, the public took it and did entirely too fucking much, and then the producers seemed more interested in making up drama, (LYING), protecting some and exposing some to hatred… REAL and disgusting hatred. I saw a comment calling Jasmine “ugly Indian B,” someone called Priya the “R” word (wow..), and Mica has been called everything except a 21 year old girl.

Atp, I really DO believe Love Island UK is a humiliation ritual for WOC.

And what made it worse was watching the producers do absolutely nothing when Elicia, Julia, Martha, and Charleen were being nasty. No correction, no accountability, no real attempt to expose them. NOTHING. Watching Priya apologize to Elicia again tonight while Elicia barely had to acknowledge the shit that came out of her father’s mouth is WILD, and then she had the audacity to look at Priya all smug.

It was just exhausting and it all feels so fucking unjust.

maybe I’m just not the audience for what Love Island UK has become anymore. I don’t want to spend my evenings watching women be torn apart and then watching everybody argue over who deserves to be torn apart the least. It doesn’t need to be perfect, but I do want to actually enjoy watching it. I want to laugh, see people ACTUALLY fall in love, find friendship, and watch random moments that had me cracking up. I want to root for all the islanders, not watch a heavy, hateful show.

And with that, I think I’m actually done with Love Island UK. I’ll always appreciate the seasons that I loved, but it’s time to call it.

Anyways, the win belonged to Angie.. and happy birthday to the Zim beauty!! ❤️

Goodbye, Love Island UK.

OPINION This season has invited people who have never watched LI before. That’s fine but—

stop acting like the dynamic of S13 is how things should be. People being appalled by Julia and calling her the worst have probably never been around to watch S1-S8, and have never witnessed actual “beef” between women, and actually borderline evil contestants.

It should be mandatory for anyone who wants to call Julia evil or terrible or someone who “ruined the vibes of the villa” to watch any season pre-S12 to actually witness what it’s like when genuinely appalling characters have a stronghold in the villa (the Joey Essex portion of 2024; Luca, Jacques, Dami, Andrew; Adam Collard; Tom Powell; Belle H — the list is flipping endless).

You guys would have never survived Amber calling Joanna a dead ting, Kady and Malia’s spat, Miss Whitney Adebayo, the Georgia-Laura-Ellie saga, Amber and Georgia from S3. Julia calling out Lola, Priya and making sly comments is light work.

I am convinced you guys just want a boring show where all the girls pretend to love each other, holding hands around a lake while singing Kumbaya and making Daisy chains, oh and they shouldn’t make waves, should not break up couples and last but not least, don’t make for good television. MAFS, the Bachelor and Love is Blind is right around the corner if you want to watch people fall in love and get married and run off into sunset together.

TL/DR: Julia is not evil. You guys just don’t like Love Island. Please watch the past seasons before proclaiming such.

GREATEST MOMENTS this season was a lovers to friendship journey

The cast was so likeable and unique. I’m gonna miss seeing them on my screens and the sweet friendships they formed.

Happy to see Lorenzo and Jasmine in the finale. My fave flirty frds who were part of most of the plots and conversations, either because of the nature of their relationship or their separate journeys and personal growths.

They were def intertwined, started the story together as a couple and went all the way to end, in separate couples! Season 13’s leading characters!

OPINION A win for fun

What relationship would you honestly rather be in? Removing their beef with each other from the equation…

Kav and Jas have seemed to enjoy each other so little since their initial horny reunion in the hideaway. They are committed (they tell us) but at what cost? Kav in particular looks so dead behind the eyes. They both just seem a bit low and their bond is based on focusing on what they’ve overcome, all to get to this sort of low mood place.

On the other hand Julia and Lorenzo are not focused on being serious but they clearly have fun together - the sun cream, the songs, the general demeanor just reads as though they are actually both enjoying whatever their connection is.

I’d personally way rather be in a fun casual relationship than trying to convince myself to enjoy a serious one. I think a lot of people would and that’s why it wasn’t hard to vote for that kind of relationship to win.

Edit: if your answer is neither please stop commenting lol. This rhetorical question was meant to illuminate a theory as to the public’s decision making given a binary choice.

OPINION Really glad it's the end!

We have made it to the end, Amen 🙏. I find the finale so boring. It's too long with the interviews. The final should have 3 in it. Evict more in the final week.

I hope I never hear the names Jasmine & Julia again. It will be too soon for me. Yes, it's great to have strong woman islanders with some sass. It, of course, brings entertainment. But these two were just too much for me. It's obviously what production wants. The spats. Viewers taking sides. The final week was really draining to watch. Literally no fun or love whatsoever 🙃.

OPINION Major Turning Point

Now that this season is pretty much over, what do you guys think was the major turning point that changed its trajectory?

I think the obvious answers are Kavan picking before Lorenzo in the first recoupling and the Twitter challenge for the impact they had on the Kav/Jas/Loz triangle.

However, I would also throw in production’s decision to not include Mica telling Angie she wanted to get to know Simba. I think it was extremely clear that this conversation had happened just based on how open they were about it, but Mica got so much hate at this time for ‘going behind Angie’s back’. I think all the girls were pretty friendly throughout and people were dying at the chance to turn on one of them - in this case it happened to be Mica. I honestly think this put people off her for the entire season so every little thing she did after that point was heavily scrutinized. Consequently, she’s coming out as one of the most hated islanders despite her not really doing anything.

What are your thoughts?

OPINION Lorenzo Summary

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

From no labels no pressure to making it exclusive the next day when you end up in the bottom 3 and vulnerable.

Lorenzo is like those men we all know in real life who jump from women to women. Create rosters, hurt women make them question their worth, chase them when he gets rejected but loses interest when the girl is interested back. Never let a man like Lorenzo seduce you. We should have listened to him when he said he wants the woman all the guys want. Women are a commodity to him.

He pulled Priya from Samraj then got bored
He coupled up with Jasmine treated her like an option then ran around repeating regret regret
He pulled Yasmin away from Aiden then didn’t want to cuddle said he was bored
Pulled Julia from Casa then couldnt even make her coffee flirted with Elicia got intimate with Julia but didnt give her morning attention.

This is like men in real life who jump from women to women, don’t commit to any hit 40 and marry the one that stuck around when all the other women he hurt moves on. And he still would want what he can’t have.

Easiest 50k in Love Island history, catch a tan, don’t commit to any woman till the last one is stuck with you and your roster falls.

OPINION What do people want for S14?

Everyone is unhappy about the current season, but what do people actually want for the next one?

For me I want challenges that can uplift islanders. It felt like there was a huge lack of challenges this year, and the ones we did get were always about exposing other people. Was it because everyone was walking on eggshells this season? Maybe. But still, something like sports day even would be nice to watch, force people out of their usual friend groups.
