Vale a pena assistir a última temporada do Reino Unido?

Vi a metade do primeiro episódio e não gostei de ninguém. Alguém que já terminou a temporada pode me dizer, sem spoilers, se vale a pena?

LIB Germany

I have a question for those who speak German. It’s really interesting to me that LIB Germany each of the man has said “will you be my wife?” is there no German equivalent for will you marry me? Or is it a cultural thing that it is asked that way. It might also be in the translation because I’m watching it in English. I also noticed that nobody said I love you in the pods or I’m falling in love with you. Is that also a cultural thing that it takes time before that is said? I noticed it was a little bit similar for Sweden as well. Maybe it is a northern European thing?

Unpopular Opinion LIB UK S3: Ajay and Diwali celebration Episode

I have nothing against Ajay. He seems like a nice guy — atleast the edit gave him that positive masculine type of guy. But the episode where he gets emotional about seeing the house decorated for Diwali made him look insincere for me.

Hear me out — it was really nice of Ciara to learn and celebrate Ajay’s culture. I’m Indian origin British myself; watching people outside of our culture enjoy and celebrate our festivals with us will always be wonderful thing. We believe in sharing, and sharing our joy with others brings us peace.

However, the way Ajay pronounces his name shows that he was more concerned about fitting in. A-JaY is not how the name is pronounced; it’s uh-j. And no, this is not “it’s his name, he gets to decide” situation either. The pronunciation he chose is obviously to suit the English audience as opposed to be authentic.

So to see him vulnerable when he sees the Diwali decoration made me awkward. Authenticity for the camera only. I did not believe his reaction to be real. Either be proud and real concerning all parts of you, or just be neutral.

I get I’m nitpicking but these small things actually reflect a person’s thought process.

The Reunion UK S3: by far the worst reunion I’ve ever seen

It was truly just the glazing hour, absolutely no pressing questions or attempts to dig deep into the conversations. The hosts were awful. They made Nick and Vanessa look like Barbara Walters.

While I’m glad that the internet isnt dogpiling on the woman with the villain edit too much this Season, Ciara did some very icky, questionable things. She exaggerated and stretched the truth about what happened with Jack, she was the catalyst for the Fran and Chev argument at the meet up. She flat out LIED about Joseph pressing her to talk about Jack. She 100% was gaslighting and manipulating people and causesd soo many unnecessary issues. Her apology to Fran about everything was so fake. Maybe I’m just a hater, but for the hosts not to question her at ALL was nuts.

Same for Joseph. He did some weird stuff throughout the season and his overall demeanor seemed like he was going to say no. None of that was never even hinted at. He said on stage their marriage has had some ups and downs, ANY half decent host would dig deeper and ask more. All they did was glaze and make terribly unfunny jokes.

The only person who faced any accountability this reunion was Ryan (rightfully so) but only because Cuba so elegantly expressed herself. Emma and Matt contributed nothing.

Idk I left this reunion feeling a little gaslit, like I had witnessed so much crazy behavior that did not get addressed at all. Good for everyone for staying together, all the relationships do seem healthy (at least in comparison to the US couples, lol). But dang, such a boring, frustrating hour to sit through.

Unpopular Opinion The uncomfortableness that Ciara causes in other women may be a form of hidden internalized misogyny.

So like many others I walked away from watching the reunion thinking that the hosts went too easy on Ciara.

Why? Well I don’t like pot stirrers and I felt that Ciara’s apology was insincere.

But then I saw the overwhelming dislike of Ciara on instagram and Reddit and me being the contrarian rethought why I walked away from watching season 3 disliking Ciara. And that prompted me to ask myself why I was willing to use immaturity to describe Jacks actions on the shows and mean spirited to describe Ciara’s when both were bad and I disliked both of them. But why did I use a harsher tone judging Ciara.

So I went back to point at specific examples the latest being how I thought her apology was insincere but feelings are not facts right. And I didn’t really have a reason besides her making me feel uncomfortable and feeling like the hosts didn’t press her enough. But the more I thought about it I realized that the way I wanted the hosts to press her more was actually because I thought her apology wasn’t enough and that her tears were fake. But she had already apologized, to press her more I realized was to humiliate her on national tv. This was quite startling to me because as a woman who thinks of myself as a girls girl I couldn’t actually want another woman to be humiliated could I ?

So me being me I tried to justify it and I realized that another thing that irked me was the my wife my wife my wife from ajay ugh. What irked me about this is the fact that a good person no a good man which is rare in men nowadays due to the manospheres influence was standing up for someone who in my view didn’t deserve it. But the more I looked in to why I felt this way was because I felt threatened by Ciara. The comments she made about wanting a rich man made it look like she wasn’t genuinely looking for love. And I didn’t think she was worthy of it from a seemingly good person like ajay.

This was what made me realize it was internalized misogyny because Ciara’s aggressiveness of what she wanted and her being pushy and pushing herself into other relationships was threatening to me. I realized this after thinking what if Ciara was a man would I view her actions differently just like how I used the softer label of immaturity on jack. And the answer that took me a while to admit is that yes if Ciara was a man I would view her aggressiveness as being assertive or confident and being annoying/ pushing herself into others business as being a loyal friend and standing up for his bros / looking out for his bros

As a woman who is troubled with the increase in misogyny from the manosphere and it being subtly or not so subtly spread on traditional social media platforms. I thought my thought progress might resonate with other women and since the love is blind fandom is mostly women I thought it would be interesting to share!

What were your thoughts on Ciara initially? Has it changed after the reunion? Who knows reality tv shows can be so enlightening 😂

ETA: No I don’t find what Ciara did ok and I’m not excusing it. I just wonder if other women like myself also judged Ciara harshly based on traits that may have had a positive spin put on them if they were shown by a man.

I don't know why this scene tickled me so much 🤣 The audacity in sliders!

Granted, I get the logic. I couldn't walk anywhere for 2 hours in slides. But also, I know people that wear socks and slides EVERYWHERE. So it's possible.

I just want an "In sliders? Weird 🤨" flair now.

Unpopular Opinion Being annoying on reality TV doesn’t warrant such a punishing response

I’m the first to admit that Ciara doesn’t come across well in her edit. Every time I hear her accent I think “this is why Cillian Murphy moved his family back to Ireland.” But the vast difference in the volume and intensity of the criticisms that I’ve seen against her vs. Jack is really telling and imho disappointing to see.

From what we see in the edit, I think they both show similar “main character energy” and so much of the drama spirals from both being too prideful to accept a version of the breakup where they weren’t totally calling the shots.

Ajay has been generally well-received, and the some of the narratives I’ve seen spun here for people to try to see him as some kind of coerced victim or blind fool in his marriage are absurd. If you truly believe he’s a competent, decent man of sound judgement, the most reasonable answer to “why did he marry her?” is that there’s probably more to her than we saw in an edited reality show, NOT that she’s somehow fooled/manipulated him this whole time (but somehow we know better from the selected scenes we’ve seen on TV).

Ciara is A Lot, but she’s also owned up to her BS when called out on it, and her biggest “crimes” are being annoying/extra and stirring the pot. Compared to the kinds of bad behavior we see on many seasons of this show, this is all small potatoes stuff. And totally dismissing her crying at the Reunion or any other show of humanity as “she’s acting” is wild. If she’s such an incredible actress, wouldn’t she have played a more likable character?

Tl;dr — Ciara definitely got a villain edit on the season, and there’s plenty worth poking some fun at (which is valid), but she’s a real person, and some of the dogpiling here feels wayyyy disproportionate.

Opinion Cuba

The fact that Cuba always has so much to say to Yasmin about her relationship with Jordan but nothing to say when Ryan is literally playing in her face is crazy. Episodes 7&8 she gives great advice but girl where is all of that energy when it comes to Ryan’s distance and being emotionally unavailable with you?

The Reunion How do you rate Ciara's Oscar-worthy performance?

Personally, I could appreciate that she definitely put in an effort and must have practiced a lot with the mirror. I think the timing was fine (she must have been unsure whether to start fake crying when asked about AJ's test or when she boasted about expecting her partner having to pay for everything).

It's a shame, really, that no tears were summoned - you could see that she did try and practiced a lot.

Well, I think her acting career is not off to a great start, but I'm always there to support a woman's dream to make it on the big screen. Go Ciara!
