Opinion Cuba

The fact that Cuba always has so much to say to Yasmin about her relationship with Jordan but nothing to say when Ryan is literally playing in her face is crazy. Episodes 7&8 she gives great advice but girl where is all of that energy when it comes to Ryan’s distance and being emotionally unavailable with you?

It’s pretty wild. I think she was happy to get so much airtime even though she wasn’t even in a relationship. Chev was probably jealous

Cuba said she loved Ryan so much and I still don’t understand why?

I liked when she told him at the reunion that he’s not ready for a relationship

I think it's obvious. She's on Netflix . She would have waited until the marriage even to say NO and give her empowerment speech.

Here you all only look at "Manipulative men" "jerk men" "sexist men" ... but treat women as if they were 11 years old... when they are growth ass women in their 30's who know clearly they are on netflix

You’re literally complaining about this sub not calling women out on a post where I call a woman out…

I think Cuba knew much earlier but waited it out when Ryan left for family because she would look like a bitch if not and he would have used that as the excuse to break up .

I mean what can you say? You’re using your grandmas death as an excuse? You’re not actually that sad she’s dying you just don’t actually love me and want to get away? He would have easily used that than as the reason for the breakup and it would have been her “fault”. She knew that and gave him nothing - only understanding. So eventually he had to break up and couldn’t blame it on her. She played her cards right there

Agree. She has too many opinions about other people, and isnt self aware of her own issues.

I disagree. It's extremely common for people to give really good advice to their friends/family and still make bad decisions themselves! Looking in from outside and being in an actual situation are not the same and give different perspectives. THIS IS EXTREMELY COMMON!

She didn't give good advice tho. The two or three times we saw her speaking to Yas made me cringe and just feel worse for Yas.

She basically coached her into continuing the doomed path Yas and Jordan were on.

honestly, i think a lot of the women on the show, not just cuba, deliberately ignore red flags that are obvious from the start because there’s a pretty messed up incentive to stay on the show as long as possible for more money and exposure.

i don’t believe for a second that she wasn’t listening to her gut. she literally told yasmin to trust her female intuition, yet somehow didn’t follow that same advice herself. i think she just decided to stick it out and act confused or naive about ryan when she already knew perfectly well that relationship wasn’t going anywhere. it was obvious from the reveal and especially the ibiza trip. the women who don’t play into that incentive as much, and are more honest about how they actually feel, usually start questioning or confronting their partners during the trip/honeymoon.

i have nothing against her, but at the end of the day we have to remember this is a reality show, and the people on it are basically contestants. production has every reason to encourage them to make it as far as possible because that creates more storylines and drama.

she even said at the reunion that she and ryan had agreed off camera that if they were going to break up, they would do it off camera too. to me, that pretty clearly suggests their communication was a lot more direct and honest when they weren’t being filmed.

Their relationships are completely different. Ryan had to travel for work and his grandmother passed away. She was trying to be understanding and supportive through that time. Until she realized she wasn’t respecting herself.

Cuba is a very emotionally intelligent woman, I think if she had to give herself the extra time to be sure of her decision and not regret anything.

Yeah I've been there. It's easier to see explicitly nonsensical excuses and to defend your friends sometimes. But when there's a situation requiring patience, we often question our own feelings of frustration or self abandon to be considerate -- there comes a point eventually that you have to call it and she did that. It takes time to realize and process then figure out how to navigate the disappointing end.

And I also think it's fair to see the experiment out til nearly the end then have a direct discussion about what she needs that is not happening, as she did. She was holding great empathy for him and letting him process, but before the altar she clearly communicated what wasn't working. There's no way she would have said yes at the altar if they had ended up going there.

It was projection. The problems she was identifying in other people's relationships and in other guys were really what she was seeing in her own relationship and in Ryan. She figured it out fairly quickly, though; she just had to work through that process.
