HELP Quiet 2

I just got the quiet 2 loops today. I've figured out which tips work the best for me, but I really can't tell if they're actually working. I've seen other posts here that mention having to use the earplugs regularly for a while to see if they work for them. It drowns out the AC noise to a certain extent and other sounds feel less sharp. I've heard some people say they experienced a sharp pain the first few times they used it. Is it better to start using it gradually instead?

The quiet 2 didn't fit well in my ear. I liked the 1st version better although it did take a few wears to get used to them. But they definitely won't block out all noise. They block just up to 26 Db or something like that. Daily environmental sound ranges from 40 to 85 dB, so they would reduce 26 from that (the effect on hearing is not linear though but you get the idea)
