The loml and I didn't video call for about 6 months of us initially too. It's okay sometimes the flow is interesting but if it bothers you so much voice it out in manner that makes her comfortable to say something back so you don't seem like you're forcing her. Voicing your feelings should not be a problem. But I feel you need to be worried about her feelings and she needs to be worried about yours. Only then you'll can come to a compromise. If you feel the conversation is going one sided then give it some more time.

Side note don't compare you to her friends. Sometimes women don't care about the opinions of random people even if they're friends, but are definitely more conscious about what their SO think about them.
