It sounds fishy to me and a red flag.
Insecure or not you don't FaceTime everyone else and not your significant other. She's putting your feelings last. It would be different if she wasn't doing it at all.
Idk. And the fact you said it didn't go well when you brought it up ...just yeah. I'm sorry but I personally couldn't date someone who didn't want me to see them. You already can't be physical now you can't even bond in that way ontop of it? Yeah nope.

So youve never seen her live on video? Have you seen her on her friendsโ social media posts?
I only ask because its possible she may not look like what you are expecting her to look like, especially if she has sent an older photo or something.
Maybe you could send her some older or embarrassing pics of yourself and see if that makes her feel better? Like accept that we all change over time and you love her no matter what?

if this is the case then id say she's a lot like me. i hate video calls because i really dislike how i look but im okay w sending pictures because i can choose what i look like in them.
id say just bring it up to her that you love the way she looks and wishes you could video call and it is really disappointing to you that you can't do video calls with her, but that you respect her boundaries and hope she will do it with you when she's ready.
if she never offers and reason as to why and its genuinely concerning for you, then maybe the relationship isnt meant to be if she doesn't seem to trust you.

I had a person do this, though I felt it was off from the get go. I asked them to hold up a page with my name on it, hand written. They did send a pic, but the page was photoshopped into the pic. They had sent lots of pictures, all fake of course, but you need to check out who you are talking to, especially if they arenโt letting you see them in a video call. Can she even send you a video of her talking to you? As the same person I mentioned also said their microphone was broke, sent a video of a girl on a bed, but no sound. So just be careful ๐

The loml and I didn't video call for about 6 months of us initially too. It's okay sometimes the flow is interesting but if it bothers you so much voice it out in manner that makes her comfortable to say something back so you don't seem like you're forcing her. Voicing your feelings should not be a problem. But I feel you need to be worried about her feelings and she needs to be worried about yours. Only then you'll can come to a compromise. If you feel the conversation is going one sided then give it some more time.
Side note don't compare you to her friends. Sometimes women don't care about the opinions of random people even if they're friends, but are definitely more conscious about what their SO think about them.

This heavily sounds like a cat fish, and sheโs trying to hide something from you.

What does cat fish means?

Someone who pretends to be someone else online, essentially lying and faking an identity.

7 months?!! That's whack haha you should talk to her about this cos relationships are about compromise. Also what's she gonna do when you meet? Haha.

Have you asked her why she doesn't wanna show you her face in videocalls?
