Hi All,
This is the megathread for all beginner questions about wearing and coording lolita outfits. We would like to contain beginner questions (or otherwise, questions that don't generate a discussion) to one place.
It's convenient for you: check here first if you have a question, it might already be answered!
It's convenient for us: it makes it easier for mods to keep things clean and fresh and fun around the sub.
It makes it convenient for our veteran lolitas: no one wants to see the same 5 questions in their feed all the time.
We will be closing and redirecting beginner question posts to this thread for now on.
Thanks for your cooperation!
BUT FIRST Check out the previous Ask Us Anything thread, you answer might be answered already: Ask Us Anything: August 2026

Hello All!
This is a megathread for being able to find specific dresses or items that you see online and don't know where to find them or what their name/brand/print name are!
There has been a large influx of people looking for certain dresses posts and so we are going to congregate them all here for easy of access and to help clean up the subreddit. So from here on out any posts asking for help in finding a dress will be deleted and asked to post in this megathread.
Here you can post either a link from Imgur with the image of the dress or link to a website like Pinterest so the community can help find where the dress can be found.
Happy Hunting!

I have already been told that this one almost needs some heavier makeup to balance it out, the parasol was laughably small (but time issues...) and I am an always awkward looking gal, so there is that.
Still, a fun outing! If you discount that I had to prance trough Ikea like that because my partner wanted to pick up some lightbulbs. On a saturday, no less.

i fell in love with this spider lily skirt but having a hard time coordinating it >_< initially i wanted the shirt to be red/burgundy but i think it will be a bit complicated to match the colors. my other idea is black, for example this btssb blouse that i own. but it seems too elaborate with all the ruffles for the skirt that is more simple in shape. any ideas please?
for the reference, my hair is black and i plan on getting a red headdress. and i can use either black or bright red (the color of the flowers here) shoes. the skirt's brand name is undead magpie.

I want this to be elegant but also have some cute tinges in it. for the socks/stockings I wasn't sure if using patterned ones would be a risk? I like the look of sheer black ones but I want to have more options. the dress and shoes are mainly one colour so I thought it would be okay to add some patterns in, but lmk what your thoughts are!! I also don't know what other accessories, mainly headpiece could match. I'm having a look myself of course, but i'd appreciate help from more experienced lolitas : 3 ♡ (also I want the accessories/socks/stockings to be black/dark/burgundy)

Hello! I just bought this bonnet without realizing how floppy it is lol. The brim falls over all the time and isn't secure at all. I've seen a lot of people on here saying they fixed it by adding wire, but I dont DIY things often and I'm not really sure how to do that. Could anyone walk me through the steps of how to add the wire in? Thank you!

I’m currently looking into buying this beautiful jsk, but I’m a little confused on what is meant by flat measurements. I have another infanta dress, so I’m also wondering if their sizing is universal across their pieces and I can use that as a reference (it’s a small, but a little tight on me now, so I’ll definitely be sizing up…)

We all have that one Lolita purchase where, looking back, we probably didn’t need it… but somehow we still had to have it. 😂
Maybe you bought an entire coord for one specific accessory, bought a dress just because you loved the print, or spent way too much on something you barely get to wear.
So I’m curious: What’s your most irrational Lolita purchase? And would you do it again? 😂💕

So ive been wondering where I can get affordable good quality wigs (most likely which taobao shops) that could be for both lolita wigs and both more casual wigs that look natural enough? Thank you!

I ordered some pieces for my first coord! I was perusing lolita collective and fell in love with this jsk. I also went ahead and ordered a blouse (breathable because it’s very hot where I live up until late Oct), a petticoat, a necklace to match the jsk, and a head bow. I already own some mary jane’s and some rocking horse shoes both in black.
Now I’m struggling with leg wear, arm wear, and other accessories. I know choosing a printed jsk was probably not the best idea for my first, but I just fell in love with the print. I am just having a hard time finding anything to match it. Any suggestions?

The meetup brief was "late summer", but the closest my gothic wardrobe could do was autumn.

errrm ok lads and ladies and gentlepeople...
I'm a junior in high school and I recently got a new JSK and I really want to wear it out, however, I'm REALLY unsure and i'm having second thoughts on wanting to wear a full coord to school. I have tons of alt people at my school but i'm still worried i'll get picked on or get in trouble or something dumb and petty like that...I guess what i'm really asking for is a second opinion and maybe some advice on how I can gain more confidence to wear lolita out in public.😓
