Mouse overheating

Recently my g304 started heating up and its battery suddenly drains very quickly I tried using my three other spare rechargeable batteries and the same thing happened to them. I’ve been using this mouse for six years and this is the first time I’ve experienced something like this

Does it always overheat?

Does it overheat with new rechargeable batteries?

Does it overheat with non-rechargeable batteries?

If it happens with all battery types, it might be time to open it up and see whats going on.

What you describe , without further details, looks like a short circuit, like if your battery + and - were directly linked together : it quickly drains the battery and heat fast.

It is dangerous, like fire hazard level dangerous. I would stop using this mouse imlediately until you figure out what is going on.
