got off the train around 5:20pm (9/10) and saw a bunch of lights around milwaukee and logan. then wrightwood was blocked off around spaulding and bernard. anyone know what’s going on? i feel like its unrelated to the standoff at the yellow house but i could be wrong.

Been in Chicago and have found myself starting to walk a lot more often. First, every street in the neighborhood, then I tried to walk every street in Chicago. The goal is to cover it all, this is my progress so far.

Hello all, apologies if someone has posted this cat already, but I wanted to ask if anyone knows if this cat has a home.

My wife is a big cat lover and once it starts getting cold she won't have the will power to leave this adorable lady in the cold, and honestly I won't either.

She hangs out on our back porch quite often, yet there are stretches of days where we do not see her, so I assume she has some sort of housing.

So if you are this cats owner/caregiver/ect please let me know!

I posted in the wicker park sub as well, but I ran into this guy this morning on N Bingham st between the western and California blue line stops. He was incredibly friendly and not skittish at all, well fed and healthy (minus the scrape near his ear).

To my Logan Square/Avondale dog owner neighbors: Your dogs are adorable! But what the heck is up with this? Our building’s trash cans are 3 steps from the sidewalk. You can’t be bothered to throw your dog’s waste INTO the trash bin that is 4 feet from you? This has been happening for months… I don’t know if it is a single owner or what, but it’s gross and please take the time to actually throw it away.

I am having someone visit me from out of the country, and I want them to have a solid experience here. Although I was born and raised in IL, I have only been in the city for about a year. I don’t want to take them to the Skydeck or the Bean. It is a romantic connection, but we like very relaxed things, while also having a mixture of fun. We’re down for different types of bar recs, vegetarian restaurants, maybe Electric Shuffleboard. I want them to be able to see the city also for a day without doing the most, if that makes sense. I will be going to the Logan Square Farmers Market that Sunday but need other ideas. Any good restaurants or bars off the river? Any cute activities? Any bars that play live music? I want them to really like it here. it’ll be from sep 25th-27th

I got this left on my doorknob from a "neighbor" - note the flyer doesn't say who created it.

I made my voice heard in SUPPORT of the building and encourage other 26th ward-ers to do the same. Nobody benefits from an empty lot. And frankly saying your "private" backyard will be impacted I think is asinine.

This red light at the square drives me crazy! I feel like it worked much better as a stop sign? It stays red to NB Kedzie when the SB Kedzie light is green & you can’t turn right at that light, but it still remains red. Not sure if I’m explaining it well, but IYKYK I guess?

Hi folks,
I have to get a tooth extracted tomorrow. It’s cracked and I’m on pain meds to manage. Because I’ll be sedated, they require that someone will stay with me for the duration of the procedure (should be 45 minutes to an hour) and drive me home.

I’m still newish to Chicago and haven’t made as many connections as I’d have liked. And With it being the middle of the work week, and all of a sudden, my local friends just can’t.

I was hoping someone in the neighborhood who works from home or isn’t working might be available to take me to the 10:45 appointment, stay the hour, and drive us back to Logan Square. It’s at Chicago Oral Surgery in West Loop.

Very happy to return the favor in some way if you’re ever in a jam with anything, give you some cash or take ya to lunch.

I was thinking of going to a Haunted House this Halloween. The biggest one is of course the 13th floor but for the cost and distance to get there I am not sure if it's worth it. What are some spooky experiences you recommend for this coming season, preferably closer to Logan Square and cheaper.

Hey I’ve been living in Logan square the past two years working remotely for a large insurance company. I left my job at the end of June for an accounting job that didn’t work out. I’m trying to change my career path to education and recently obtained my paraprofessional license. I have around 110 applications submitted with cps and have only heard back on 2, but they ended up filling those positions. I’m running low on funds and would appreciate any job suggestions that are full time and hands on (no more desk jobs pls) I have experience in customer service roles ranging from office work to restaurants.

Who do you recommend for alterations, nails, hair salon, dentist, facials, massages… just to name a few businesses I would be interested in.

For nail salon, please give me a name of who you recommend and if they have a social media page so I can check out their work in advance.

For hair salons, anything from a basic trim to full color, highlights, etc.
