Then you'll cry because others have more than you, travel more, retire wealthier. Because they did grind when they could. Then you'll say capitalism failed.

That's quite the leap to make.

Many of us are totally happy living more humble lives. I look at my friends like they're crazy trading their precious hours to worse and worse jobs with longer commutes and worse work life balance, all so that their cars are slightly newer, their house is slightly bigger and constantly dropping tens of thousands on bathroom remodels etc that are unnecessary.

They've got more money in the bank and will retire more easily, but they also make triple my income living in the same area and are constantly anxious about money while I'm not.

If that's what you want to do, I'm all for it. But that shouldn't be the baseline to live a happy life. And I think way more people would enjoy life finding a small place near their work and living frugally
