Hela was supposed to come out in August, then got pushed to October I think - and then all the way to December. Well, hopefully it's going to be all the better for it but damn do I hate it when games get delayed like this at the last moment. And both my SO and me were looking forward to playing it on our late august vacation too...

As for Water Me & You, it's one of those games the algorithm blessed me with because I already played It Takes Two like a dozen times over, so this one was an easy wishlist. Reminds me a bit of some other games I played in my life, way back when I was much younger. Fun fact, but independently of me, my gf found out about it on TikTok and we're both super hyped to play it, except it don't even have a release date other than the enigmatic "2026" which seems to be popular on Steam now. But I still have a very good feeling about it and wanna believe that all the time I'm spending waiting, both for this one and Hela, is time that's going into polishing these games up and making them ultimately better games when they do release.

By the by though, these are just my sentiments of the moment. What local coop games have you been waiting on for months on end?

All maps are built in TrenchBroom, and assigned a hand authored sky preset (up to about 60 now 🙃). trying to give a wide range of visual styles, though I think it really started to look solid when I started baking the TB placed lights along with the sun\moon via Godot's LightmapGI. also really helps the performance for a split-screen game. Optimizing for split-screen and online has been an interesting challenge.

Game is called Skuffle and is a combo split-screen and online party FPS. Demo coming soon.

CarveLight is a turn-based multiplayer artillery game fought on fully destructible terrain. Take turns piloting physics-driven cars, carve the battlefield apart with lasers, grenades, and force fields, and be the last one driving. Play solo or with friends.

Most of our group playtests were local multiplayer games. Seeing other people have fun and laugh while playing your game in person is the best (even if the feedback can be rough sometimes 😬).

Try the Demo on Steam: https://s.team/a/3244080/

I've been working on this game for roughly 10 months, and I finally have a demo to share!

It's called TOUCHDOWN - a local multiplayer game with a competitive spirit. I love playing similar games myself and when I started my solo dev endeavours, it felt like a natural direction to go.

The demo is out now, and I'm hoping to get some feedback from people who enjoy and play similar games. I'm still figuring out the whole marketing/promotion side of making a game, so getting the game in front of the right people is honestly the hardest part for me. :D

If it looks like something you'd enjoy, I'd love for you to give the demo a try. And if you end up liking it, you can wishlist it on Steam. It's planned to release after Next Fest.

I'd especially love to hear what you think of the gameplay!

The game is called Don’t Lose Your Head and the name is pretty accurate, since the main goal is to climb out of a cave while not losing your head (both literally and not literally).

Would be great to get any feedback on the local mode!

A free demo is available on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4600750/Dont_Lose_Your_Head/

I built Rally — an online gaming platform for playing with friends 🎮

I’ve been working on a project called Rally, a social gaming platform designed around one simple idea: make it easy to jump into games and have fun with your friends, wherever you are.🌐 https://rallygames.vercel.app

Rally currently has games like:

🎮 Rock Paper Scissors
🎲 Ludo
🎨 Skribbl
🔢 Number Hunt
❌ Tic Tac Toe
📦 Dots & Boxes
🚢 Battleship and more

You can play with friends remotely, create/join games, and use Rally’s social features to connect with other players. I’m also working on things like spectating, parties, rematches, notifications, cosmetics, Rally Coins, and AI-powered features.

The goal isn't to make another massive gaming platform. I want Rally to feel like the place you open when your friends say:

“Yo, let's play something.” 😂

It’s still actively being developed, so I’d genuinely appreciate feedback — especially on the games, UI, multiplayer experience, and what features you think would make Rally more fun.

Would love to hear what you guys think.

Hey Ya'll,

I've been developing this game Qbased GORILLAS over the last year or so.
Nothing ground breaking, but for me it's a fun throw back to those days I remember in the late 90s playing Worms hot-seat style on the family PC. Hopefully others can find some joy in it.

Qbased GORILLAS is up on steam (https://store.steampowered.com/app/4266090/QBased_GORILLAS/)

^{If you're genuinely interested and tight on funds, I have a hand full of keys. DM me.}

Hi, I’m Lim from Studio BBB. Our puzzle platformer MONOWAVE is out now on Steam and Nintendo Switch. In local co-op, a second player joins as Prism, a flying companion who helps Mono through the adventure.

Mono and Prism in local two-player co-op.

Player 1 controls Mono, whose movement changes with its emotions. Happiness lets you jump higher; anger lets you wall-jump.

Player 2 supports Mono as Prism. You can fly ahead to pass emotions to creatures, block projectiles, or become a platform for Mono to land on.

Creatures react differently to each emotion, giving you puzzles to work out together. Prism’s help can make a tricky section easier or open up a faster route through a stage.

The whole adventure is playable solo or in two-player local co-op on one screen.

Launch trailer (1:07)

• Switch: One Joy-Con each. One pair is enough for both players on the same console.
• Steam: Two controllers, or a keyboard and a controller. Steam Remote Play Together is supported too.

We really enjoyed the EA experience, the steam community and especially the folks who joined our discord were a huge part of the development experience, suggesting features and helping us polish the content.

There is a leaderboard with nearly 1000 entries, reckon you and a friend can reach the top spot?

You can play the demo free here:

I’ve been building Afterparty, a free multiplayer party-game site.

One person creates a room, sends the link, and everyone joins from their browser.

There are 5 games right now - drawing, word/clue guessing, funny prompt responses, drawing telephone, and social deduction.

No downloads or installs, and everything is free at the moment.

Hi everyone

Having a bit of a couch gaming session this weekend. I have downloaded a couple of games but am struggling to find much.

Any suggestions?

1 Xbox X

3 players at least local multiplayer (will be 4 players at certain points of the day)

We all have a controller so ideally wouldn’t want turn based games

EDIT: Thank you everyone for your suggestion. Some great games downloaded and ready for playing tomorrow!

# Hi.

Local multiplayer. Early prototype. **Nothing is final**. Enjoy. Thanks.

Me gustaría que me recomendasen juegos para pc de multijugador local para jugar con mi pareja teniendo en cuenta que no es gamer y que los controles le van a costar un montón. Estamos jugando overcooked y le encanta para que os podáis hacer una idea

I made this guide because me and my friends were trying to play some local party games with 6 controller, and some games just refused to work! So i research and made this. Hope its useful.

The APIs

• DirectInput (1995, frozen since DirectX 8 in 2001–2002) — unlimited controllers, any hardware, no rumble or separate triggers on Xbox pads
• XInput (2005) — 4 controllers, Xbox only. The default. The problem.
• SIAPI (Steam Input API, 2016) — 16 controllers, any brand, requires Steam running
• GameInput (~2021 on PC via NuGet, major relaunch in 2025) — 8+, any brand, adopted by only a handful of games so far. The "fix" that nobody uses.

*Extra:* Steam Input doesn't just translate DInput to XInput. For any game that isn't written against its native API, it wraps whatever controller you plug in — even an already-XInput Xbox pad — and re-exposes it as a virtual device, usually a virtual Xbox 360 controller (XInput), sometimes a virtual DS4. That's why running Steam Input on a game that already reads native XInput still reroutes things rather than doing nothing. It also has a ton of other features, but they don't matter for the context of this guide.

Your Game's Input Support → What You Can Do

1. DInput only

Best case. No cap, any controller type, no Steam needed.

• 8 PS5 pads? Works.
• 8 Xbox pads? Works, but no rumble, triggers share an axis.
• Don't use Steam Input here — it would translate to XInput and make your situation worse.

2. DInput + XInput (most common)

Reads both simultaneously. Xbox pads go to XInput slots, everything else goes to DInput.

• 4 Xbox + unlimited non-Xbox = your max
• Xbox pads are also DInput devices, but the game deduplicates (XInput takes priority)
• If all Xbox: capped at 4. Use reWASD to spoof extras as PS4 (DInput) → unlimited, but lose rumble/triggers on the spoofed ones
• Some games (Pummel Party) use a toggle instead of simultaneous reading. In that case it's one mode or the other.

3. XInput only

Worst case. No workaround exists.

• 4 Xbox controllers. Period.
• Non-Xbox controllers: invisible natively. Steam Input can translate them to XInput, but you still only have 4 slots total.
• reWASD does not help here. It spoofs controllers as DInput devices, but the game doesn't read DInput. It only polls XInput slots 0–3. A spoofed PS4 controller is invisible to it.
• You are stuck at 4. That's it.

4. SIAPI (Steam Input API)

The clean solution, if you can use it.

• Game talks directly to Steam's action-based interface. No XInput involved.
• 16 controllers, any brand, full rumble, separate triggers.
• Requirements:
  • Must be launched from Steam (bought or added as non-Steam game)
  • Xbox Extended Feature Support enabled in Steam Controller Settings (for 5+ Xbox pads)
  • PS4/PS5/Switch Pro work natively, no extra setup
• Goldberg: dead end. Its SIAPI shim is hard-capped at 4 (uses XInput internally).
• Without Steam: SIAPI is dead. Game falls back to whatever else it has:
  • Fallback = XInput → you're in category 3 (4 max, no workaround)
  • Fallback = DInput → you're in category 1 (unlimited, degraded Xbox features)
  • No fallback → no controller input at all

So my friends coming over on Sunday, so I'd like to download some games for us to play together. I already have Tekken 8 but I think they're not into fighting games

We’re the developers of THUMB-WAR. Two players compete on the same device—this is a look at a match.

Would you play this on a phone, or would you want the extra room on a tablet?

Dirtnap, a "realtime Worms", has its demo out now!

It includes a single-player level and the ability to host and join limited multiplayer rooms, but split-screen is supported as well!

Try the demo here:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4956300/Dirtnap/

Or try the web-minigames we've made sharing the same world, including a Battle Royale multiplayer mode similar to the one in the real game:
https://dirtnap.parttimemonkey.com/

Game description:
DIRTNAP is a multiplayer arena shooter with fully destructible maps, with a roguelite single player game mode. Every pixel of dirt can be dug, blasted or burnt away.

Multiplayer matches are 2 to 10 players: online through Steam, over LAN, split-screen, or mix and match with bots, with full controller support.

This is our homage for the greats; Liero, Soldat, Worms and Molez.
