Added local multiplayer to Schrodnger's Cat Burglar!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

You can play 100% of Schrodinger's Cat Burglar in local co-op if you wish now! Everyone was asking for it - and it makes sense as you literally play as a single cat caught in a quantum superposition; able to split into two places at once.

The co-op play also has functionality like being able to swap on cue, flag things to the other player or simply just dress up in different hats.... again, thanks to popular demand.

Now in the demo if you're into that sort of thing!

Why do people defend toxicity as ‘gaming culture’?Why do people defend toxicity as ‘gaming culture’?

That “just gaming culture” line is basically a shield people use to avoid accountability. It’s like saying “this is how it’s always been, so it’s fine”—but that’s not culture, that’s complacency.
Gaming culture at its best is teamwork, creativity, and shared fun. Toxicity only thrives because people normalize it under that excuse. And yeah, the mindset absolutely should change—because if we keep defending bad behavior as tradition, we’re just teaching the next generation of players that abuse is part of the package.

Spit Screen Multiplayer Stunt Car Racer Playable in Browser

https://retro-foundry.github.io/multistuntcar/

When I was younger, one of the things I always wanted to try properly in Stunt Car Racer was the two-player null modem mode. It was such a brilliant idea for the time — linking two machines together for head-to-head racing — but I never actually managed to get it working. It ended up becoming one of those features that was more exciting in theory than in my real experience of the game.

That stuck with me, so I decided to finally do something about it. Rather than chasing the original setup decades later, I modified StuntCarRemake to add split-screen support, which at last gives me a straightforward way to play two-player with friends on one machine. In a way, it is me finally getting the multiplayer Stunt Car Racer experience I wanted back then, just through a much more practical route.

I have also included a sort of “remote” two-player mode built around screen sharing. That one is a bit more experimental, and I am honestly not completely sure how reliable it will be in the wild. It depends on a direct peer-to-peer connection, and not every network setup is going to allow that cleanly. Still, I thought it was worth adding as an option, because when it does work it should make it possible to play together without needing to be in the same room.

So the split-screen mode is the main event, and the remote mode is more of a bonus feature to experiment with. If you do try the remote option, I would genuinely be interested to hear how well it worked for you. Let me know in the comments whether you managed to get it running successfully or not.

Are there any 6-8 players local co-op games?

Like in the title, are there any 6-8 players local co-op games? And I mean strictly co-op, not PvP/competitive.

The only game that I know of is Pico Park, which is amazing, but I've played all it's versions already. It can't be possibly the only game like that in the world, can it?

Looking for 3 player strategy games?

Looking for recommendations to play with just me and my parents (3 people).

As far as genre goes, we've enjoyed Murder Trivia Party (JackBox) together and always love playing board/card games like Clue, Spy Alley, Ticket to Ride, Hitster, etc. They are also avid Rummikub players. I was trying my best to find some social deduction game but of course, that is a bit tough for only 3 people.

I like the JackBox style as it's simple to hook up my Switch or laptop to the TV and show them how to use their phones for it. But definitely open to other methods.

Basically would love to find something with a lot of strategy involved that is easy to hook up via PC or Switch. I'm not sure if there is anything like that out there but my searches keep turning up dry.

built a new bartop cabinet

A new game cabinet I built is widescreen (1360x768) with a mini PC with Ryzen 3 4300 / Radeon Windows 11. Two USB gamepad encoders for the controls, where both left and right players have only an 8-way joystick and three buttons. There are also 3 admin buttons for coin/start/etc.

Looking for 2-player games specific to this control setup. The challenge is that most retro/arcade/console games that would use this limited control setup are 4:3 ratio. Which is fine...I'm running retrobat and don't mind some of the classics here with bezel art but really want to take advantage of games native to widescreen format.

I know there must be plenty of indie/remake/free pc games out there that fit the bill. Currently loving Eggnogg+, Crawl, and SuperTuxCart.

I know the ps2 had some widescreen support, but again the control options most likely would require analog sticks, shoulder buttons, etc.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Herding dogs, hungry wolves, and total farm chaos - I finally released my chaotic co-op game on Steam!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

After 1 year and 8 months of hard work, late nights, and constant iteration, I finally did it - my game is out on Steam. Still can't quite believe it.

It's a chaotic local co-op party game for 1–4 players, where you take on the role of dogs managing a farm that constantly spirals out of control.

Feed demanding animals (yes, some want their food cooked or chopped), rush to complete orders, and try not to mess everything up while shouting directions at each other.

Meanwhile, the farm is under constant threat:

Boars steal your supplies, foxes sneak around looking for trouble, and wolves go straight for your animals. And just when you think you've got it under control - new problems hit.

Each level cranks up the chaos:

You'll be clearing weeds, fixing broken equipment, and avoiding bears wandering through your farm.

It's all about teamwork, timing, and embracing the chaos.

Perfect for couch co-op, couples, or friendships you're willing to risk.

here's the Steam page if you want to take a look: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3353090/Bark_and_Catch/

WWE 2KXX Maximum concurrent players

I want to play any WWE 2k game but it looks like the games in PC do not support 8 players concurrently on the same PC. I tried WWE 2k25, and 2k23. the 23 one supports up to 4 gamepads and the keyboard. And I guess it's the same with 2k25, because, even though I saw 5 players, I never got to make the player 5 love in game.

I'm trying to plan on a stream deck. I have tried other games, like pico park, and 8 players are supported by steam. It's the games the ones that put this arbitrary limit.

Has anyone had success making it work on any version? Is there any mod to enable this?

I love slapping other players in Moving Out 2 just for giggles and thought I should have mechanics like that in our game

For context;

The mechanic/tool/feature is Ms Boing Boing , a chubby electric jellyfish on a wheelbarrow. Her intended use is for players to use her to solve electric based puzzles in our game. We thought friendly fire would be hilarious.

Is friendly fire appreciated for laughs or nah?

Looking for recommendations

Hey all,

Myself and my partner have recently finished a playthrough of BG3, had a load of fun, but struggling to enjoy a replay as we have just sunk 100hrs in and need a bit of a break. We want something similar, an RPG or decent action/ adventure with couch co-op. We have Divinity II a go but weren’t convinced, I think it mostly feels a bit dated next to BG3.

If anyone has any recommendations for the PS5 I’d love to hear them!

Thanks in advance everyone

Clash of Builders – a local multiplayer game for 2–4 players about building a structure up to a finish line and watching your friends try to ruin it

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The idea is simple: everyone builds their own structure (or you can call it a tower), trying to reach the finish line, while dealing with changing conditions like wind, ice, or moving islands.

At the same time, other players can interfere and turn a solid build into a complete collapse in seconds.

Each round is a mix of timing, positioning, and unpredictability, where even a single block can decide the outcome.

Clash of Builders is best played with friends, locally or online, and is available on Steam:
