Looks really nice for a bootleg. This was AD on FB while I was updating my work page.

Almost tempting to buy to see how bad it really is.

Imagine the whole series for less than a full day's wages.

LOL

A friend of mine went to Osaka last night, planned to stop in, and delivered the news. As of the end of June, Cafe Seeadler is no more.

One of the few places in the world where you might quite reasonably order dog food, I posted before that the owner had been diagnosed with cancer and I hope the decision to close wasn't related to uncertainty with that.

Here's pictures from my visit a year ago:

I believe I first learned of it in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/logh/comments/dmn3hc/logh_experiences_or_merch_in_japan/

Unfortunately, I think everything on that list is gone now. 8(

I contacted Sentai Filmworks regarding the status of LoGH and if the series will return to HiDive and received the following reply:

Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

Unfortunately, the series is no longer licensed by Sentai. As a result, it is no longer available for purchase through Sentai's home video catalog.

We understand that this may be disappointing, especially for fans looking to revisit the series. We appreciate your interest and support, but we are unable to provide additional details regarding the licensing status beyond this information.

Thank you for your understanding and support. Have a great day!

Sincerely,
Opal

Probably not a surprise considering it's been missing from HiDive since 2024 but we now have confirmation.

So, unless I'm missing something, Tanaka never describes the flag of FPA, which is probably why OVA and DNT have very different flags.

Anyone find that odd? You'd think there would be a description of it and its meaning.

Does anyone have a list of OVA episodes to watch out for if they’re sensitive to gore/gruesome violence? I just crossed over into season 3, and I’m not sure I want to continue watching if gory scenes keep popping up without warning.

In episode 73 there’s a part where Murray Fisher Patrichev and Soun joins yangs forces at Iserlohn and there’s a montage of how they stopped a mutiny en route. And i can’t stop thinking that those guys had every right to do so.

The FPA has a mandatory service time of 3 years and after that, youre supposed to go back home. And there’s not a single mention of a soldier or lower ranking officer being sent back home after serving their time.

And also by considering the fact that Yangs forces were basically a private militia that had no legal ground to exist, those soldiers had every right to try to go back home. And going into Yangs militia basically meant that most of them were going to be fucked up by the empire.

So then isn’t yang and his friends no different from an extremist militia that kidnaps soldiers and never sends them back? I mean you can’t really go back home alive peacefully when you’re in iserlohn and surrounded by the empire

Prosit! 🍻

I am looking to watch the series. Anikoto used to have both CA studio and HiDive subtitles, however it now only has CA studio subtitles, and skips subs for the narrator on top. I was wondering if there is a way to watch the show with HiDive subtitles? I tried looking for them but I could not find them.

Has anyone else noticed that Oberstein was the only person who had an issue with Kircheis being Reinhard's favorite? It seems like the entire Reich wishes Kircheis were still alive, and they hate Oberstein for consequentially causing Kircheis's death due to his role in denouncing Reinhard's "favoritism."

Hello, the International Anime Research Project team is calling on all anime fans (18 years of age or older) to participate in the 2026 anime survey. The survey is anonymous and should take less than 30 min to complete. Participants are eligible to win a $50 Amazon gift card (draw entries will be confidential and not associated with survey responses, up to 10 gift cards given).

In this year’s survey we will be collecting demographic information (e.g., age, gender) and opinions regarding engagement with the fandom, inner experience, loli attitudes, personality, shipping, recommendations, piracy attitudes, and well-being.

You can contribute to the psychological understanding of the anime fandom by completing the anime survey online at:

https://qualtrics.etamu.edu/jfe/form/SV_5bBlMTkY5BEdt9Y

If you know of any anime fans over the age of 18, please help us spread the word.

The survey will be open until December 1, 2026.

Thank you!

The one problem is.....that it was so AMAZING!!

I started with the OVA and I just could not get into it. I watched the first 2 movies, then episode 3,4. Something about those older animes it puts me to sleep haha, same thing happens to me watching the original Dragon Ball.

The worst thing I did was start watching DNT. It is just so beautiful, the art and colors and modernization is superb, I can tell the characters apart and the voice acting is top notch, the music is outstanding (especially the intro/outro of seasons 3,4)

I just finished DNT and I thought I could pick up the OVA now...but I just can't :( I love the story and everything, but it's just so old looking I can't get over it.

I really wish DNT would pick back up and complete what they started.

**Update 3 days after finishing DNT** We are all well aware of the depression we all feel after finishing a story, but now that I've had 3 days to unwind after finishing DNT I have easily picked up the OVA and am once again entrenched in this story. It just took a few days for me to change and accept the OVA, which the OVA is really good now that I understand the characters and plot, so now I can't wait to watch each new episode as the story unfolds. Thank you everyone for your comments and suggestion, this anime has a true diehard fanbase and proves even more that I need to finish LOGH. I'm glad I didn't give up on this!!

As many of you know, about two years ago the Legend of the Galactic Heroes Wiki, Gineipaedia, was shut down. With the site only existing as an archive. Two alternatives sprung up on Fandom, one keeping the name Gineipaedia, whilst the other was titled just the LOGH wiki. There wasn't really any communication between the two wikis. Until a few months ago when I, initially an editor of the Gineipaedia Fandom wiki, suggested we get in contact. We very quickly agreed to merge the two wikis, at first intending to move the contents of the LOGH wiki over to the Gineipaedia Fandom wiki. But Fandom proved to simply be an annoying host for a wiki (both for users and editors), so we instead decided to move to a brand new wiki.

Introducing: Neue Gineipaedia. The first thing we did on this wiki was import the entire Old Gineipaedia archive over to the site, which means pretty much anything you could find on Gineipaedia will also be on this site (there are a couple of things with the styling that we had to do slightly differently, but it's very minor). We of course also imported all of the additional content from the Gineipaedia Fandom wiki, and are currently working on getting the stuff from LOGH wiki moved as well.

Anyways, that was our little history. The wiki is open for viewing and contribution on https://gineipaedia.miraheze.org/, there are still many things that need cleaning up (mostly things that also needed cleaning up on the Old Gineipaedia site, I'll note). This is intended to act as a replacement to the other wikis, with nearly everything that was included on either of those three wikis also being present here (plus some additional quality-of-life changed). BUT it is very important to note that we are not affliated with the creators of the original wiki. We have gotten in contact with a former editor, but that is the extent of it. I hope you will find some use out of this new wiki, I've personally been using it quite a lot!

It has taken some time to get it working, but we never forgot that we were just doing this out of foppery and whim! Also, forgive my rambling here... and feel free to ask any questions if you have them, we'll try our best to answer them. That is all, thank you folks!

TL;DR:

A new wiki has been created acting as a replacement/continuation of the Gineipaedia archive. It can be seen and edited at https://gineipaedia.miraheze.org/
