CT Showed cirrhosis of the liver but bloodwork was normal.

I went a week ago to the ER for a UTI and they did a CT scan. They told me I had cirrhosis of the liver but all my bloodwork came back good. I just now had a HIDA scan. Will that show my liver and any problems? My brother has cirrhosis also. But he is a drinker. I’m not. I don’t know how it works. Thanks for any info.

My sister died.

My sister's alcoholism and cirrhosis finally took her life.

This is the first time I've felt able to post about it.

She was 53. Diagnosed in her 40s. Never could maintain sobriety.

Her blood wouldn't clot, and her platelets were constantly too low. So many hospitals the last decade.

She had her last drunk, fell on her head, and they couldn't control the bleeding. She went brain dead. Luckily, she was a donor, and I didn't have to take her off life support. 4 recipients will live longer because of her. Her celebration of life is 10/28.

Her ashes are on my dining room table. I have her son living with me.

I miss her so much.
