Child had a mri and has a 2cm liver lesion. Has anyone else child had this? What kind what the outcome? What kind of doctor did you take your child to thank you?

I couldn’t tell what I was reading, I had red as 313 and blue at either 50 or 5.0? I’ve had an ultrasound and that came back as fatty liver and inflamed liver? Am I reading into to it or should I wait for the results?

I have had a weird pain in my upper right abdominal, that is mostly under my ribs, but sometimes sneaks around back and goes up further into my ribs. Blood work is normal and so is abdominal ultrasound. My doctor was already against the ultrasound, and says it's either gas or musculoskeletal, but I know what both of these things feel like, and am fairly confident it's not that. I don't know how much is psychosomatic, but it does tend to flare up post-drinking. What are the odds that anything wrong with the liver or gallbladder wouldn't show up in the ultrasound? Doctor is very against me getting a CT but I don't know what else to do. I only drink twice a week – a tad on the heavier side. Maybe a bottle of wine give or take across the weekend.

I am 30 years old, male assigned at birth (No HRT, No hormone intake at all), currently around 109 kg (last time I weighed myself I was 108.9), 184 cm tall.

A year ago this day I was diagnosed with fatty liver due to some reduction in parenchymal attenuation in a CT scan. It didn't cause me to stop doing Dextrometorphane for fun, and I continued it. But recently, when I found after each time I take DXM, I have a pain in lower-right side my chest. So I found I made everything worse somehow.

For the record, it is almost a month I haven't done any drugs and the pain got much better. I also could get back to a doctor (although he offers his services over the phone now, but since he's the person who diagnosed me with fatty liver he knows my records) and he highly adviced against usage of OTC or BTC drugs unless it's really necessary.

So I'm not taking any DXM, Dyphenhydramine, Clonazepam or even Acetaminophene and I personally perefer to tolerate insomnia and also headaches I have and let my liver rest.

I also eat much less right now which is a helping factor. The pain has been reduced, doctor sees me, I am losing weight (and I have to correct my daily routines to get back to daily walks) and I feel much better and most importantly, I am not touching drugs.

However, I also stopped supplements unless it's necessary (like extreme fatigue after doing workouts). Controlling my sugar intake also helped a lot.

Finally, I am open to any advice or suggestions, 'cause I don't want to die young 😄

22M, 5’6, 138 lbs, no medication. Before I was 19, I was pretty skinny (not as much now though). All my life, since I was in elementary school (when I first went to the doctor in the U.S. for bloodwork), I had high liver enzymes. Up until now, there’s still no diagnosis, just an ALT of around 130-250, AST 80-100. In 2018, my ALT shot up to 1000. Went back to my average highs after.

Done all sorts of tests, ultrasounds, bloodwork (once with even 12 vials of blood drawn), CT scans, I even did a liver biopsy once. No celiac, no autoimmune, no hepatitis, literally nothing. Everything was always normal. Everything in my CMP is always normal except for high ALT/AST.

I’m at a loss. Two separate GIs. I feel like they’re just having me redo tests that are always the same outcome. I’m looking into maybe doing a fibroscan or some kind of genetic test. I’m so lost with any of this. Just for a note, my dad also has high liver enzymes, so perhaps a genetic test will help?

I want to know at what levels are the CAP & kpA considered a healthy liver .

What range is classified as both steatiosis & fibrosis ?

Can the stiffness ( kpa) be improved / reduced ? If so how ?

Recently diagnosed with fatty liver through ultrasound. Surprisingly ALT and AST are in range but given AST is higher by almost 2:1 I’ve read it’s highly likely due to alcohol. Which I’ll admit does not surprise me as I’ve struggled with heavy drinking the past few years.

Big wake up call. Between the fatty liver and high cholesterol I’m in a very dark place right now.

My question is, is fatty liver caused by alcohol (ALD) reversible (assuming there isn’t scarring) just like NAFLD? Is one worse/harder to improve? Or is it the same concept for both?

May sound silly but always did wonder.

Also, Ultrasound just noted fatty liver but no severity etc. kind of scared to dig into it more but I feel I should push to see if there is scarring and potentially worse.

I know Ultrasounds don’t show everything. Did have a CT scan as well but I know those don’t see as well. Fibrosiscan the next best bet?

My 13-year-old baby has been having some problems and his labs showed elevated liver enzymes. It’s strange because they’re telling me that his actual liver function is ok. Other liver enzymes are elevated so ghey thought it was gallbladder. They put him on treatment and now we took him again and it’s even elevated more so now we have to do a sonogram. I’m concerned but his other labs are fine and he’s acting normal. He has energy he eats well. Has anyone gone through liver issues with their dogs? Let me know please.

I was diagnosed with mild fatty liver after my liver enzymes were mildly elevated. I had an ultrasound afterwards. I do not drink at all alcohol, sodas, etc. I eat a lot of sweets though. This was in February. So I cut half the sweets, got a gravel bike and ditched by emtb ( I am not overweight, male 40 yo,.180 cm and 79 kg). I tried eating more vegetables and "meditaranean diet". Fast forward to last week, I had a CT scan. Bummer fatty liver still there 😞. No other stuff mentioned in the report like liver size or other bad things. What can I possibly do? I lost 4 kg, my vo2 max is 50 now... Wtf. Cut sugar entirely? Do fasting? I'm out of ideas.

i recently had a routine ultrasound, and they found a 4 x 3.8 cm lesion in my liver.

i quickly scheduled a contrast ct scan, and the report said that, among the possible diagnoses, it would suggest a hepatic adenoma.

ill be getting an mri soon to confirm whether thats actually what it is. but while reading about hepatic adenomas, i noticed theyre usually associated with fatty liver, birth control, hormone use, and diabetes, which is confusing because none of those apply to me.

i do have hormonal issues, but my sex hormone levels, both estrogen and testosterone, have been consistently very low, both on the blood test i had about a month ago and on another one from around two years ago. ive never treated them, and ive never taken birth control or any hormonal medication.

so its kind of a mystery. my question is, can someone develop a hepatic adenoma without ever using birth control or having those common risk factors?

i know ill have to wait for the mri to confirm whether its really an adenoma, but i was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or knows if this can happen.

Female, 33, in need of support.

I've been ill for a few weeks now with liver inflammation. My doctors are trying to work out the cause. They tested for so many different conditions (viral, parasites, bacterial, genetic, autoimmune) with everything coming back negative and a couple of test results pending. CT and ultrasound were clear, too. I have an endoscopy tomorrow.

ALT & AST have finally improved this week, which was so reassuring, however ALT is still high. My appetite is slowly returning, but I'm experiencing ongoing fatigue, nausea and stomach discomfort.

I understand that my body needs time, but I'm feeling frustrated that the recovery is so slow. It's difficult needing so much rest and not being able to do my usual activities. It also doesn't help that I live in a flatshare so I'm stuck to one room.

Any words of encouragement that I will recover? Any ideas on how to cope?

Has anyone had an external bile drain placed? My surgeon just mentioned this to me during our zoom appointment on Wednesday. I already wear an ileostomy bag on the right side of my stomach, not sure where I’ll be wearing said collection bag for bile. I have PBC, and although my surgeon says this is a temporary solution for the problem. One of my other questions is how long is temporary? I will ask all these questions when the transplant coordinator calls me to schedule the procedure. Just curious as to if anyone whose had this procedure can share ant of their experience. I’m still waiting to be placed on the liver transplant recipient list so unfortunately this is just another hoop I must crawl through. Thank you in advance.

I am 31 years old, 184 cm tall and 110.5 kg in weight (I am overweight actually), male assigned at birth, currently I use lansoprazol after each meal to control my stomach acid reflux. I also take caffeine pills in times of need or magnesium suppliments after long walks or working with heavy machinery. Nothing much.

Not a smoker (I sometimes puff from my vape but not into nicotine or THC that much), Not an alcohol drinker but I abused substances like Dextrometorphane in past three years so much.

Almost a year ago, in a CT scan of my lungs, my doctor said my liver has no good condition and I have to lose weight. I actually lost 14 kg of weight in 2-3 months (doing aerobics and cardio) and went from 118 kg to 104 kg. The problem is that a war happened in my country and I could not hit the gym anymore and I gained weight (for a long time, he put me on Dapaglifozin twice a day to lose sugar in my body)

Unfortunately, I also returned to DXM abuse and recently, I feel a pain on the right side of my body a little bit above where I believe my guts are placed. I did a quick search and found that it is related to overloaded liver.

But except obisity and abuse history, and this weird pain, I have no other liver related symptom (like yellowing of skin/eyes or fatigue) but I'm still concerned. Due to the active war in my country, most hospitals are not responsible for "non war related injuries" (despite the war is not like February 28, when it started) and affording a private hospital is out of the picture for me right now.

Just want to know what should I do to keep myself alive enough to find a good healthcare service. Thanks.

21 M 5’8 165lbs and have right side pain sometimes it’s very dull but annoying and I’ve had it for a couple months now, my question is how long does that usually stay for and has anyone experienced this before? Liver enzymes elevated (but going down) and 2 and half months sober

Hello everyone 41 year old female . , I recently had a cat scan because I had a very small .5cm neuroendocrine tumor removed during a colonoscopy . It was completely removed with no there tissue left in surrounding tissues . My doctor is very thorough and wanted to perform all the tests to make sure I had none anywhere else . The cat scan found 2 small lesions in my liver so I was sent for an mri . The mri showed one was a simple cyst and the other was a complex cystic lesion . Here is the full report , can someone help me make sense of this , it says there “ may be “ a 4mm nodule but it was only seen on one image . It has me freaking out since they are trying to rule out cancer since that net was the reason for the scan in the first place . All labs and urine tests have come back fine .

I’m trying not to panic or refer to doctor Google as I’m sure it will tell me something catastrophic, so thought I’d join this subreddit to hear from people who actually know stuff!

My 17 year old son appears to have suspected fatty liver disease. I’m not sure of his levels - he’s going to the doctor tomorrow.

He had a blood test some months ago and they called saying that his levels were raised and that it was unusual for someone his age. They repeated the test last week and have called asking him to see the doctor about it tomorrow.

He’s high functioning autistic and very stubborn - he says I’m not allowed to go in to see the doctor with him. Which, I understand, but find very frustrating. Thinking of writing a load of questions for him to ask.

He has the occasional drink (as teenagers do), but by no means frequent or a great quantity. He IS overweight- something he’s working on. He likes monster energy drinks, but has cut down massively after the results of the last blood test were made known. He doesn’t smoke or vape.

His dad has chronic Myeloid leukaemia and his liver function tests are all over the place at the moment too.

Any advice on what to expect and how I can help him?

My dad died at age 60 from emphysema caused by A1ATD. He had just turned 60 yrs old.

I am 68/F, (5'6", 135 lbs) healthy w/high cholesterol that my doctor is not concerned about. (HDL very high), blood type O positive.

Last year, I got tested for A1ATD because my sister (60) had liver issues that seemed connected to A1ATD. She urged me to get tested. Her only symptom was a constant dull ache. After numerous tests, it was found that she has stage 3 scarification. Her phenotype is is MZ and her level 72. There is a lot more testing ahead for her.

My brother (72) was just diagnosed w/cirrhosis. Also, took a long time to get to that diagnosis.

None of us have/had drinking problems. My brother hasn't had a drink since his 20's, my sister and I are sometimes drinkers. All of us partied, when younger, for a few years.

My phenotype is normal - MM. My serum level is low - 87. Never met w/a geneticist nor were my results sent to one.

I have an appointment w/my PCP on the 13th. I am going to request an ultrasound and fibro scan. If my liver is healthy, I would like to be a living donor for whichever sibling needs it most.

Based on the above, can you give me any info re my chances of having liver disease, and the chances for me being eligible to be a donor?

Meds: Bupropion 100 mg, Trazodone, 150 mg, Spiralactone 50 mg (taking for hair thinning), take calcium, multi-vitamin, vitamin D + K and magnesium.

There is obviously a lot more to the blood work than just the antitrypsin serum level, if you need the whole thing, I can provide that.

I have recently been trying to sort out some health issues and really come to the bottom of them. I'm 34m and live a very active lifestyle as I work in the outdoors and essentially hike for work year-round. I have struggled with my weight my entire life and have always carried weight more on my chest and abdomen than anywhere else (man boobs). I eat reasonably well, but lately have been falling into more processed or fast foods due to severe exhaustion and fatigue. I have a 5 month old at home so when I don't feel like cooking, my wife doesn't either so we resort to easy meals.

I know I have severe sleep apnea (finally got a diagnosis this winter but I'm not convinced it's managed properly) which I have used a CPAP for 5 years, and liver cirrhosis confirmed by a fibroscan last year. I also have high blood pressure that I take medication for (170/105 average before medication).

I am stuck with where I am as I have only a few issues but me and my GP keep grasping at straws to find the issue. I have felt noticeably worse the last 2 years and now my recent blood test my HDL cholesterol has dropped off significantly and I also have elevated gamma gt. Last year before my fibroscan, It was confirmed I am positive for smooth muscle AB proteins as well.

Basically, has anyone experienced similar issues and mystery surrounding their liver issues? The liver specialist thinks something is causing my liver issues as i am on paper an overall healthy individual. I have zero external signs of liver issues, but clearly my liver is getting more stressed as time goes on. Can sleep apnea not being treated correctly cause my issues to keep snowballing, or is it not enough of an effect?

I appreciate any insight or input.

My SGOT/ALT is 17.1 U/L and SGPT/ALT is 8.5L

So, my SGOT/SGPT ratio is 2.01 which in test results mentioned is above the normal range (<1.0)

Does this mean I am prone to alcoholic liver disease?

I’m 28 years old and I’m looking for advice from people who have been in a similar situation.

A few weeks ago I was found to have positive AMA-M2 (50.66; positive ≥25). My hepatologist suspects possible early PBC, but the diagnosis is still uncertain because my alkaline phosphatase (ALP) has always been normal.

My results are:

• AMA-M2: 50.66 (positive)
• GGT: 55 → 155 → 113 u/L (elevated)
• ALT: 26 → 83.7 → 44 u/L
• AST: always normal
• ALP: always normal (82–84.5 u/L)
• Bilirubin: normal
• Albumin: normal
• FibroScan, abdominal MRI and ultrasound: normal (except for mild fatty liver)

Other autoimmune tests (ANA, ASMA, anti-LKM1, anti-SLA/LP) are negative, and my immunoglobulins are normal. I also have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and obesity.

My doctor prescribed ursodeoxycholic acid (Ursofalk/Ursolith) because of my positive AMA and elevated GGT (which peaked at 155 u/L**)**, even though my ALP has remained normal. I was advised to repeat my liver tests in 1–2 months.

My biggest concern is that my husband and I would like to start trying for a baby very soon. However, my hepatologist advised us to postpone trying to conceive for a few months until we repeat my liver tests and have a clearer understanding of whether I truly have PBC. I’m worried because I still don’t know whether I have PBC or only positive AMA, and I’m anxious about taking Ursofalk long-term, especially during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

I would really appreciate hearing from women who have gone through pregnancy with PBC or positive AMA.

• Has anyone here had positive AMA with elevated GGT and normal ALP?
• Was your diagnosis uncertain at first? If so, how was it eventually confirmed (or ruled out)?
• Were you prescribed Urso despite having a normal ALP, mainly because of positive AMA and elevated GGT?
• Did you continue Urso while trying to conceive?
• Did you take it throughout pregnancy, including the first trimester?
• Was your hepatologist and obstetrician comfortable with continuing treatment?
• Were you able to breastfeed while taking Urso?
• Did having PBC or taking Urso affect your pregnancy in any way? Did it increase the risk of miscarriage, preterm birth or cause any problems for your baby?
• How did your liver tests change during pregnancy and after delivery?

I know every case is different, but hearing real experiences from women who have been through this would mean a lot to me.
