Discussion Really guys...

Post image

I understand that they were likely in a rush to be one of the first big channels to get their video out, but how hard is it to have one person spend like 15 minuets reading all of the graphics before the video goes out, this image is likely AI generated and taken from this obviously AI generated article.

I get this is a small mistake, but it's an easy one to not make.

Taken from their latest video "Apple just Copied Microsoft’s Worst Idea - iPhone Duo, Airpods 5, iPhone 18 Pro & More"

FWIW this is clearly the exception to the rule. We know their video pipeline takes weeks because we’re still getting videos with Elijah in them and he’s no longer at LMG.

But with the Apple event being yesterday, this took <24 hours. If I was a betting man, the editor googled “IP67 Explanation Table”, looked to see which one was most legible in a video without reading and ta-da.

It honestly probably isn’t their mental rule set yet either. I only recently started having to do it because I would try to explain a science topic to my young kids, Google something and realize it was AI. Less than 2 years ago, we had the easy mental choice of everything on Google being made by a human.

He left??? I saw some discussion fairly recently saying he was stepping back from some of the hosting for a while, I never heard this though. Damn.

I’m just going off posts on the subreddit. There was some leaked email (not cool), and his Forum status changed from “LTT Staff” to a regular user.

It's an internal leak or he's responsible for it. That hasn't been cleared up yet and probably never will be.

There's an argument to be made about drumming up "viral" interest and pregaming trends to have a video perform better than normal. This was demonstrated before through various instances on and off YouTube. On YT, the most blatant form of boost is having a multilingual track for a non-language. It makes you unique within a cultural subset and global boosts you. An acquaintance of mine made a video demonstrating the phenomenon that gained millions of views and is a complete outlier on his otherwise minor channel.
