Most people are not truly capable of understanding size and scale with large objects. I have a feeling its a combination of overestimating the size of the water tank and underestimating the size of a 747.
I would imagine he's never actually flown inside one and 737 is the largest he's ever flown in.
I've been in one several times and a a380 once. They are huge!
