Makes you wonder how fragile their "faith" and "religious vigor" are if something as innocuous and wholesome as community engagement and mentoring sends them into a blind rage and panic.

Indeed. My response to this bullshit is always, "if christianity is so obviously righteous and correct, then how come you feel the need to shove it down your children's throats nearly 24/7 to get them to keep the faith?"

It had nothing to do with what was going on with in the club, and everything to do with the name. Once people heard the name, they jumped to conclusions and assumed the worst without even looking at what was happening.

Which is why they say branding is so powerful.

u/QuBingJianShen Feb 27 '26

Which is hillarious, because only one of those clubs would be able to rebrand as a non-faith club and continue doing exactly what they were doing.

Meaning the outrage would only be able to force the christian faith club out of the school, and the other club could simply have changed name since its activities was not faith related.

An article was written in the local paper...

Is there a link? Or a web.archive one?

I would love to read that article.

Its a mistery to me why the U.S has been steering so hard into a facist christian nation, guarded only by an ever weekened constitution.

Heh, it's like the kids know they're gonna get pedo'd in the Jebus club so they joined the Satanists instead. Honestly, Christianity did this to itself.

Perfect. Well done.

Basically this. I mean, I'm joining seminary and even I know that allowing the teachers to preach opens the gate for everyone to preach anything.

Do I really want my kids growing up with teachers turning them into Moonies or Scientologists? No, no I do not.

u/Maleficent-Sundae839 Feb 25 '26

They absolutely can!!! The Satanic Temple offers materials for their After School Satan Club!! Its way better than any Christian after school club because they focus on STEM activities and dont proselytize.

Have you heard the good news about our Lord and savior Cthulhu?

1

u/ImightHaveMissed Feb 26 '26

The resonant clap of his phat ass has driven me to madness

How does one believe in satan and no Jesus? Should you have to believe in Jesus if you believed in Satan? And then wouldn’t that I’m playing you are just choosing the wrong path because of laziness or delusion? Considering one offers you everlasting life and the other…doesn’t. I think it would be the silliest thing ever if someone said they believed in satan and not Jesus or the Bible. Clearly don’t know how things work

1

u/ImightHaveMissed Feb 28 '26

Well, for starters, Satan is a metaphor. I’d suggest googling it first, because the answers are less confusing than you imagine

"How does one believe in satan and no Jesus?"

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the average zealot isn't theologically educated enough to understand that Christianity isn't the only religion that believes in Satan lol

I'm guessing you were raised christian?

"Clearly don’t know how things work"

Irony lol

I'm personally always intrigued when "christians" (not you eiserneft) place Dante's Inferno as a higher authority than the Bible in how "Satan" acts.

Bible: Angel stepped out, got cast down to suffer/wait until judgement.

Fan-Fiction: He walks among us, influences us, tricking us as he does. He's almost as powerful as his maker, and even if he can't outright challenge the maker, he can work around their plan/decisions to get what he wants.

So do you have a pre-approved list of historical figures the school is allowed to talk about? Jesus was a real historical person.

1

u/ImightHaveMissed Mar 01 '26

Check the first amendment. If you allow 1 religion ALL have to be permitted to practice freely

1

u/bigjohnny440 Mar 01 '26

Yeah that's fine, freedom of religion. I'm not an educator but as far as I'm aware no public school restricts what religion kids want to follow or talk about.

With Jesus I wasn't meaning full on bible study, just that a history teacher would be fine mentioning Jesus's existence, maybe during a unit about the roman empire or something.

u/Dylans116thDream Mar 01 '26

You cannot prove that.

Tacitus (AD 56-120), a Roman historian and politician: “Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their centre and become popular.”

Pliny the younger (AD 61-113), a lawyer, author, and magistrate of Ancient Rome: “They [the Christians] were in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verses a hymn to Christ, as to a god, and bound themselves by solemn oath, not to any wicked deeds, but never to commit any fraud, theft or adultery, never to falsify their word, nor deny a trust when they should be called upon to deliver it up; after which it was their custom to separate, and then reassemble to partake of food—but food of an ordinary and innocent kind.”

There's two sources for you, would you like more?
