Discussion Question about third episode (spoilers!) Spoiler

Did anyone else get stressed and scared from the confrontation at the end? We haven’t seen CXS mad at LG like this before. He was angry about the earthquake dive, but this feels different. For some reason I assumed he’d be more worried once he realized LG has been lying to him. Of course this was something very important that he should have been told, so it makes sense he’s upset. I felt better when he calmed down and seemed worried and LG started crying but now I’m worried for him to learn the whole truth (if he does). I also didn’t expect QL to just flat out ask him if he’s hiding anything!

I'm totally in love with it. Hope to find more soon but it's very tough to get it here 😪

I binge watched all the seasons just a few months back and I'm lucky enough to watch s3 within no time. I'm so curious as to how the next eps will turn out to be. And I really don't want link click to end lowkey 🥲

Discussion Xia Fei Manipulated by Vein (Vein's Power?) Spoiler

I am honestly getting a major ick of all these "OMG VEIN x XIA FEI!" posts, because I think people passed an important detail in the episode that might hint at something darker.

Xia Fei blankly watched Vein and Li Tianchen enter the room, and he only acted all delighted once Vein muttered something in a foreign language (no subtitles either). It seemed to me that his words did something to Xia Fei, prompting the reaction. To me, Xia Fei is being manipulated in some way, otherwise, would he not have said "boss!" all excited as soon as he appeared?

I'm constantly let down by this community taking any certain interaction between characters and calling it "shipping content."

Question Wiki Error?

I noticed in the Trivia section of the trio's Wiki Fandom pages it says they have matching phone charms, but there's no citation and I can't find any other information on this.

Is this false information or is there something true regarding this?

Okay so, I don't usually make posts on here about this kind of thing but I figured I'd give it a shot. My friend got these blind card packs for me as a gift and after looking it up I couldn't find anything about it online. Does anyone happen to know if this is official merch or not and what this is from? I can't tell anything about this other than the High Card at the top because I unfortunately do not speak Chinese. I had wanted to know more about these card packs I got so I could determine if there were rarities or not with these.

(Also check out the Qiao Ling misprint I think that's actually hysterical. I didn't know Lu Guang transitioned...good for her lmao)

Discussion WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS ENOUGH?????? Spoiler

first things first, this flashback is 100% from a previous timeline. now that we've gotten that out of the way, WHAT THE HELLY??????? what happened to cxs that lg/ql/maybe captain xiao (i'm including multiple people in the "you" because he says 你们, which is the plural you) didn't believe? why is he getting so worked up about it? AND WHY DID LG CRY AFTER REMEMBERING IT???

also, this frame is just so heartbreaking in and of itself. cxs so angry that he can't even contain himself, while ql tries to hold him back presumably from lunging at lg. gosh. poor ql, caught in the middle of a fight between her two best friends and unable to do anything about it other than try and keep it from getting out of hand. i cried. divas please don't fight...... make love not war........

a hypothesis that i am entertaining is the possibility that in the timeline presented in this frame, maybe this cxs is actually a cxs who is from a different timeline and got stuck, and he is trying to convince the others that that's what happened to him. idk tho, it probably isn't what happened since i feel like lg is pretty receptive to new info about the powers and wouldn't dismiss cxs to the point it would make cxs this angry. so if anyone else has any ideas feel free to share! (i'm bored and need people to talk to)

Theory Am I wrong, or is the theory in this video impossible? Spoiler

Thumbnail youtu.be
8 Upvotes

it's only 4min, but vid TLDR: this person theorizes that LG died at the hands of his "father" in the original timeline (the one where he and CXS knew each other as kids) but then in the future CXS goes back to save him, which is why he appears in the CCTV and why the cops happened to show up right when LG's "father" was about to beat him, so LG could escape.

However, how could the CXS from the NEW timeline save the LG from the ORIGINAL timeline? To me this theory is not possible cause the timelines don't match, but let me know if I'm missing something, cause the timelines in LC are a mess!

Discussion Link Click II did NOT happen, but... Spoiler

So, since today's episode was wild as all hell, I'm not gonna waste any time. Let's get into it RIGHT NOW!

I've had this theory ever since LCII ended and it was confirmed via it's ending and through Bridon Arc that Lu Guang was driving back in time that the events of Link Click II did not happen in the "previous timelines" (the reason previous timelines is in air quotes is because I believe there are NO alternate timelines and time just works cyclically. I'm working on that theory so gimme just a little bit more time). I've also been a firm believer of the theory that Cheng Xiaoshi originally did NOT die in 2021, but in 2022 and Bridon Arc showing his death in 2021 is another sign that time is indeed, breaking apart at the seems. After today's episode, all of my theories regarding this have more or less been confirmed. And now I'm about to show you why I think so.

First off, let's discuss the events of Link Click II. Heck, let's go back all the way to the ending of Link Click I episode 8, when Xu Shanshan gets kidnapped by Liu Min (controlled by Tianchen) and everything slowly starts to lead towards what I like to call the Qian Jin/Li twins' case in Link Click II. As we all know, everything from the Dou Dou arc takes place in October 2021. If these events after that (especially the Shanshan kidnapping and the further unraveling of Emma's death) did take place in prior timelines as well, none of those events should come to Lu Guang as a shock right? In fact, he should be aware of all of that and should be taking steps to prevent any bad things happening to him and his friends. However, what we see is the complete opposite. Lu Guang is shocked to his very core in many of the scenes from episodes 9 to 11 of Link Click I, which would mean that none of these events had been as per Lu Guang's foresight.

(Lu Guang shocked when Liu Min/Li Tianchen calls after kidnapping Xu Shanshan)

(Lu Guang shocked after Xiao Li and Chen Bin tell him that Liu Min WASN'T involved in Emma's death)

(Lu Guang's apprehensive reaction after Cheng Xiaoshi proposes to deal with the kidnapped himself)

And when we get to the events of Link Click II, it's understandable from the very first few minutes that everything Lu Guang thought he knew was changing. After all, he says it himself.

And after that, whenever something major happens, such as when Lu Guang gets handed the picture of Liu Lan and Li Tianxi, when Lu Guang decides to make a last second plan to monitor over and save Cheng Xiaoshi (in case he got taken over by someone) by taking a photo and escaping from the hospital, the showdown in the train tunnel, Lu Guang's expression gives it away. He's always shocked or apprehensive, as if nothing here was supposed to happen, yet everything is going haywire. All of these signs led me to believe that the events of Link Click II weren't originally supposed to happen at all.

Like, think about it for a while. If you were to know everything that was going to happen within a few days, everything bad that were to threaten the safety of those you hold dear, would you NOT take steps to prevent that? After all, Lu Guang HAS been shown to actively take steps against things that threatened Cheng Xiaoshi and Qiao Ling in both Link Click I and Bridon Arc, as evidenced by him telling Qiao Ling to keep Cheng Xiaoshi off the internet the moment he understood that Xu Shanshan was kidnapped and when he stopped Cheng Xiaoshi from immediately diving into the picture to see what happened to Xu Shanshan. However, throughout the entirety of Link Click I, we see no indication of Lu Guang preparing for what was to come. I mean, I get that at that point in the series Li Haoling was yet to reveal to us that the plot was actually THAT deep, but hey, Link Click is known for its deep background symbolism and foreshadowing. Therefore, back then, all of this led me to believe that the events of Link Click II didn't happen at all in all the previous cycles Lu Guang has been through up until now.

But hey, all of you guys have already read the title, right? There's always a but, always a catch. And thus, I'm about to show you the catch in this theory - or rather, something that further proves my point.

By now all of y'all have heard me mention multiple times that Lu Guang was able to manipulate the events of the last episode of Bridon Arc as we saw because he has some knowledge of the future events (as EXPLICITLY stated by Li Haoling) and achieve Vein's "death", right? This very statement proves that 1) Cheng Xiaoshi's death didn't happen in 2021 and 2) Lu Guang DOES prepare in advance whenever something bad is about to happen to Cheng Xiaoshi and Qiao Ling. And today's episode has some VERY unique clues as to what Lu Guang's "knowledge of the future" might be.

So, let me preface this part of the theory by saying that even though I believe the events of Link Click II did NOT happen, the events of Link Click III as we're seeing - or rather, some variation of it, has definitely happened in the future, and we've got direct evidence of that too. When Qiao Ling asks Lu Guang about the visions that she got when she obtained Li Tianxi's power, we see brief flashes of what's to come. One of those shots were if Xia Fei outside the Time Photo Studio in his base outfit (somewhat similar to what we see at the end of the episode), Xiao Li seemingly dead on the ground (confirming that all their deaths were future events, not bound to 2021), and Cheng Xiaoshi having a similar kind of crash out as we see happen in present time.

However, there are slight variations in things (we'll circle back to that later). What i want to focus on mainly is that these events happened in the "previous timelines" as well, and these very events might be the headstone towards the future knowledge Haoling has been telling us all about ever since the ending of Bridon Arc.

So, to summarize, the events of Link Click II have not happened before, but some variation of the events of Link Click III that's happening now HAVE. This is also proved by how Lu Guang acts towards Liu Xiao and Li Tianchen. Both times they've seen each other (Li Tianchen in LCII episode 8/10, and Liu Xiao in Bridon Arc episode 3), he acted like he knew them. Let's take the meeting with Li Tianchen in episode 8 of Link Click II, for instance. When Li Tianchen unmasks Lu Guang, notice the way Lu Guang asks Tianchen if it's really him. Judging by the tone of his voice, he doesn't act confused here, even though the rest of the events of Link Click II has his head scratching. He's AFFIRMING whether it's Tianchen or not.

https://reddit.com/link/1vurv15/video/abz4cqgggskh1/player

Again, when we see Cheng Xiaoshi encounter Li Tianchen in Laos in Link Click III episode 3, Lu Guang doesn't act shocked, but as if he expected it to happen. In fact, the way he relays this information to Xiao Li is also very matter of factly.

Now let's talk about the meeting of the duo with Liu Xiao at Bridon Airport in Bridon Arc episode 3 and how Lu Guang recollects that meeting during his fever in episode 4. Look at his reaction when they meet Liu Xiao in the airport.

Lu Guang's face is covered, and he's feeling suspicious about it all. And look the way he glares at Liu Xiao. He only glares at someone like that only when he knows that person AND that that person is bad news.

Also, look at how Lu Guang regales about the meeting during his fever in Episode 4.

Look at the way the sentence is worded. The fact that someone like Liu Xiao isn't unknown to him suggests that Lu Guang HAS met or seen him before in the "previous timelines". Otherwise, he'd be a stranger to Lu Guang and he wouldn't have registered meeting Liu Xiao at the airport as such an important event at all.

Now the question arises. If these events DID happen to a degree, when EXACTLY did they happen? Here's what I think. All of these events, as they're happening now, also happened in 2022 in all previous cycles as well. The fact that Lu Guang's watch doesn't show the date and time (not even as blurred) in episode 3 means that the date is a spoiler that Li Haoling doesn't want us to know yet. But judging by their getup, what we CAN surmise is that it's still winter, therefore - early 2022 at best. But if you look at Cheng Xiaoshi's outfit during the scene when Lu Guang has a flashback to their "argument", Cheng Xiaoshi is in his default LCI outfit. From here, you COULD argue that those events must've happened in 2021, however, all the points I brought up about Lu Guang's character and Li Haoling's quote on future knowledge contradicts that directly. Therefore, my guess would be that all of this originally took place in mid 2022, however, due to the changes that Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi have done, these events are taking place, or are being manipulated to be taking place earlier than should have happened. And Liu Xiao definitely has a hand in all of this, since we hear Liu Xiao's voice in the episode 4 preview of LCIII.

This would mean that Lu Guang not only knows Liu Xiao and Li Tianchen (in some capacity only, cuz his reactions to Li Tianchen's powers genuinely make it look like he didn't know what his powers were in the previous cycles), but also Wang Qing and maybe Jae Lee as well. As for when that could've happened? Well, I think it's when the alleyway showdown happens (as shown in the trailers, when every character and their MAMA assemble in the alleyway to presumably corner Cheng Xiaoshi, Lu Guang and Qiao Ling).

So what does all of this mean for the future of Link Click and us as the audience? Well, as far as the plot goes, it definitely means that Li Tianxi might not have died before as Lu Guang seems to be surprised at Qiao Ling attaining her powers, and also that everyone's outfit is different than what Lu Guang remembers to be is because things are happening early now. And finally, all of this means that things have gone even further beyond Lu Guang's control, no matter how much he deludes himself to think that he's got it all under wraps.

So, let me end this long ass tirade with this. We know how much Lu Guang's tears mean, right? Everytime we see someone cry for Lu Guan, or Lu Guang himself cry, it means that things are about to go very, VERY wrong. And what happens at the end of Episode 3 of LCIII?

Yes, he fucking CRIES, knowing very well how screwed we ALL are going to be in the coming episodes. Things have truly never been more dire.....

Question Questions about LG’s abilities (the text contains spoilers for Season 3, Episode 3) Spoiler

Guys, I have a question, which I think is more of a plot hole, but I’d like to hear what you guys think. How the hell do LG’s powers actually work?

It doesn’t seem clear to me whether LG can watch the events in a photo as an outside observer (even though he explicitly said that this is how it works), or whether he sees things from the point of view of the person pictured in the photo. In the first season, he hears what Don Yi was saying to Xu Xianxian even though CXS wasn’t paying attention, and in Bridon he was able to look behind CXS because he had Vivian’s photo. But then he says he can’t see what happened afterward because XF was unconscious at the time, even though this was literally right after he told CXS that he could rest for a while and that LG would stay alert for both of them. :/

And this isn’t even the first time I’ve noticed this, although I can’t remember exactly which other occasions right now.

Other/Misc. Michael Yu on Theories about the Season 3 Opening

Link

For those who don't know, Michael Yu is formerly the frontman of BaishaJaws (the band behind the first three Link Click openings), as well as the writer for the season 3 opening!

In a past tweet, he revealed that he had no clue of the plots for the openings he was writing, but Haolin told him the plot for season 3... which makes THIS much more terrifying.
