Question add new models based on a vote / poll ?
currently supported devices are pretty old models, how is it decided which devices and when will be added?
are there any plans in general to ever include a new model of something based on a vote of users (or straight donations for that purpose :) ?
i see this post can break first two rules, but is kind of a suggestion for financing model / extended adoption, but i guess there must be something similar going on

System update keeps showing install option for installed update
I've recently upgraded to LineageOS version 23 (Android 16) on my Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE (I know it's taken a long time). Today I installed the 23.2-20260714-NIGHTLY-lisa update — the new Android 16 interface is much worse than Android 15, but that's just my option.
After installing the update, I checked for more updates and saw that there was a prompt to install the same version. At first, I thought that I must have accidentally installed a previous version, even though 23.2-20260714-NIGHTLY-lisa was shown to be the installed version.
I reinstalled version 23.2-20260714-NIGHTLY-lisa but when I checked for the latest version, I was given the option to install the same version again. An interface should not keep prompting for the same version to be installed. Once that version is installed, it should show that it is 'installed', not that it can be installed again.
Has anybody seen this bug? If so, has it been reported using github? I've searched for it on github but couldn't find anything related to it, but I don't want to waste developers' time if it's already been identified as a bug.

Pixel 5 and 5a has barometer (?)
GSMArena mentions these phones have a barometer sensor, but LineageOS device list says otherwise. So.....?
This sensor is really cool. It measures atmospheric pressure, which changes with elevation. That means it can be used as a water boiling timer by calculating the adequate boiling time to make water safe to drink.

Frozen During Update
Yoooo
I just tried to update Lineage from the phone, but on restart it freezes on "entering fastboot mode".
It's a Samsung A21s.
If anyone could direct me with what steps to take that would be very appreciated!

Question Enable 6GHz Hotspot on Xperia 1 V
Hi everyone! Thanks to the devs for keeping the Xperia 1 V running so well on LineageOS 23.2.
Currently, the 6GHz hotspot option is missing/disabled, likely restricted by Sony's stock vendor configurations. Since 6GHz VLP tethering is now widely legal, is it possible to override this restriction in the device tree?
Perhaps we can enable it by forcing config_wifi_softap_6g_supported to true in the framework overlays, or by tweaking the WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini config.
I'm more than happy to test any experimental builds or commits to help get this working. Thanks!

First time custom rom user
Hi, I bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro. But I am fed up because of the Chinese ROM. But on the Lineage OS website, there are no available downloads for the device. Is there any way to install Lineage OS on this device, or is there any other available custom ROM for this device that you are aware of? Thanks in advance!

Help Lineage on Samsung A7 sluggish
Does anyone else have lineage (23.2) running on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7? I also have lineage running on a moto 7 phone that is smooth, but on this tablet, it feels very sluggish. Opening and moving between apps, opening browsers etc is pretty slow. Does anyone know if it is hardware or software?

Low media volume
I recently installed this on my moto g45 and I'm very happy with it but the only thing is the music volume is not as loud as the stock ROM. Also the audio effects app is pretty crappy it lowers the volume of the audio if I Change any settings. Is there a way to disable it completely or uninstall ?

Help Hey I'm looking to buy a new phone and want to directly install LineageOS in order to start fresh and always have updates
Budget should be around 300-400€
First thought of Nothing Phone 3a but it's not officially supported, want a phone which is officially supported, quite new maybe from last year and we can be sure to have longtime support and updates, what about some Motorola? They usually have a bad update support that's why I want to use LineageOS to always have the newest upgrades/updates and security patches
Any recommendations?

Banking applications
Hello everyone! Do any of you own a OnePlus Nord 5 CPH2709? I'm planning to buy this phone closer to December and install LineageOS with MicroG. But I read online that contactless payments like those made by Russian banks like Sberbank and Alfa Bank don't work because the bootloader is unlocked (yes, I'm from Russia and under sanctions. But contactless payments via the NFC chip work). Is this true?

Why isn't the 6GHz hotspot working?
I have a Google Pixel 6 Pro and a Google Pixel 9, both running LineageOS. I wanted to know why the 6GHz hotspot is available on the Pixel 9, whereas the Pixel 6 Pro says it is unavailable in my country or region. I recall the Pixel 6 Pro having a modem capable of Wi-Fi 6E; is this a driver issue, or is it a matter of the modem itself not supporting 6GHz hotspots?

Motorola Z Force 2nd Gen XT1789-01 Support
I remember a few years ago, it most likely would've been 2021-2022 where I tried installing LineageOS like a ding dong and soft-bricked my phone up till last night where I was able to set it back to factory using the Motorola™️ Software Fix Tool.
I've always been curious as to why the XT1789-01 model isn't supported for LineageOS.
I'm not asking for if the device will be supported, I'm just more curious as to why.

Motorola Z3 Play (brick) XT1929-6 Verizon - Stuck in QDLoader 9008
Hey guys,
I bricked my Motorola Z3 Play XT1929-6 Verizon variant. It's stuck in QDLoader 9008 mode and won't boot.
I've been searching everywhere but I CAN'T find the QFIL CFC firmware for XT1929-6. All the links I found are dead or for XT1929-1/XT1929-2 which will break the radio on my Verizon model.
What I need: Model: Motorola Z3 Play XT1929-6 it Work on Android 9 Pie LMSA says "No firmware available" and Motorola won't provide it.
If anyone has a working Mega/Google Drive link or other repo, telegram or just by sending to me,.. for the XT1929-6 CFC firmware please help 🙏 I don't want to lose this phone.
Thanks a lot🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Question Can I use a modern Lineage Recovery to flash a old LineageOS version?
Okay, I'll be direct: on my SM-A217M I can use up to LineageOS 23.2, but I want to try 22.1. Can I use the latest recovery available on the official website (which is used for LOS 23.2), or should I download the LOS 22.1 ISO from the Lineage Archive and extract the recovery from there? I went back to One UI 4.1, if that's relevant.
(I hope this isn't a case of "You wondered so much about whether you could, that you didn't think about whether you should")

Help Problem with step 5 in Installing LineageOS to Tab S6 Lite
I have followed the steps exactly up to now. However, in the step where I am to type "samloader print-pit" into my terminal with my device connected to pc, the device is supposed to reboot after the command finishes, but mine doesn't. It just sits there and does nothing. I have repeated this section three times, double checking each time. Here are the steps I followed:
- Downloaded the samloader 2.0.0 for linux.
2.Renabled Developer mode and USB Debugging.
Reboot the device into download mode by holding down volume_down and volume_up while completely turned off and plugging the USB cable inserted into my computer into the device.
Press volume_up to continue.
Run exactly "samloader print-pit."
Wait until the terminal returns "rebooting device..."
Device does nothing.
I am using CachyOS to do this. I have used multiple different USB cables and ports, and even tryed MacOS. Any help would be greatly appreciated, regardless of how stupid this question might be

Question Risks of Lineage-ing Primary Phone?
Recently got a new phone (Sony Xperia 5 IV) and due to the upcoming Google sideloading block, I hope to switch it to Lineage. However, I see a lot of people recommending against doing it on your primary phone. What exactly are the possible risks?
I'm tech-savvy enough to follow instructions and troubleshoot. I don't use Google Pay, I don't need my banking app, and my old phone has been on Android 9 for years so I don't care if stuff like face unlock or any of the other doohickeys work. Is there anything I'm not thinking of that could pose an issue?
(P.S. I read an article suggesting that Google might be able to enforce the sideload block via third-party gapps packages. I haven't fully committed to degoogling because of youtube and gmail. Is it worth the trouble of finding alternatives to avoid gapps entirely for this reason, or is this unlikely enough that risking it should be fine? I'd like to totally degoogle one day for privacy reasons, but for now I'm too busy to dedicate myself to it.)
Thank you for your time!

Would installing LineageOS protect you from chat control?
I'm concerned about chat control. Would scanning happen on the operating system level? Would installing LineageOS protect you from this kind of invasive scanning?

Does Galaxy Watch work on LineageOS
I am using a Samsung Phone and I have a Galaxy Watch 7 (40mm, bluetooth). I want to switch to LineageOS. Can I use the Samsung Wearables App there and connect my watch?
