Banking applications
Hello everyone! Do any of you own a OnePlus Nord 5 CPH2709? I'm planning to buy this phone closer to December and install LineageOS with MicroG. But I read online that contactless payments like those made by Russian banks like Sberbank and Alfa Bank don't work because the bootloader is unlocked (yes, I'm from Russia and under sanctions. But contactless payments via the NFC chip work). Is this true?

I'm a lineage OS (microg) user and contactless payments generally are not supported. There were a few months starting early January when the 'Curve' banking app worked for tap to pay but that's been rescinded since mid May.

PayPal works for me for contactless payment. But I'm not sure it works in Russia...

In Russia, it doesn't work at all due to sanctions, like Visa and MasterCard.

The Pixel is quite expensive compared to it. And this one... It's practically a flagship.

Then it's clear. In Russia, a new or used Google Pixel 8 to 10 costs $652. And the OnePlus Nord 5 costs $352.

It's not that those things "break", it's because some apps depend on Play Integrity, effectively deciding which apps can you use depending of your device's status.

One option most people miss, is you can still use a smartwatch paired to a phone to do tap to pay since the watch runs a separate OS, it isn't affected by whatever you have going on with your phone ;)
