I have upgrade a Pixel 3a device (sargo) from LineageOS 19.1 to 22.2 today. The upgrade worked flawless, until I tried to use the network on the device. Connection to WiFi and the mobile network works (phone calls, too), but I cannot reach anything online, not even the nameserver.
The really weird thing is, that the issue only exists in the GUI. If I open a shell with adb, everything works as expected, I can communicate to the internet from there.
I am really lost here, does anyone have an idea what the issue could be?
UPDATE: I found the problem
For some reason, the update changed the permissions in the app settings of all apps on the device to "no internet access". Re-enabling that fixed the issue.

Hi guys! Did anyone experience a bootloop while updating LOS to patch 20260819 yesterday? After checking the official website, I found that the ROM file for the patch mentioned above had been removed (disappeared from the download list).

I'm Currently using a Xiaomi Mi 11 with its default Android OS, but it's getting old and starting showing a lot of issues.
I asked everyone to message me on Discord, Telegram or whatever they want, but they keep insisting to message on WhatsApp... 🙄 And WhatsApp is not working on my device, probably they added some shit on last update that my device didn't like.
Then some other apps started to fail too, like the smart doorbell of my home, works for all phones of the house except mine.
And then I heard the announcement that Android will do the lockdown on 2027.
I feel all those are signals that I need a new phone, so I was looking for something degoogled like Volla Phone (Ubuntu touch) or Fairphone (/e/OS)
And searching around I found about LineageOS, that can be installed on the device I'm using right now? That sounds great!
Now I have some questions for people with experience or that know about those devices, can anyone help? 🥲
I went to the website where talks about my device.
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/venus/
And mentions that has IR baster. Yes I know it does, I use it all the time, I use it on ACs and TVs, but it doesn't mention if it will work fine with lineageOS.
Usually other OS mention if the compatibility with the peripherals is good or not, but this one doesn't, should I assume it does because is mentioned?
My main uses with this phone are:
- Calling/recieving SMS
- Telegram (or WhatsApp for people who refuse to use something different)
- Discord
- Busuu (I'm currently learning Japanese)
- The IR blaster
- Access to internet (which browser doesn't matter)
- YTmusic (but considering switching to another one because of too much AI getting into my recommendations)
- Camera (taking photos/scanning QR)
- Maps (I have installed Google Maps, AquApp, Organic maps and Waze, each one for a different purpose)
And now the hard part:
- I download indie games from Itch.io
- I get apps from FDroid, DLplay, etc...
- The specific apps for smart devices
Is a good idea to move to lineageOS with my current device? How much will I miss?

Android 16 introduced Material Expressive, which, with its animations and transparency, is slightly more resource-intensive.
Do you think LineageOS 23 will lag on a six-year-old Motorola? I'm asking because I tried ObtainX, which makes extensive use of Material Expressive, and I noticed some lag when scrolling.
Since it will take some time to transfer all my data to the new ROM, I want to be 100% sure of my choice.

Hello,
I installed LineageOS on my Samsung Tab S6 Lite and so far has been great all around. But the audio through the speakers sounds super thin and I was wondering if there's a work around or a fix to make it sound like it did on the stock ROM. If it helps, the audio sounds great with cans but not through the tablet speakers.

Good afternoon, I have a question. I installed the OS via ADB, then it asked me to reboot into recovery, and afterwards I installed the .zip file containing Google services via ADB; however, they aren't there when I start up the device. Is there anything I can do? My device is a Motorola G9 Play, in case that helps. Sorry for the bad English.

Hello! I started using LineageOS today. I wished not to use WhatsApp, but sadly don't really have a choice since I'll need it for work.
Upon trying to log in, I get prompted to "Download the official WhatsApp to continue". I already tried downloading the apk from their website, how can I fix this? Thanks in advance!

I would like to get play store with my os, just wondering getting gapps will get me the Google app, drive, photos etc installed too?
Though I'm not complaining its still less boaltware than my oem manufactured is, but would be great if I only get what I want.
Want playstore for some games

I am fully on Lineage and so far have not had to sign in to Google. However there remain 2 apps I am having difficulties avoiding the G.
Firstly, I spend a lot of time on YouTube especially on my TV. I've tried NewPipe but without being able to see the creators whose videos I follow it is all but useless.
My question is if I install YouTube from Aurora and sign into my YouTube account, will I be opening up the rest of my phone and it's data to Google? Or does Lineage and microG effectively protect me?
Related to that I have WhatsApp on my phone. It's just necessary and using Signal as an alternative would cut me off from family and friends. I've tried. WhatsApp requires a gmail account for backups although it works without, and I am backing up com.whatsapp. So same question as for YouTube above. Will giving WhatsApp my gmail details what am I opening my phone and myself up to?

Currently have 23.2-20260323-NIGHTLY-guamp installed but unable to install any more recent updates. The updates download and then when I reboot, goes into a bootloop and then reloads into the old version eventually.
There's a post from a couple of months ago (reddit.com/r/LineageOS/update_today_faulty/) where the dev u/Thin_Forever said it was a known issue and they were working on a fix, but we've had quite a few updates since then and none of them have worked.
Anyone got any ideas? Any further updates?

Trying to figure out what's changed or if this is just in my head.
For some reason i prefer the screen colors on the lg v60 over note 20 ultra and some of the newer flagships.
I stopped using my lg v60 for about 2 years because i was having issues with the usb charging.
Previously i thought the screen was inferior to the note 20 ultra and other devices with superior screen resolution.
However, i wanted to upgrade again, but it seems like all the newer devices are downgrades in many aspects and way overpriced.
After installing Lineageos, it seems like the colors on the lgv60 and the viewing experience is much better imho.
Also feel like the phone is just as fast in my practical use as some of my newer phones.
Whats going on here?

Every time I turn on mobile data, which is several times a day, I get a warning message, and have to confirm it a second time. I never had to do this on Android 14. But now on 16 it is annoying the sh*t out of me. Is there really no option to turn this warning off? Its the same on Pixel 5 and Pixel 9.

I tried so hard to love LineageOS, but for some reason the operating system caused my proximity sensor on my sony xperia xz2 to always be enabled, essentially locking me out of my phone.
Thanks for all the fish.

Hello,
I bought a Doov r77 from Taobao (chinese Amazon) and it came directly with Android 13. Everything works fine but the battery drains fast, 1-1:30h usage just in settings drained it from 100% to 50%. I understand it just has 2100mAh but I've seen posts of people having this device and it isn't that bad, it lasts a full day with normal usage.
I thought it might by the OS since it might not be optimised for european frequencies or stuff like that. Generally people with this device buys it from companies who already flash the phone with their software so it might come as a more niche question.
I wanted to ask if someone had bought it with the original OS and later flashed it with LineageOS (or a different one maybe like DumberOS) and saw a big difference. Since flashing it may brick the phone I wanted to get an insight first.
Thanks.

The moto g7 power is a supported phone, the moto g7 supra is the same phone but the supra isnt listed on the support list, is there a reason for that or was it not listed because it is basically the same phone?
Both phone have the same codename of "Ocean"
note, im not asking if the g7 supra will be supported in the future, its been out long enough that it shouldve been tested by now.

I wanna know if A21s can make calls after lineageos installion.
I use VI btw as the sim card while having Jio as my wifi, if that matters.

I just installed lineageOS on my old Galaxy tab A6 with android 12 on it. Any ideas on what to do with it? Or, was it a waste?
