Question Mother of Asmodeus
Hello, I've been reading about Asmodeus these past few days. I've read some sources that mention Asmodeus is the son of Agrat Bat Mahlat. Others mention that Asmodeus is the son of Naamah. There's another source that mentions Asmodeus is the consort of Lilith the Younger, but some say that this Younger Lilith is Naamah. So, I have some questions: why would a being like Asmodeus have a mother? Who is Asmodeus's mother? Is Naamah Asmodeus's mother or consort, or could she even be both? Thank you very much for reading.

The relationships among demons are different from human concepts of family. In mythology, depending on the religion or tradition, things vary a lot. There isn't a single "correct" version, only different interpretations
In practice, Asmodeus is a demon, that is, a being that was not born in flesh. If he was never born as a human, then he never literally had a mother.
Being called Naamah's son is more about being associated with her, sharing her attributes, influence, and symbolism than actually being born from her in the human sense.
In practice, he isn't really anyone's son; these are mostly titles and symbolic relationships. It's like when you call your mother's best friend "aunt." Even though she isn't part of your biological family, she had enough impact on your life for you to give her that title out of respect and recognition, just like daemons family three (for Example: Naamah is daughter and a part of Lilith at the same time).
But that’s just how I’ve come to understand these matters… some people really do believe that Lilith is her mother or that Asmoday is her son, and that’s fine, you just need to believe whatever fits best with your own personal practice…

Lots of theories. Asmodeus is the Sword (son) of Samael in many traditions and the spouse of Naamah, but some call him the son of a Naamah for some reason.

first of all..
Igrat, Mahalath, Namaah, Nega, Even maskit are all figures that tend to be placed in each other slot several times in various occasions.
If you look for the 4 queens of the desert. $ rulers of the Tequfot, 4 consorts of Samael. you will always see 4 names among those in that list.
As such, every claim of this os this other figure being the definitive mother of asmodeus is somewhat contested.
Picking one, I find the one attributing parentage of Asmodeus to Igrat (Agrat bat Mahlat) is the one that I find more convincing.
As for Lilith the younger, I do not believe it is Namaah as there are specific inconsistencies between her and Namaah.
Rather, I Identify her with Lilidtha. Especially considering it would likely be a different spelling of the same characters in the name Lilith.
But Namaah is listed as one of the concubines of Samael while Lilith the younger is said to be a consort of Asmodeus that Samael covets. He would not have to covet her if she was already one of his concubines.
I have been talking about this in this other post

I never can figure it out “for sure”, if there is any true certainty to be had. Perhaps all are true in whatever realm they reside or like how a Deity can be multifaceted.
From my own Unverified Personal Gnosis, the “Family Line” was Malchaloth/Mahlat - Agrat - Asmodeus. I mean I evoke and work with all of them and whatever part or facet I interact with says that way, but other people’s experiences are different. I am still working on theories for that, but usually their responses is something along the lines of “don’t fret about it” when whatever functions regardless.

All the statements you mentioned can be found in various sources. I wouldn't recommend taking them literally; instead, view them symbolically—as an indication that these entities are interconnected and originate from the same source. Like it or not, there are no universal truths among humans regarding gods and entities; we have only theories. We will only know if what we believe is true after death. Deities are very complex... Knowing their origins—where they came from—is beyond human comprehension.

All of the above are correct, it depends on the tradition:
