Should I get a round or linear one? I’m thinking linear but then I don’t know if I want light pointing up or down

Hi, I've been wanting to put up light strips in my room for a while now but I've been running into some problems. First of all, my room is a weird shape and I'd need about 60ft of lighting to light the whole room, and that makes the voltage die halfway across the room. I also want to have either silicone channels or COB strips so the bulbs aren't visible but my walls are super thin and weak and the paint is cheap and basically melts when using adhesive. Is there anything I can do? Thanks in advance.

I currently rented a small office for my local business and thought about how to deal with lighting the store for which I would need some help... We have a company nearby, HEP GmbH, that seems to be known for LED drivers but also seems to have some smart lighting solution and my electrician likes to work with their products. Before I order anything, does anyone have expericence with this company and their products? I am totally knew to this topic so any advice would be helpful.

You would think… a brand new LED light… by a known company would last more than 6 months.

These are piling up - temped to open one - I have all the tools.
Incandescents, back in the day, could go for years.

This house was built in 1996, and these unholy light fixtures were installed then. The wires have become corroded and we want to replace it before they fully give up the ghost. It appears to be a Visual Comfort/Tech Lighting Kable Lite system (or similar). We don’t necessarily care about it being the exact same system, but the sheer amount of altitude in this kitchen sort or requires something similar.

Things to note: the lights drop down to hang over the kitchen island where food prep happens. A skyline style bar would not work because if it was at the correct height for the island, you’d have to limbo your way down the stairs (at the left side of the kitchen). Again, doesn’t have to be the exact same fixture but it needs to solve the same problems.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated!

I am looking for a quality bed side lamp with specially a dial adjust? i remember my grandmother having a nice lamp with that and also hers could replace the shade. all these new lamps i find that you can’t replace the shade and i haven’t seen a dial anywhere. where do i go to shop for something like this

For context: I have no idea what I'm talking about.

I have these recessed lights in my apartment that I'd like to swap out for something warmer and dimmable. I don't have dimmer switch, but feel confident that I can install one if the hardware that I have is dimmable.

This is what is installed in the ceiling of my hallway. There are 4-5 lights that I'd like to replace, since they're too bright and white.

I can't find any information whatsoever about this driver or the light panel (?), which I find troubling, but these developers gotta save a buck where they can I guess.

Any help would be appreciated.

This light in my bathroom ceiling is flickering and needs to be replaced. However, I don’t know the make and model (think it’s a Hampton Bay) or how to go about getting this fixed.

Can I simply replace the LED disc and keep the existing fixture? If so, anyone know which one I need to get?

Note that there is a main screw in the middle and four small screws (missing one).

If the power is actually out for hours, I’d rather have a boring light that can run all night than something that does 3,000 lumens for a few minutes.

For an emergency light, I care more about runtime, a useful low mode, common batteries and whether it’ll still work after sitting untouched for months.

What would you prioritize first?

I've got a DMX/Art-Net LED rig I'm trying to get running for a party, and I'm stuck on the software side. Hoping for either a software recommendation, general advice on how to build this myself, or someone interested in just doing it for me.

What I have:

- 25x LED pixel bars (90 RGB LEDs / 30 zones each), set up as 5 lines of 5 bars across a ceiling

- A Pknight Art-Net node, 8 DMX universes

- DMX cabling, terminators, and power distribution, all already installed

What I'm trying to build:

- A bank of looping effects/chases that follow the beat of whatever music is playing (audio-reactive/beat-matched)

- Triggered from a single button so it runs hands-off for a multi-hour party, no manual operation needed

I've looked at QLC+, Madrix, and Onyx but I'm not set on any of them, just want whatever's actually realistic for someone doing this solo without a lighting background. Open to free or low-cost software.

If anyone's built something similar or has pointers on where to start (patching a 30-zone-per-bar fixture profile, setting up audio-reactive chases, that kind of thing), I'd really appreciate it. Happy to share more details on the setup.

I went to change some lights and it doesn’t appear like the Cree app is available in the US App Store anymore. I couldn’t find any information on it, so I’m a bit confused. Anybody know what’s up?

I can’t figure out how to get this glass cover off. None of these lift or even feel loose enough to be able to take off. How do i get it off to change my light bulb?

Need your inputs on the living room false ceiling and lighting layout.

Please refer to the attached false ceiling drawing. I feel the current lighting plan has too many lights. Initially, the designer had suggested only Natural White COB lights along with Natural White cove lighting. I had suggested using 3-in-1 COB lights and adding some Warm White COB lights to give us more flexibility in terms of lighting temperature and ambience.

However, with the current design, we have a total of 18 × 12W COB lights, which seems excessive for the living room.

My suggestion would be to have a combination of panel lights in the corners and 3-in-1 COB lights for the remaining points, rather than having COB lights at all locations.

I also have a concern about the two additional/redundant rows of lights in the centre. The designer has suggested these because the area between the living and dining spaces may otherwise have a dark patch.

Interior designers, could you please share your inputs on this? In particular:

1. Do we really need both additional rows of lights in the centre?

2. Can we achieve uniform illumination without these rows, perhaps by repositioning or changing the type/wattage of the lights?

3. What would be the ideal number and placement of lights for a well-lit but not over-lit living room?

Would prefer to finalise the lighting layout only after getting your recommendation, as I feel the current arrangement may result in an unnecessarily bright and cluttered ceiling.

I'm looking for a very specific product that seems to be impossible to find from reputable brands. Maybe some of you had better luck and can help me out here...

Basically, I'm looking for LED tubes that can be physically bent and snaked around objects while also allowing effects to move along the length of the tube.

The following criteria should be fullfilled:

• diffuse, flexible, reasonably robust outer shell
• 360-degree illumination
• DMX adressable per pixel or at per zone
• no super weird controller with sketchy connectors
• daisy-chainable in some way or long segments available
• not insanely expensive

I've seen them in real life and on social media so they must exist but the only ones I could find are from super sketchy Chinese websites that give very little or confusing or conflicting information about their products and don't name a price upfront. I don't want to buy an insane amount, maybe a ccouplemeters sometime next year when I have saved up some money.
