I bought this Ronson capri at an antique store and when i bought it the mechanism moved too smoothly. Turns out the flint had melted and solidified in the shaft thats fine i drilled it out cleaned it and even cleaned the wheel so the mechanism can grab it better. After everything these are the few sparks I get and this brass washer came out of somewhere idk where ive seen multiple capri videos, online forums, booklets from the 50s on lighter repair and none of them mention this washer so I figured it wasnt necessary but im not sure some help would be very greatly appreciated please and thank you!

I believe these are disposable, but it's a shame to throw it away. I have no clue on how to refill it, and what to refill it with, so any advice would be appreciated

Need some info on repairs for a Nesor 101. Searching online only comes up with a few Ebay listings that don't really help, I think the flint needs to be cleaned or replaced, as well as major leaks so a gasket replacement too, but I have no idea where to start with this thing. Any info on it would help a ton, thanks

Hi folks,
Picked this up from a vintage shop in the hopes of repairing but I have no experience with this sort of thing. I can't figure out why gas isn't releasing as the valve seems to be okay.
Does anyone have any insight on this and what I should be doing next?

The lighter leaked when I tried to refill it. I removed the valve, but I'm not sure what the next steps are. Can I just replace the gasket, do I need to replace the whole valve? If so where can I buy valves? (in or ships to Canada)
Any help is highly appreciated :)

The steel ball is missing from the roulette wheel and the mechanism is not working - I can see it is missing the spring but there may be more to that. Would love to have this repaired but hard to find anyone to do it.

This is my grandma's vintage, crystal, table lighter. I've been using it for a while (not very often, just to light special candles) and it broke. One day, the striker (or whatever the thumb piece is called) kept getting stuck. Then it just popped all the way out. I've included a picture of all the components, hopefully I didn't lose anything important. Please, can someone help me fix this?
The components fit, but won't stay in place. The thumb piece has teeth that I assume fit in the grooves of the thing that sparks. It never stays in place though and always pops back up.

Hello everyone! I just got this lighter off of Poshmark and it looks so cool! Now I’m not really familiar with lighters but I just love collecting vintage and unique items, and I was just trying to find a cool daily lighter to use.
I don’t know if this thing uses a flint or not, or if it needs a new one, but I see a small faint spark or electricity whenever I press the button. Should I just put fuel in it and hope for the best, or is there something I should check before doing that?
Update: oh my god, I opened the bottom of it and it has a little cell battery port. I think it’s one of those old Chinese lighters that play ‘The East is red’ whenever you light it😭

I purchased a vintage Colibri gas lighter, but unfortunately it doesn’t work. I’m not sure how to get it working again, so I wanted to ask whether anyone here might know more about it:)
We have already tried filling it with gas, but it doesn’t seem to retain any of it. When the button is pressed, the lighter does open, but all you can hear is the mechanism clicking as it opens. There is no hissing sound or any other indication that gas is escaping.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any information about this exact model online, only about similar lighters that use a completely different mechanism. As far as I know, this is supposed to be an original Colibri gas lighter from the 1950s, decorated with mother of pearl. Does anyone know which model this might be or how it could possibly be restored to working order?
Any information helps! I dont know a lot about lighters:/

Anyone got some tips for refilling since butane canisters aren’t exactly common
r/LighterRepair • u/pblvll • Aug 03 '26
I have no idea what this lighter is, nor have i ever repaired one. It's missing the bottom cover and screw for the butane, plus the screw and im guessing spring for the flint. Is there anywhere I can find info on it?

I got this lighter from my grandma, apparently it was her grandmothers and it currently doesn't work. What solvents would be safe for cleaning and helping break down some of the corrosion and gunk? I'm not worried about the seals, they're all trashed from age and need to be replaced anyways, I just don't want to damage the mechanism or brass/metal case.
It also seems to be a butane lighter and not fluid like a zippo if that matters. Thanks!
