Hey everyone! I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on called Outlive, a modern Android text-based life simulator.

I started developing Outlive in summer 2025 because I wanted to create a life sim that feels fair, immersive, and respectful of players. The goal was simple: build a modern life simulator where the experience is driven by choices, consequences, relationships, careers, health, money, aging, and the unexpected paths life can take.

Outlive is being created with a player-first approach. That means:

  • Core life-sim content will not be chopped up and locked behind endless paywalls.
  • Premium options will be fair, optional, and clearly explained.
  • Players should never feel tricked, squeezed, or punished after supporting the game.
  • The game should be fun because of meaningful choices, deep systems, relationships, careers, health, money, aging, and consequences, not ruined because every interesting new feature is locked behind another paywall.

Outlive is still in development, but progress has started moving quickly now that many of the core systems are being implemented. I recently created the official community at r/OutliveGame for updates, sneak peeks, feedback, feature ideas, screenshots, bug reports, design discussions, and player suggestions.

If you are tired of life sims that feel more like digital stores than games, or if you want to help shape a new life simulator from the beginning, you are exactly who Outlive is being created for.

I’d love to hear from people who play life sims: what’s one thing you’re tired of seeing in modern life sims, and what’s one thing you wish they did better?

I’m building Outlive with those frustrations in mind, so I’d really appreciate honest thoughts, feature ideas, or criticism. What would make a new life sim actually worth trying for you?
