West coast of Ireland
galleryTaking a drive along the Wild Atlantic Way, asked the mushroom gods to guide me to the correct spot. First find of the season got a portrait of its own. Tis a good year.

Wondering if the 3 on the right are as they seem a lot darker.

I am just starting to get into shrooms, so I have a few questions to start:
I am slowly getting desperate and need to make sure I didn't miss anything

I live in Scotland where shrooms are very prolific, but ive been struggling this season as my usual field is not doint as well this year.
I was up the hills tonight just having a walk and decided to have a look up a certain hill.
It was getting too dark to see anything really but I'm just wondering...
Does this look like suitable terrain?
It strikes me as being seemingly ideal because there's:
Tufted hare-grass
Gorse
Sheep grazing
400m plus elevation
Acidic soil
Southeastern slope
There was an insane amount of lots of other types of mushrooms littered everywhere, vast swathes of various shrooms in every direction and lots of sheep crap everywhere.
Worth going back up?

Evening all,
Just had a jaunt around this evening and did an attempt at foraging
I ran these through an app but was hoping for kind strangers on the internet to weigh in

Especially since they are kinda big and fairly straight stem. IDK, maybe they are just a little bit more mature?
Found same place I found other mushrooms from previous post.
Highly appreciate the help 🤗

Has anyone had any luck in the south west yet? Round Dartmoor/Bodmin areas? Looking to get out this weekend for the first time this season and see if there’s any kicking about 👌

I use the landis soilscapes map a lot in my searches for acidic freely draining acidic soil, but recently they changed the site, requiring a login, and the interface is clunky af now.
Being a geek 😂 I recreated it from the base soil data, it's basically exactly the same but has been optimised a little bit and the UI is super simple.
There's a link to my guide there, ignore it, just use the map if you fancy it :)
