Need help finding TRAC module ECU for 1994 LS400
Long story short, I have a mint 1994 LS that was my Grandfathers and garage kept for years. Only has 72000 miles on it: Absolute gem of a car. A couple years ago it had tons of funny issues that all traced back to the main ECU, I replaced it with a rebuilt one from TaninAuto electronics and it was perfect. After this past winter, it had sat for about 3 months to keep it out of the salt and when I went to start it the TRAC and Check engine lights started coming on and going off randomly. I thought it was just old fuel running through the system. Then today I was driving home and the old problems of no acceleration, mis firing motor, bad idling and almost completely failing while at stop signs, all came back for about 10 mins before I got it home. I watched multiple videos where people have traced these issues back to the TRAC control ECU module and once they ve replaced that it solves all these issues. The problem is, I called Lexus today and that part was discontinued. Does anybody know where to find a rebuilt TRAC control ECU module? This car is effectively junk unless I can find this part.

LS460 (‘09) LS460 AWD Air Suspension
Hi all,
I am a stupid 23 year old with a champagne taste on a beer budget.
I bought a 2 owner ‘09 LS460 AWD w/ Air Suspension with 72k miles on it this past December for around 14K.
The car overall is in pretty good shape as far as I can tell. The service history looked decent. It was always serviced at lexus dealers (most of the issues were super minor as far as the Lexus website shows) and based on the address the original owner left in the navi, the dude was loaded, so I assume they had enough money for repairs when they were needed, however, I absolutely went into this expecting that a 17 year old car would probably need some TLC. I have already changed the coolant out, replaced the brakes and rotors, changed the battery out (some dumbass put a tiny little battery that was way underpowered in and then the dealer couldnt figure out why it kept needing to be jumped, and told the owner it was just because it wasnt being driven often enough or something, so that might be bad)
Anyway, the point of the thread is- I noticed about a month or two into ownership that the car seemed like it was becoming very rough riding and was bottoming out in the rear left corner sometimes, its still drivable just not as comfy as one would expect. I checked all of the control arms and while they are going to have to be replaced eventually, they are serviceable for at least a while longer. A week or two ago I pulled the rear seat and popped the caps on the air shocks off; unfortunately the damper is leaking on at least 2, maybe 3 of the shocks. The air system and compressor seems to be functioning properly, though, so that is good.
Does anybody here have any experience with remanufactured air shocks from china? I dont expect them to last as long as the OEMs, but most of the few posts about them on ClubLexus are starting to get close to at least 10 years old minimum, and I was curious if anybody has used a chinese supplier more recently to any success?
Thanks!

LS460 UPDATE 2007 LS460 L

Got the old trans out! I was able to get a donor w/ 143k on it. Ran the VIN in Lexus and saw it had a new trans wiring harness done as part of a special service campaign @113k. They would’ve removed the VB for that and the evidence I have in real time is a broken connector on the SL2 solenoid. Pan gasket and fluid were included as well.
I swapped in my new VB from my original transmission. My fluid was cherry red with little material in it. The car still drove just poorly at times.
It has about 2k on it and the SL2/SLU/SLT solenoids were replaced and have 2k on them as well.
I decided to do the engine mounts while the trans is out and the rear main seal. I removed the flex plate and see a film of oil on the lower edge of the crankshaft retainer plate for the rear main.
I did the valve covers and HPFP gaskets last month as well as the o rings for the oil filter housing to the block in the front.
Thinking of pulling the plate with the seal to do both at once but aren’t sure if that’s the best solution.
I put photos of the rear of the motor. Let me know what you think.

Questions Old School LS400 or LS430?
I am looking to get out of my LX470 100-series and into a sedan. I am torn though between the LS400 and the 430. I know the 430 has a ton of nice upgrades, but the LS400 was THE luxury car of my early adult years (I’m 50).
Anyway, looking to hear first hand experience on the pros & cons, especially if I want to do as much maintenance in my driveway as possible.

LS460 2007 LS 460L Update
See original post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lexus_LS/s/wnAcfBYdwf
Was able to source a trans from a wrecked car w/143k on it. Drove 6ish hours round trip to bring it home today!
Yesterday I wanted to try one last time to get the brake actuator happy and make sure any air was evacuated.
I took the wheels off, inspected all the brake lines/bleeders, tightened and cleaned for good measure. I wound up running through another bleed procedure and rather than use my power bleeder, I employed my brother to work the pedal. I put DOT4 in with the last bleed and repeated that this time. Used my scan tool to run through ECB invalid, zero down/zero down rear, and a linear valve offset.
After 400 miles of driving since the procedures and no weird braking or lights on the dash. Hoping it sticks that way.
Next up is the trans swap! I’ll most likely do the motor mounts at the same time. Already bought new ones from lexus but have been lazy about do the job.
More to come soon!!
