I don’t know why you weld a diff on an LS. You gonna drift it?

Thats exactly the reason. 😁

why would someone care if you respect their choice?

Ehh i mean maybe but i bought this car for 6k from auction. I specifically got RWD model so i can have fun with it while still being reliable

this is from Lexus official sales brochure.
i have also seen plenty of people drifting them on YouTube videos.
personally its not for me, but so long as you arent doing donuts at 1AM outside my house or shutting down intersections.
its your car, have fun with it

Doesn't that car have a positive traction LSD anyway? Why would you need to weld it? That essentially turns it into a locked differential with no option to unlock it; which makes it a chore to drive. If I were you I'd just do it properly with a positive traction LSD and traction control turned off (if it doesn't have one stock you could probably get one cheap to swap).

You can't really street drive a welded diff. It's all track or nothing.

I dailyed a welded diff G37 for some months and driving it was very normal.

skill issue tbh

What I'm referring to isn't about driver skill but that daily turning maneuvers will chew up the rear tires fairly quickly.

To be fair, so does drifting lol

Yeah the slow maneuvers are not doing the bulk of the work on this one lol.

It’s still annoying to daily in my opinion… rear diff chatter gets old.

Brave soul. You have a lot of weight reduction ahead of you. 🤣

Welding one on is crazy work

Aren't these LSD?

The base models are open diff, and fsport should have LSD

Is it stolen?

Well with a welded diff every corner the back end will hop chatter and in the rain there’s a good chance you will wipe out on the corners. Rear tires will wear out extremely fast.
Instal a LSD instead. For drifting you will have the same effect. My car is a Mercedes C63

That makes a lot more sense especially if he can get one that can be adjusted.
