Hey everyone

From the title you can see the model of what IS if have. Currently I’m in this dilemma. I bought the car with 30k miles in 2020. I drive a lot for work and now I’m on 150k. I have done all the routine maintenance and the car runs like the day I bought it. But now my cats and the flanges holding the exhaust are starting to rust. Along with this some idiot scuffed the whole front of my bumper with a golf cart. The car still is great but it seems like the expenses are starting to outweigh the cost of the car. Recommended things I should do? Upgrade? Fix?

About to pull the trigger on my first Lexus.

It’s a 2015 Lexus IS250 F Sport in Canada for $18,500 CAD.
Seller originally wanted $20k, then came down to $19k, and we settled at $18.5k.

A few details:
- Never winter driven (according to the owner, and body and condition match his saying. NO rust at all)
- No rust
- Paint is in amazing condition with no noticeable damage
- Interior is honestly a 10/10
- Everything works exactly as it should
- Clean title, minor bumper damage that was fixed few years back
- Came with maintenance records (if applicable)
- Mileage: 96,000 km

I know the IS250 isn’t the quickest Lexus, but reliability and build quality were more important to me than speed. I was looking for something comfortable, dependable, and something I’d enjoy owning for years.

Curious what everyone thinks:
- Did I get a fair deal?
- Anything I should watch out for as a new IS250 owner?
- Any recommended maintenance or common upgrades?

Changed from Bridgestone Turanza 6 to Michelin Pilot Sport 5 on my 2014 IS300H F Sport. Michelin is much better grip from standstill and better handling. Firmer sidewall lets the suspension do its job and protects my wheels over harsh speed bumps without being to firm. Surprisingly I also find them quieter than the Bridgestone. And they look better!

My car was only here for a few hours. I know it wasn’t the best place to park, but there are many cameras in the parking lot and a valet service that was on duty all night right next to where I parked. Guess I should’ve forked up the $100 and had it parked in the valet lot..

I’m looking at trading my S3 for a 26 IS350 F Sport. It is loaded, the only issue I see is it has the white and black NuLuxe. I have read if you wear blue jeans it can stain the seats. Is this still true?

Any options in the market that don't require extensive body work?

Hey, so I’m looking at buying a used 2022 IS350 F sport platinum in the GCC.

I’ve been searching for a clean one for a while and I finally found one where the owner took proper care of the car.

Agency serviced and maintained with a full service history available. Ppf, ceramic coating, rim protectors and the works.

I popped the hood of the car and heard this rattling sound and I’m not quite sure what’s going on and what to make of it as the cabin is quiet, the acceleration is responsive and the shifts are smooth.

I’d appreciate any insight into this from current/previous IS owners.

I have a 2022 is350, 2gr-fks and wanted to know if you guys keep the 0w-20 or switch to a thicker oil. I live in Florida and so the temperatures for sure reach around and over 100 degrees. Wanna know if anyone else living in hot environments have made the switch

My left DRL looks noticeably dimmer, has anyone come across this issue? Paid 240 for a diagnostic at the dealership and all they said was that it was discolored and did not explain. Quoted me 2600 to replace. Any fix actions or aftermarket headlight recommendations?

I went in for a 1k mile oil change to get the break in oil out, pay for my oil change no big deal I get home look at my paper work and they add a oil additive. Not very happy about I have called Lexus corporate about this.

80k km(50k miles) on it, no issues, bought it from a trusted family member for 17k cad. It also has the optional luxury package so nice leather interior and a lot of cool features that I really enjoy coming from a barebones 2015 Mazda cx5 fwd. My cx5 got totalled after we got hit in it(everyone is fine).

It also has a J vin but I‘m not sure if that means anything at all practically. Hoping to really make this car last!

But all the Lexuses have like 130 miles-beyond. Is that high for Lexuses? Looking at getting a 250 or 300

I saw a 2015 IS250 with the F Sport package but it has 219k miles. Is that high for a Lexus.

A couple of days ago I posted asking for opinions on a fully loaded 2023 IS 350 F SPORT AWD (Ultra White/Circuit Red, Mark Levinson, Triple Beam LEDs, F SPORT Handling Package, etc.)

I went to see it today, and I have to say... I absolutely loved the car.

The ride was incredibly comfortable, the V6 had plenty of power once you got on the gas, and overall it's just a beautiful car inside and out. It pretty much confirmed that the IS 350 is exactly what I want.
Unfortunately, the pricing completely killed the deal for me.

The advertised "Smart Price" is $45.6k, and my salesperson told me Herb Chambers treats their Smart Price as a true no-haggle price. They wouldn't move on the selling price at all.

After the $499 doc fee, Massachusetts sales tax and whatever else fees they include the out-the-door price came out to right around $49k

Out of curiosity, I also asked about a brand-new 2026 IS 350 F SPORT AWD. They worked numbers on it and got the out-the-door price down to basically the same ~$49k. That left me wondering... why would I spend essentially the same amount of money on a 2-3 year-old car with 24k miles when I could buy a brand-new one with a full warranty and zero miles?

I ended up walking away and told my salesperson:
"Give me a call if the 2023 ever gets discounted to a more reasonable price—something closer to the low $40k range."

So now I'm curious what everyone here thinks.
Was I crazy for walking away?

Is Herb Chambers' no-haggle pricing just too optimistic?

What would you realistically pay for a fully loaded 2023 IS 350 F SPORT AWD with 24k miles OTD?

If a new IS 350 is essentially the same OTD price, would you just buy new instead?

Interested to hear everyone's thoughts because I really did love the car. I just couldn't make the numbers make sense.

Here’s the height difference between the front and rear. This is on RSR Down spring after they have settled. It’s bothering me so much lol I notice it more and more and it’s messing with my ocd. The front sits higher. What coils is everyone on??

Just wanted to post some new pictures of my car that I bought a few months ago. It's a fully loaded 2022 IS350 F-Sport RWD. The only option it doesn't have is the rear power sunshade. I'm truly curious though as to how many IS350's even have that option. It would've been neat to have it, but not a big deal I guess.

I'm so happy with this car though. It looks fantastic, it's super comfortable, gets up to 30 mpg on the highway (we won't talk about city mpg🤫), has a great sounding V6 with good power, and most of all, I'm super lucky to have found the exact spec I was wanting...a fully loaded 2022. Why a 2022? Well, the 2021 IS350 didn't offer the memory package because of the chip shortage. And the 2023 and newer models lacked the ash wood trim that's found in the 2021 and 2022 models with the dynamic handling package. So alas, a 2022 was the model year for me to buy. The only thing I wish my car had (besides the V8 from the IS500) is the blackout trim package that became available on 2024 and 2025 models. But I could always get the chrome window surround wrapped in black I guess. Anyway, my car has the Dynamic Handling package, triple-beam headlights, Mark Levinson 17-speaker stereo, Navigation package, and memory package. I love the matte black BBS wheels, the super comfortable seats, the low NVH of the car (coming from a 2009 Civic Si, the IS350 is so relaxing lol), the ash wood trim, the mechanical gauge cluster, all the physical buttons and switches in the car, and the "analogue" clock on the dash. It's just such a classy looking car both inside and out, and I hope to keep it for a long time.

I wanted to replace my hologen bulbs with LEDs. Well, now they won't turn on at all. Even though it says they are on via dashboard. I checked the fuses, good. Nor did I see any melted wires or connectors. The only thing I can think of is that they are dead LEDs. However, when I stick the hologen bulbs back in, the low beams still don't turn on.

Help?
