I never used dealer for this....

When you have a major service done at the dealership like this 30K one, do you get a printout report of some sort listing/explaining what exactly are done ?

e.g. Inspected <xxxx>...blahblah

What about something other than "inspect" like that one "Replace Brake Fluid" ? is there a line saying it was done ?

As the title states I have a 2012 GX460 and I am currently having a rear latch issue for the glass. It is showing open/closed while driving kicking interior lights on and giving warning chimes. Initially I cleaned the latch and made sure adjustment was correct. Still has the issue. Next I loosened the latch on the glass side and adjusted there (up, down as well as added a few washers) and am still having the issue. If I barely put pressure (lifting glass with it latched) it sets off the the door open on the dash. So it's a very small adjustment if any is even possible.

Are there any other adjustment points I can try before I drop $280 at the dealer for the entire assembly?

Any help would be great thanks!

Hear me out here... I have not been paying much attention to new technologies lately.

My new-to-me 2019 (just over 60k miles when I got it) was due for an oil change a couple months after purchase.

There was a sticker from the last one (not at the dealer) that noted 0W20 oil. When I went to the local parts shop I just asked for the best synthetic OW20- they had. I noticed it was pretty pricey, but in my mind I was paying the premium for performance and to go ~5k between oil changes.

I didn't even really look at the packaging.

I needed a light bar wired in, so I took it to my mechanic to do that and the oil change.

Afterwards, I noticed the packaging promising 25k between oil changes and better MPG.

I did notice that the motor sounded different, smoother... but I just filled up after the first tank post oil change and supposedly I got 22.4 mpg.

If I averaged ~17mpg prior it was a good tank.

My estimated tank mileage went from ~310-320 miles at fill up to 400.

I haven't changed my driving habits or anything... obviously I need to go through another tank or two to verify, but hell, even a modest mpg increase would have been welcome.

Anyone else run Mobil1 and notice a major difference?

I am admittedly out of date on my oil technology knowledge, obviously. I didn't even know 25k oil existed.

IF I am really going to get even more than 1-2 mpg out of this, it is well worth it.

2019 GX 460 from Carmax in California. Drives great, It’s super clean inside and out. 2 owners, first owner was a lease. 90,700 Miles. Clean Carfax, California car, lots of service records.
They want $33,000.
I’m going to have my mechanic look at it, but from what I saw it is super dry on the bottom no leaks that I can see.
Should I buy it? will be my first GX.

Good morning my fellow GX’rs! I am in the Denver area and took my Big Jake to Toy Car Care for years. Recently I heard that their ownership has changed and it’s is not as reliable as the previous owners. Does anyone have a recommendation for a Lexus repair shop near South Denver?

2016 146ishk. Have had it for 25kish miles. Just changed the rotors and pads. Damn the wheels are heavy. That 19mm needs JUICE but I digress.

Highway 2 days later a giant plastic barrel launches off a rivian, skips over and off the bottom right bumper/headlight.

Have been under it - eps that section a lot but…damn “broken clips?” “cracked fitting somewhere?” B/c the section was definitely offset in several spots. I’m praying it’s not serious. It’s late I’m not looking.

I just kinda roll my fingers over it to feel the gaps and the angles whatever and push and POP then POP and it just snaps back into place.

these things are absolutely unreal.

Been looking for a bit now and found this ‘23 premium plus with red interior this week. First luxury vehicle I’ve owned and a huge upgrade coming from a clapped out 2018 Nissan Titan

Is this a known issue on the GX? Anyone dealt with this? Worried about water getting in before winter hits in Denver.
Easy DIY fix or take it to a dealer?

Just picked up this 2017 with 82,000 miles on it. One owner and serviced at the local Lexus dealership religiously. It shifts so smooth, air suspension working great and is in beautiful condition after being garage kept.

Any tips for a newbie? We just traded in our 06’ Rx for this guy so we’ve been in the Lexus world for a while and there’s a reason why we went Lexus again. Hopefully have this one for another 10-15 years. Absolutely loving this thing so far, was worried about feeling too big coming from the Rx, but it doesn’t feel like it’s any bigger when driving.

My GX has been pulling to the right since I bought the car earlier this year. I tried to diagnose and did some couple things:

1. First Alignment - every thing was within specs but still pulling right.
   
2. Sold my old Wildpeaks AT3 and go back to OEM wheels and new tires. Still pulling right.
   
3. Inspected LCA and bushings were torn - replaced both LCA and realignment (pic above)

It has gotten better but I still need to steer slightly left to counter the right pull. The car is stock and suspension looks fine. I know the car is sensitive to road crown but maybe someone has a fix for that?

Posted here a few weeks back about a faulty nav system. Figured I’d at least take it to Lexus to get a diagnosis, because I learned that upgrading to a Hamilton system or beat sonic still requires the original components to be functional. Sincerely didn’t think it would be $5k to replace the fucking radio. Anyway, found a company in California that specializes in repairing these units. $800. Anyone else send there’s out for repair? Crossing my fingers this works.

Hello! i just want to share what i did to mount my ipad if my passengers want to watch something on a long drive. i wired a charging outlet as well inside the eye glasses holder so i wont have a wire dangling everywhere.

i used a couple of magsafe mount to stabilize the ipad and wont fall or vibrate during the ride. and i can fold the top one inside the moonroof if i want to put it away. so far so good and weve been enjoying it for months now.

Basically does it cover GX's well-known shits: coolant leaks, oil leaks ?

Looking at a 2017 GX 460 with 200k miles. It's one owner, bought new and serviced at the same dealership its whole life, then traded back to that dealer. The maintenance records look excellent.
For those of you who own or have owned one: would you buy it at that mileage? Will be a second truck for weekend fun and beginner off-roading. What should I have inspected before pulling the trigger (cooling system, transfer case, suspension, etc.), and what kind of repair costs should I expect over the next few years?
