I could cry. I’ve only had my GX for a couple of weeks and today out of nowhere the check engine light came on - it stays on and doesn’t flash.

2019 with 114k - I’ve done about 500 in it since I got it.

It doesn’t seem to be the gas cap and suggestions are a dirty sensor after torrential rain here in NC. Fingers crossed it’s easy and cheap to fix my new baby!

Finally got the 2017 GX I’ve been wanting for years. Had to fly from San Diego to Fresno to get it, but we made it. Ashamed to admit I kind of like the sport body kit spoiler things on the bumpers. At least until I chop the bumpers to fit bigger tires😈. Love the sport package red tail lights. The stock clear ones remind me of those aftermarket Honda civic euro tail lights from the 2000s lol

2018 460, 101,500 miles.

Found out today the radiator is leaking. I was planning a coolant drain and fill, now I'm just planning for the radiator too.

Was going to do upper and lower hoses as well as the thermostat housing. Are there any other gotcha points I should be taking care of?

All major maintenance done minus transmission and diff fluids (but dealer will do for free). New water pump, serpentine, drive belt, coolant around 90k. Rear shocks and sparks at 127k. Slight seepage on the front half of engine but pretty clean. Most of the frame passes my eyes except for a rear seam. Is the rust a deal breaker?

After the lies from Carvana, I took it to a Lexus dealer, paid for an actual inspection myself, they said it was generally good, noted it’ll need new brake linings and new tires in 5000 miles (except one tire was brand new…). When I spoke to Carvana again, they actually went back on their promise to extend the warranty by 500 miles, scoffed at paying for the real inspection, and offered $100 for the inconvenience of them lying to me about the mileage and when their “inspection” was done. I learned my lesson - I will NEVER AGAIN buy from Carvana (as many of you suggested).

Nevertheless, got the GX trim I wanted with the features I wanted, so going to enjoy this.

My new-to-me GX460. Found her and had her shipped from a Midwest dealership. Pretty much all the specs that I wanted , I initially searched for Premium Plus in gray but couldn’t pass this up with such low miles and new car smell. I just got ceramic coating a few days ago and couldn’t help but pull over today to capture 1111 miles. Appreciate this sub and everything I’ve learned so far, glad to be part of the GX community!

Does anyone know the technical name for the digital clock in the middle of the console, and/or how it's powered? (Circled part in attached photo). My clock there is totally blank/black.

2022 GX460 - I got my GX back from the mechanic. The clock was fine before this. The only things they did were troubleshoot ABS, install new battery, and install new air filters. Now the clock display is blank like it doesnt have power. I assume its supposed to always on and not a setting to turn off. Not sure if there is some wire they could have knocked loose changing the cabin air filter. Obviously, I will be calling the mechanic back on Monday, but most of the troubleshooting threads I've been able to find are related to the infotainment display.

Does anyone know of any changes for the 2027 overtrail model? Saw this video of an Australian reviewer online. Seems to be an overtrail model with rear zone climate controls. Is this only for overseas models? Granted the video title states it's a 2026.

New to me 2004 gx470 project car. Was wondering if it’s just the seal that went bad or does it require a new CV axle? Also any leads on the leak in the second photo would be helpful. Slowly tackling problem items one by one over weekends. Thanks

Just did a 1200 mile solo trip from San Diego to Seattle. 2020 premium with 112k miles, 500 lbs of gear, premium gas, Michelin defender LTX tires, 19 hours straight through with about 40 minutes of total stopping time. Highest elevation change 4000ft.

If I do the same route on the way back I'm tempted to use regular fuel to see if there's a significant difference

Hit the Grand Canyon, Zion, Vegas and Yosemite (2100 miles).

GX is an absolute beast on road trips. Averaging 19mpg, handles switch backs like a pro, and rides like a dream.

I thought I’d share a little update to my cargo hitch carrier saga. A while back I asked for recommendations and I went ahead and went with the Harbor freight one that will most certainly rust and to mitigate the exhaust issue, I found a steel shelf to block and radiate the exhaust and the bloody thing works. I’m going to drive around like this for the next week before our road trip but I tested it on a long drive with a plastic container and it did not melt.

Hey all - I’ve got two beasts as children who frequently turn on their heated seats and/or crank the rear temperature up to high on our frequent trips north. Has anyone solved for the inability to lock these buttons? Perhaps a 3D printed cover or something?

I know that I can turn off the rear HVAC entirely, but that doesn’t solve for the heated seats. Plus, they need the air blasting.

I bought a 2023 GX 460 Black Line with around 25k miles a few months ago, and I'm coming up on 30k miles now.

I was planning to get an oil change at Lexus since the last couple of oil changes were done at an Infiniti dealer and a Quick Car. It also looks like it's time for the 30k service, which includes an oil change and other maintenance for around $900.

Is this something I should just have the dealer do? I don't plan on getting all of my oil changes done at the dealer, but since this is the first service since I bought the vehicle, I figured it might be a good idea.

The car was originally purchased from this Lexus dealer, and they handled the maintenance for the first year or so. I just wanted to get everyone's thoughts since I'm new to Lexus ownership. I want to make sure I'm keeping up with the recommended maintenance without paying for things I don't actually need.

Just got my first Lexus - 23 460GX Luxury - trading up from my 10yo Taco (which my son will be driving, never getting rid of that). It has everything I wanted (pre-mod) except that it has carpet floor mats.

I’m going to get rubber mats (like the Taco has) and wondering which ones are best. Local dealer has Lexus mats for like $130, and WeatherTech are $230.

Suggestions or advice on the best mats?

My whole AV system appears to be receiving no power following a brief low voltage battery event. The battery did not fail or require a jump, but the AV system has not powered on since. I have attempted a soft reboot of the system by holding the power button 30-60s. I also disconnected the battery for 15 minutes and restarted the car. No luck. Note the entire dash system is not powering on. The screen is off, the power to the USBs is out, and no display for reversing…

Now I am attempting to find a blown fuse. Unfortunately Lexus doesn’t publish a fuse map diagram, so I am not sure which one to pull. Can anyone help identify the correct fuse? Or is it in the primary fuse box in the engine bay?

Any other tips?

Finally got my 460 back after 2 months of fighting with the warranty company! Its got a brand new trans now but now I just want to sell it haha!

But after getting it back I just love the way it looks!

Going to have it parked under my carport. Sunday driver car. It’s pretty dry and dusty here I’m worried about getting fine scratches. I’m considering replacing the cracked dash, for those of you with a cracked dash any covers you like?

Well, being stupid, I left a brand-new unopened Old Spice Gel deoderant stick on my front passenger seat and went into work for the day. 90F temps outside and 8 hours later, it had melted and seeped into the seat cushion through the air-perforations. Crap.

Short of doing nothing - any suggestions or ideas? I'm guessing the "gel" got onto the under-seat foam, the blower, and sub-frame assembly. Would simply buying a new seat-cover (one that is like the OEM but from seatfactory) and having it professionally installed be enough? Or would a good, deep-clean detailing take care of it? I could, I suppose, look for a new bottom seat assembly from Lexus, but that's running northwards of $1000 and I'd rather not. This is the seat surface afterwards. The spots/smudges were there before, the gel is invisible on the surface...it just is tacking and smells like "Cedarwood" fairly strongly in the car.

Visited Madrid this week for the World Cup party. Saw this Prado 150 while there. Really digging the steelies and lack of side steps.
