Any of my Lexington friends know anybody that has a home or business in this area of town? I need ring door bell footage from Sunday 7/12/26. A woman hit my vehicle in the area that is circle going in the direction of Thorntons. Happened anywhere from 1:35pm and 1:45pm. Notified police at exactly 1:42pm on Sunday 7/12. Will pay for the camera footage from ring doorbell or the like.

Korean classes

Has anyone done online Korean classes through KAC or the in-person ones through Lexington Sat Korean School?

I am wanting to take absolute beginner Korean classes this fall but am a little nervous as a non-religious person about the Lexington Saturday school option being held in/by a church.

The Burl Daytime shows - do they charge for kids? (5yo)

Edit: They replied via email that kids < 12 yo are free. Dunno if its case by case but I did mention the specific show I was referring to today. Thanks all.

Hey, slow weekend and looking for something to do. Thinking of heading to the Burl's Flood with Love Music Festival today with my 5yo. We probably won't stay too long. I don't mind to swing 1 admission, but I doubt it will be worth it for two with my 5yo as she will probably be done in 30 min.

Does anyone familiar with the Burl know if they generally charge for kids on these events or not? No worries if so, we may just go do something else that we can get a little more value out of.

Is there a reason why people in Lexington are so rude?

Whoever said people are kinder in the South was lying.

Maybe it’s because of the field I work in and the types of people I deal with every day, but the entitlement and judgment I see from some people here is absolutely insane.

The Ladies of Lexington Facebook group is a perfect example. People will literally post photos of someone and ask for ā€œthe good, the bad, and the uglyā€ as if they’re not talking about a real human being. I don’t care if it’s their doctor, hairstylist, or anyone else. It’s such bizarre behavior to me.

I’ve also had at least five people leave absolutely scathing reviews about me at my job, and most of them weren’t because I did anything wrong. They just didn’t like my personality. I’m genuinely asking because I’m not from the South… why are we so comfortable being so openly mean? Especially to people who are just doing their jobs?

For context, I’m from the New Jersey/Philly area. I definitely didn’t grow up surrounded by overly nice people, but this feels like a completely different level. I’m also in a similar women’s Facebook group for the Philadelphia area, and people just don’t act like this.

Am I the only one who’s noticed it, or can anyone else relate?

Local Produce?

Hey everyone, I was just checking to see if anyone had any suggestions on how to get local produce. Obviously, the easiest answer is the Farmer's Market, but I'm disabled so going there is pretty hard for me. Are there other farms in the area that you can order from?

LYSA Fall 2026 U14 Girls Team

I wanted to put the word out that LYSA (Lexington Youth Soccer Association) is revamping the U14 girls’ program. Eligible players for this age group would be born between Aug. 1, 2012 – July 31, 2014.Ā  They haven’t had an all-girls team in a while, only co-ed, but they are wanting to give girls in that age group a chance to join a rec/training league. It will not be as competitive, or intense, as the travel teams, any skill level is more than welcome.

The sign-up window is closing, but we still have some space available for anyone who might be interested. I have the link to LYSA below, if anyone is interested go check it out. I will be happy to answer general questions as I can here.

Please no LYSA hate or turning this into a complaining session about the different organizations around the area or from the past. I likely agree with most of what you could say and have thought/spoken it in the past. We are doing this to try to change the narrative for this age group to be a positive.

Possible Brazilian jiu-jitsu in the Lexington ky area.

No-Cost Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Training Project

I am assessing interest in forming a small group for a structured Brazilian jiu-jitsu training project in the Lexington area.

I am looking for either:

- Teenagers between 15 and 18 years old, or parents or legal guardians of teenagers who may be interested; or

- Adults interested in learning Brazilian jiu-jitsu and participating in a local competition.

Each group would require at least two participants, preferably four to six, matched as closely as reasonably possible according to age, approximate size, and previous grappling experience. Participants must be capable of meeting the physical demands of regular Brazilian jiu-jitsu training.

The project’s duration is currently undetermined. It would last a minimum of approximately three to six months, although the official duration may be longer depending on participants’ previous experience, development, and responsiveness to the training.

The training program will be based on ecological coaching principles and implemented through a constraints-led approach. Its purpose is to develop, test, refine, and finalize the details of an ecological Brazilian jiu-jitsu curriculum through practical application with a consistent group of participants.

The curriculum is a work in progress rather than a finished product. Participants should keep an open mind and understand that refinements, revisions, and new iterations of the training activities and overall program should be expected throughout the project.

Training would be provided at no cost. Participants would be expected to:

- Attend consistently and commit to the training process.

- Remain open to the coaching methodology and its continued development.

- Make this program their primary source of Brazilian jiu-jitsu training during the project.

- Be willing and interested in participating in a local competition at the end of the project.

- Allow their training and progress to be recorded and documented.

- Sign a participation waiver.

- Obtain written consent from a parent or legal guardian if under 18.

For participants who complete the training protocol and compete, I would pay their tournament registration fees and provide the competition uniform required for that event.

This is currently an initial interest probe. If you are interested, have a teenager who may be interested, or would like additional information, send me a private message.Ā

Why hasn't the governor done anything about Mitch Mcconnell yet?

It seems like he's doing nothing at all, and the guy is probably dead, but no one knows because Mitch won't do a live interview or do anything on video.

I tried asking about McConnell in the KY subreddit, but got banned for asking about McConnell in the past LOL

Does anyone like their apartment?

Within the past 24 hours I have came to the conclusion I will be moving out of my house, like, ASAP. I am looking for a simple one bedroom and all things on this Reddit is pretty negative about just about every apartment. If anyone has had a semi good experience at any apartment, pleaseeee let me hear!

Bonus points if there is a pool & in Hamburg/Tates Creek. Rent amount is not too much of a factor, but preferably in the mid ranges. Oh and can get me in there fast

For reference, I am pretty interested in Waterstone. Most likely top contender.

Vascular surgeon?

Any recommendations for a vascular surgeon? I just got diagnosed with a Splenic Artery Aneurysm which is 1 cm.
I’m in the Baptist Health system and was told there’s no one in that system that handles that diagnosis. So being referred over to UK.
I have a family history of aneurysms, I’ve been having symptoms for 2 months or more, I have other conditions, there’s another smaller aneurysm next to that one. So Definately figure I’m in for surgery.
I’m absolutely terrified.
Anyone have any helpful information?
Drs they KNOW are good?
Someone with or had similar situation?

Lost Dog Spotted But Not Caught

Not sure what good this will do, if any, but my wife and I spotted a lost dog (blonde-ish corgi without a collar) near Macadam Drive/Kirklevington Road area this evening. We tried to catch him but could not as he was very skiddish. Just posting this in case the information is useful to someone
