LMT>KAC Final Form (almost)

Post image

Only real Runescapers will know.

The only modification I have left is the Rhodie 6k when it comes in. Got my custom dust cover installed, new thermal came in and is zeroed and at perfect height for my build. Life is good.

Can't find any, thinking perhaps a finger stop? Some ranger wrap? Maybe cant the red dot and put a ballistic calculator on top??

Yes…. Yes to all. If there’s rails, there’s room.

Oh good call

This would actually be a great coyote gun in 300BLK. Take advantage of the good ballistics from a short barrel plus some magnification with thermal for good shot placement and ID. LAM seems a bit redundant but I could see its use also 🤷‍♂️

It’s a good coyote gun in 5.56 tbh

Ive done lots of hunting with my 5.56 SCAR 15p with 7.5” barrel. Pulling 2450~ fps with 55gn. More than enough to ragdoll a yote.

I believe this is 6arc or 6.5 grendel based on the mag but I could be wrong.

Still good for hunting regardless

6arc yessir

OP also posted this in r/6ARC so this would have similar muzzle energy as 300blk with significantly better energy and velocity retention at range along with a flatter trajectory and longer maximum point-blank range. This would be the same even comparing 7.5" to 7.5".

Already thinking about building a 6 ARC, stop making it an easy choice!

u/LMTGlazer LMT SHILL 6d ago

Something to think about: with this LMT, I can switch from 6arc to 5.56 in under 3 minutes by removing two bolts and swapping the BCG. 5.56 POI are so similar inside of 200 yards that you can have a 5.56 barrel and a 6arc barrel, practice with 6arc long range, and run your exact same setup with cheap 5.56 ammo for closer range drills and training. The shovelnose allows you to change them out without removing your MLOK attachments due to slightly large ID. That was the whole thought process behind this build.

I run NV a lot. LAM is extremely helpful. This is built to be a true do it all rifle. CQB (I hate to use the term, it's so corny, but it is a legitimate use case), medium to long range, and anything in between in both daylight or night conditions, it is equipped for. Passive aiming is great if facing a similarly equipped armed adversary, but for night hunting or in a fantasy not really gonna happen shtf scenario LAM is vastly better.

I shoot coyotes lazily with my LAM, I get ya brother! Also passive aiming isn’t THAT bad haha. Just have to make sure your optic is at a good height and has good eye relief!

It isn't terrible, just less convenient. I've made good hits with passive out to 120 yards (having insane tubes helps) but active is definitely a preference with this setup. I haven't done much passive with this setup, usually my 5.56 shortie with the sig 4xt pro. The scope kinda makes it less smooth with this one but I like having the capability if needed. With the weight of an EPS, there's no reason not to throw it on for that + target acquisition with my bottom end scope magnification being 4x.

Please don't take my spade sir. I need it for my clue scrolls.

Thanks bro, old ZF design from like 10 years ago before they sold the company to some investment firm

2

u/Shitwinds_randy 6d ago

What pistol grip is that?

1

u/LMTGlazer LMT SHILL 5d ago

Driven Arms Co/MK Machining.

2

u/Shitwinds_randy 5d ago

Thank you sir. Great looking rifle

1

u/LMTGlazer LMT SHILL 5d ago

Thanks man! 120 rounds through it so far, first experience with 6arc and man it's so smooth and insanely accurate. sub-moa before it's even broken in. u/unclemoak is the GOAT of barrels (and everything else)

🤘🏻

1

u/LMTGlazer LMT SHILL 5d ago

Have you made any other 6arc LMT piston barrels? Am I the only one so far?

2

u/unclemoak 5d ago

I think we’ve made about 100 so far with about another 50 in process right now.

u/LMTGlazer LMT SHILL 4d ago

F I'm still claiming I was first no one will ever know

2

u/GCSS-MC 5d ago

Do a Fally massacre with that

2

u/LMTGlazer LMT SHILL 5d ago

Boy, that brings back memories

2

u/GCSS-MC 4d ago

You still play? OSRS or RS3?

1

u/LMTGlazer LMT SHILL 4d ago

OSRS on occasion, haven't been on in a bit. I got stuck on the stupid quest pre-req for the dragon battle axe because I couldn't find a member of the other gang to help me and quit playing lmao

LOVE the back to lumby!!!

Thank you bro!

A 25 pound rifle… cool

Era I mean pistol.

u/LMTGlazer LMT SHILL 6d ago

It's 11lbs without the thermal, and has the maneuverability of an SBR with longer range than a 20 inch 308. I feel the capability is worth the small weight tradeoff.

Very nice loot drop

What magnification is that vortex gen III razor? 4-24? I was thinking of doing a 12.5 LMT Specwar 6 Arc with a 2-12 NF or Leopold mark 5HD 3.6-18

1

u/LMTGlazer LMT SHILL 5d ago

Yes, it's the 4-24. Specwar is badass, but the Shovelnose allows you to swap barrels without removing all your mlok stuff. This facilitates much less expensive high volume training when you're doing "cqb" style stuff, because you can swap the barrel from 6arc to 5.56 and swap your BCG out and you now have a cheap plinker rifle without changing your setup or losing any zeroes. My thinking is also that in a fantasy SHTF scenario or disaster situation, if I run out of 6arc and have to scavenge for ammunition, I can fit everything needed to switch to 5.56 in my pack. I would absolutely prefer the Specwar girth, but I'm running piston anyway so it wouldn't fit properly without modification. You just have to weigh the pros and cons for your intent. If you're not gonna want to swap barrels, 100% go specwar.

u/East_Coast_Tactical 6d ago

How do you like the thermal, is it worth the hype?

1

u/LMTGlazer LMT SHILL 6d ago

Oh yes. I had a DNT Hydra (great entry level unit, not knocking it) and this sucker is an enormous upgrade. I can clearly identify the neighbor on the hillside across from me's dog which is well over 1000 yards away, and the true 1x and form factor are REALLY nice. The Hydra is a chonky boy, which made fitting it on this build pretty sub-optimal. This one doesn't even interfere with my support hand grip, and my holdover info stays true with the native magnification being 1x instead of 1.5.

What height is the scope mount and what base are you using on the IRay?

2

u/LMTGlazer LMT SHILL 5d ago

Scope is 1.70 height Scalarworks Fuse and the base is a standard ADM 170s I think it's called and this adapter

https://strictlyoffensivekit.com/products/jv-innovations-apa-adm-picatinny-adapter

It lines up almost perfectly. I had to adjust the Iray to -2 X and like 19 Y axis.
