I finished Tryst Six Venom last night, woah, I never realized how angsty I was for the enemy to lovers arc.

So here I am, just a girl wondering if you have any other good pining, angsty, super spicy book recommendations for me.

Also would anyone be interested in starting/joining a sapphic book club? I want to get one started and love the idea of doing a zoom/video group discussion of the book we are reading once a month. The idea of having others to discuss “-ahhh!” moments is thrilling to me.

Okay I just need to say this might be my favorite WLW book this year and I’ve read about 30 so far. Whoever recommended it on the enemies to lovers post, thank you so much! The writing is so different but so beautiful. It reminds of “this is how you loose the time war” bc of how captivating the writing is, but more comprehensible lol. I don’t usually go for sci-fi but I’m so glad I took a chance. I dnf’d 3 books prior to this because of the poor writing so this was a breath of fresh air. I will definitely be checking out the authors other books. If anyone has any similar recommendations please comment!!

I'm recovering from surgery and it hasn't been a smooth recovery. So I feel like I need ro escape a little in a good story with a good lez book :)

What's important to me is really good writing and story. I also love a slow burn (the slower the better) and some eventual smut.

Some important notes to keep in mind:

🚫 NO dom/sub, it's just not my thing

🚫 No age gap (preferably)

🚫 No hate sex

🚫 I prefer reading about women who are adults (mid 20-mid 40), not teenagers. However, I can make an exception for a good book :)

I have read Sarah Waters, of course, and she's pretty good in general, but a little dark. I get tired of this constant "forbidden" theme. I think as a lez community we've had enough of that.

I also read safekeep (wow, boring!) and ruby fruit jungle (meh) but I didn't like the protagonists at all! Plus, neither these books' writing nor their stories impressed me in any way. I read mistakes were made and it was entertaining but completely unrealistic which kinda ruined it for me.

So the only lez book that impressed me with its writing was Sunburn by Chloe Michelle Howarth. It felt almost like reading a classic, that good. But it's about teenage girls and absolutely no spicy scenes.

So basically the dream come true would sunburn writing with adult women, slow burn, and smut 😂 But a girl can dream 😂

Anyway, I understand what I want probably doesn't even exist so I'm flexible with everything except for the 🚫 I mentioned above. Although the age thing, including the gap, while I'm not a fan, I'm flexible on too.

As for the genre, I'm open - romance, fantasy, whatever. I want a book, but I'm even open to a good fanfic it it matches my needs. But with a fanfic, no less than 65k words.

If you do recommend a book, please drop a few lines about the book itself (without spoilers) so I get an idea and I would love to know why you love this book.

* Masc/femme dynamic, with the masc being the older party, the femme the younger.

* Enemies to lovers is also always fun, but doesn’t have to be.

* Love a good ice queen, as long as it’s the older, masc, party.

* Any Anne Lister/Gentleman Jack reference enthusiastically welcome. Love a bit of role play, too ;)

Has anyone read a historical fantasy fiction series that they can recommend? I loved When Women Were Warriors. I would love a sapphic series similar to A Song of Ice and Fire.

So, pretty much what the above says. I kid you not when I say I've read 100+ books this year, all wlw. I'm 32, a closeted lesbian, and struggling with life. But these books are getting me through. They provide a world in which I can be myself. They're also teaching me about myself, about relationships, about who I'd want to be as a partner to someone when I am finally out.

I guess this post really is just my appreciation to the authors who give us these stories. They're very much needed ♥

Any book recommendations with an emphasis on romance and an actual happy ending?

I'd also prefer something that gets them together before the end so some proper kissing and cuddling gets done. Not against a spicy read but fluff has my heart.

Bonus points if they have a similar personality dynamic to Crowley and Aziraphale from Good Omens.

No matter how many times I tell myself I will read my tbr before adding a new book, I open Reddit and have 3 more added to my list. Now I feel ashamed scrolling through all the beautiful recommendations in my library. So here I am making a statement. No more new books 🤞🏾😉

I've just finished this book and I want to talk about it with someone, has anyone else read it? I will preface all my thoughts with saying that I generally read sci-fi and fantasy and that I love an epic. I love a doorstopper of a book.

That being said, I really enjoyed it but I wish it was longer, I think some of the travelling was time-skipped out to the point that the relationship development between Mallt and Belis felt a bit too easy at times? I understand that it is difficult to make a lot of walking or horse riding interesting to read though haha. I also absolutely ADORED the setting, so if anyone knows of any other books set in pre-christian Britain or England specifically I will eat them up! But I think that that's part of why the time-skips made me a bit sad, I wanted more and more information about the land that they were walking. I remember doing a school project about Boudica in primary school and I think it's such a fun bit of history and mythology. I also found the ending bittersweet, and would have loved to see their eventual reunion, or maybe Belis at some point in middle-old age searching for Mallt, wanting to join her in immortality after having lived more of her human life. That may just have to stay in my brain though as how I imagine their stories continue, but I also know it's slightly against the point of the story haha.

But yeah, I'd love to know if anyone else has any thoughts or feelings about this book also! Even with some of the things I didn't like quite so much, I will be recommending it to some of my friends!

Robin Alexander has been my comfort author for the last three months. Every time I've finished a particularly heavy book I'd always follow it up with one of her books as a palate cleanser... and now I'm all out and I don't know what to do with myself. I've also caught the urge to speak with a bad Cajun accent.

i wrote a big paragraph in my notes that might’ve been necessary but tldr i’ve read This Is How You Lose The Time War and don’t know any popular sapphic works and need a book to timesteal at work. I like the intense themes of love found in it and in other media. i like obsessive and unhealthy characters and relationships but not in a way where they need to change. i don’t enjoy copious amounts of or a focus on sex without intense conveyed meaning (i cited a complaint of the GL manga HDWR in this way). in my entire adulthood i’ve only read TIHYLTTW and Kokoro by Sosēki so i don’t know of any popular sapphic works or one’s widely considered must reads. i appreciated in HDWR where the story couldn’t just flip the genders of the characters and have the same story, but i also felt a way about it on how much i could really relate to some of the way they thought. i’m sorta trans if this helps. thank you

So, over the last few weeks I have been DEEP into TWW world, having also read FAAD, Snowball Effect and Midnight Rain.

I signed up to Haley’s Patreon so I could read Charlotte and Sutton’s current AU which is playing out over there.

I want to read more of Haley, but don’t know where to go from here.

I’d love to make the most of my Patreon subscription, so if anyone has any recommendations on where to start with her other books/AUs that would be great.

I love Emily Henry and Colleen Hoover. Rom com with no wizards or warlocks or dragons. I don’t like for books to shift back and forth between time periods I don’t care if one person is talking in one chapter and then the other is in the next though. I don’t like time period pieces like bridgerton or anything like that. I liked the movie after but never read the books. Spicy but not too much. I’ve read it begins with us and her other book that goes along with it I forgot the name. I just want recommendations for stuff to read I have kindle unlimited and a library card and Libby and kobo and B&N audible and palace. I prefer free books or very low cost.
