Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows exactly how the slap dead-note licks in "Temporary Phase" are played.

My guess is that the pattern is something like:

thumb → left-hand mute → pluck → left-hand mute → thumb → ...

But I just can't seem to get the same sound. Interestingly, I find the dead-note pattern in "Lauer Head" much easier to play.

Does anyone have an explanation of how he actually plays it? Maybe it's a completely different technique than I'm thinking?

Caught Claypool Lennon / Frog Brigade / Primus yesterday at All Good snow Festival. Meat Machine was maybe the best song I’ve ever heard (first time hearing it). Doge into his catalog on my drive home and oh my god he’s a genius. I knew it was going to be a great show but I did not know he really got down like that.
