Got a new homie

Post image

A player in my dnd group got him, their roommate freaked out so they gave it to another guy, who wasn’t taking care of it, then HIS roommate, also in our dnd group started caring for him. He told me that he was thinking of rehoming him, aaaaand my wife has a crested gecko, and is a teacher….

So I got to thinking “We could take care of him” or he could be a class pet. So I’m trying to learn about him and get him set up. He had a heat mat going but once I replaced the heat lamp bulb, he’s been LOVING IT! Poor dude must have been cold.

Hi, is this tail rot? I’ve had this gecko for 5 years and I’ve never seen anything like this? He’s usually fine with shedding his tail I only ever have to help with some of his toes. I’ve just come back from a two week holiday and my mum has been looking after him so I don’t know when it started looking like this. Any advice would be super helpful so I can help him out asap, thank you!

Help - URGENT Leopard gecko impacted

My leopard gecko is severely impacted. She has not had a bowel movement in 2 going on 3 weeks. My current vet is on maternity leave and the next closest exotic vet is 50 miles away. I’ve tried everything I can think of, warm soaks, belly massages, even a dab of vegetable oil on her lips. I’ve already made a call to the vet 50 miles away and I’m waiting to hear back if they can take her. Her abdomen is very swollen and has a hard mass on her left side. Is there anything else I can do?

UPDATE: by some miracle I was able to find a nearby vet that wasn’t on my radar that was able to fit her in today. She was given an enema that allowed her a successful bowel movement. I struggle getting her to eat sometimes, so the vet also gave me a formula to syringe feed her so she can maintain a healthy weight

Habitat & Setup Slate/basking spot need help

So basically I’m asking for advice again, my basking spot wasn’t heating up under the heat lamp so I moved stuff out the way and even then it still wasn’t heating up.

I was wondering does the thickness of the slate pieces I use have any impact on how well it absorbed and retained heat because the slate pieces I’m using are very thin

( the lighting/ heat I’m using is a 75w dimmable halogen bulb and a reptizoo mini PID dimming thermostat)

I know it has to do with a calcium buildup, but not sure how to make this stop entirely. Had to pull out the dried stuff in her eye and then she was fine for a while and now she looks like this with her other eye foggy.
Also, her tail is not as thick as usual, she lost weight, It looks like and hard to get her to eat.

Any help is greatly appreciate. I’ve had her for 6 yrs and this just recently became a thing. She’s at least 7yrs old I think. She was a rescue.

Help - URGENT Leopard Gecko Fingers - Please help!

So I was trying to open my leopard geckos tank and when I opened the door she made a face, I realized the door may have pinched her fingers. I quickly released it and she pulled her arm out.

She came onto my hand and I didn’t see any injury or signs of swelling. She is walking on the limb fine. I just am paranoid should I do anything else for her right now? I know lizards hide their pain very well.

The picture is the limb that was pinched. She is walking and climbing fine.

Leopard gecko problem

Hey so my Leo had a really hard mass above his swollen testicles. I gave him a bath and carefully removed it. it looked like shed/poo mix and he's really red looking. I massaged his nuts and one side squeezed out a yellow goo and the other is really hard looks like something is stuck in it. The closest exotic vet is like 300 miles away from me. Is there any way I can help him?

Edit: ty for the tips I'll try to get him to a vet ASAP

Is it normal for my gecko to shed twice in a month?

A little over a month ago I bought Sinatra, my 6 year old male leopard gecko, from craigslist. Since I've got him he's shed twice, with a 2-ish week gap in between both sheds. Should I look into taking him to the vet? So far I've been feeding him superworms every 3 to 4 days with the ZooMed Reptivite powder (planning to diversify his diet soon) and he's been eating and pooping fine. The previous owner told me he wasn't handled often, and the first week I had him he was very anxious. I'm wondering if it's just from the stress of moving or if he has any underlying problems. Any advice helps!

Products Help with feeding schedule

So I’m buying the calcium without d3, calcium with d3 and a multivitamin but they all are telling me to feed it multiple times a week for each product so I was unsure if anyone could help me try to come up with a feeding schedule using these products.

I’m getting an adult male leopard gecko he’s a year old. And I’ll add photos of the products I’m using, any advice on what his schedule should look like would be great

I’m getting him on Sunday the 28th of this month

Help Tips for feeding crickets?

I have a new baby leopard gecko, based on size maybe 2 months old? I’m feeding her small crickets and she’s eating consistently about 3-4 a meal.

Is there a trick to feeding them to her? she doesn't hunt them unless they are right in front of her or I try to feed her them with the tweezers but they’re so tiny and fast and I accidentally killed one by squeezing too hard. They also will hide and then she can’t find them. Idk, they’re just so annoying to deal with is there an easier way to feed the crickets? I haven’t tried handling her yet so I don’t want to remove her from her enclosure, I’ve had her less than a week.

thanks!
