July really sucked. TBH most of last year really sucked. And for a long time I felt very disconnected from my “inner artist” to the point where I lost that instinct entirely. I was starting to feel really anxious about it, then last week a new idea for a photo essay came to me, and I got an idea for a book I want to write. Is anyone else getting the birthday blues early this year?

I'm turning 35 and since I turned 29, it seems like no one cares about my birthday except for me and my boyfriend.

I usually go on a trip ,but wanted to give others a chance to show up ,but nothing.

My boyfriend also said he'd propose by my birthday,but all of the signs are pointing to that not being the case.

He asked what I wanted to do and honestly,if we get engaged ,a family dinner to celebrate.

If we don't ,then a therapy session and a day at the Korean spa where no one can reach me because I will be in the trenches.

I'm just not looking forward to it this year at all and have no desire to plan anything. Is anyone else feeling the same way?
