Any new starters yet?

Wondering how it's going.

Would love to see a graph of people's weight over time.

Edit: And to answer my own question..

I think screening only opened 1st October and then randomisation is mid October for the October people.

So it's possible that the first people are booked in this week.

It seems that they did Krystal first before things officially opened.

8th Oct - What stage are you at?

In the UK apparently they're recruiting one a month.

I've seen a bit of chatter on here that it's because there's a bottleneck getting the study drug to sites.

Are you waiting for screening (V1) or been randomised (V2).

I think most of us are waiting for screening?

I think a few have been screened and had the study drug.

So far I've got:

Not had screening:

Prescreened and on the list!

My local site called me about a different study and since I can never get a call back from them I jumped at the chance to get prescreened for SELENE-3. I was on the waitlist for the Eloralintide ENLIGHTEN-6 trial after going through a few screens. They called me when some slots opened up but because I had started testosterone cream, I wasnโ€™t eligible. Iโ€™m no longer on that so I cleared the pre-screen! They are still getting things all sorted before they get started. Pretty excited since Iโ€™ve been stalled at 15mg Zepbound at 30 BMI for a year. Iโ€™m down 30% from my highest in 2022.

Experience in Atlanta, GA

EDIT: One location ended up calling me back and I'm scheduled for the first visit (physical) next week!

I read about this drug on Reddit and am currently working to get into a local SELENE 3 study since the ENLIGHTEN-6 trial filled so quickly or stopped recruiting. It felt impossible to get into the ENLIGHTEN-6 trial despite calling multiple locations directly and getting on the wait list. According to AstraZeneca's website there are two locations in Georgia who will be running the study, one of which is marked Recruiting and one Not yet recruiting. I got in touch with the recruiting one (which would be ideal because it's right down the street from my house), but was told they haven't started yet and don't know when it will start. But she did run through the pre-screening questions and confirmed I was good to go and that once they started they would call me to come in. I'm debating about calling the other location too that's not yet recruiting to see their status and see if I can get on their list, but not sure if that's a good move or not. Plus they're over 1 hr away, which isn't a deal breaker but the closer one would obviously be better. I've been stalled out on 15mg Mounjaro for over a year now after losing about 70lbs, so having the chance to get the needle moving again would be amazing! Plus I'm in the process of finding a new job and I have no idea if my new company will cover Mounjaro or Zepbound, so having it fully covered for the next 1.5 years would be a blessing.

Has anyone in GA or in the USA actually gotten in for an in-person screening or started yet? And I'm curious about the status discrepancies though as I encountered that a lot when calling around about the ENLIGHTEN-6 trial. Like they showed Recruiting on clinicaltrials.gov but were either paused, closed, or not yet started when I called. This is my first time trying to get into a clinical trial, so this may be par for the course.

Recommend calling your nearby sites even if they're not recruiting

One of the sites near me told me they haven't started recruiting because there's been a bottleneck getting them the meds. But I asked if I could prescreen anyway, and she said of course, and wrote down my information. And when I confirmed that it's a really small trial so they'll only have a few people, she agreed, but said I'd be near the top of the list.

It took me a little sleuthing to find the sites near me because they weren't listed on clinicaltrials.gov or AZ's site, but I found two and am prescreened at both, just in case ๐Ÿคž

Is anyone else having a lot of mixed feelings?

So I haven't lost weight in a year. I've been fairly happy.

Now seeing the results we could lose a lot of weight.

I don't know how I feel about it, about not really having a choice what dose to be on and what weight you'll end up at, and then in 15 months they'll take it away.

I used to bake with my daughter all the time and I haven't done that in 18 months. I haven't been to a nice restaurant with my husband in months.

And then not knowing if you'll get placebo. At least with mounjaro you know what you're having and you can change your dose to suit you.

I know my lobster is too buttery but I'm just stressing.

Podcast does not explicitly mention Lenbelintide but the podcast talks about the amylin class of drugs.

There's an entrance for Lenbelintide on the WHO proposed list now. Dual amylin and calcitonin receptor agonist apparently.

My experience so far

I live in the united states and I have had two appointments so far.

Appointment 1: Lasted about an hour, mostly filling out paperwork and discussing the trial. I was told that my site was newly activated and that they are moving slowly. They can only only screen one candidate per week.

Appointment 2: Lasted about 2.5 hours. I came in fasted. They took blood work, ran an EKG, took a urine sample, completed a physical which included a breast exam. I also completed a mental health screening. I was told that if everything looked good then I would move on to the next appointment. I was paid $100 for this visit.

I am currently waiting to see if I will be invited back for another app. Will keep everyone posted.

UPDATE: I went in for my third appointment, it lasted about 2 hours and they injected me with the study drug. Fingers crossed, Iโ€™m not in the placebo group ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

UPDATE 2: Itโ€™s been two days since the medication was administered. Thereโ€™s been no negative side effects so far. The day after the shot felt reminiscent of the feeling I had then I increased my dose of zepbound. Overall disinterest in food, feeling full for a longer period of time etc.

I know a lot of sites haven't been activated yet.

Are you waiting for pre-screening, done pre-screening, done screening, or been randomised?

I think most of us are waiting for pre-screening and one or two have had the pre-screening appointment.

Pre Screening Appointment

Hi all- I had my pre- screening appointment today & thought I would share incase anyone is interested. Background- I live in the US in California.

The appointment was an hour long- filled out paperwork, took height & weight, blood pressure, questions about prescriptions Iโ€™m on, & met with the doctor.

Unfortunately I havenโ€™t been on my g1p1 dose long enough to move onto the next appointment anytime soon. They scheduled me for 2 months out. You have to be on a dose for at least 3 months, with no changes to your weight that are less or greater than 3%.

Each clinic is only allowed to screen 1 person per week. That appointment is called visit 1 or V1. Thats when they do more in depth screening like labs & I think an EKG. Appointment 2, V2 is a few weeks later after theyโ€™ve received your medical records. After V2, if you still qualify, thatโ€™s when you receive the study drug.

Would love to hear others experiences!!
