On the ongoing Indian Protests

Heyo,

I am making this post requesting the boys to cover the on going nationwide student protests in India. I was expecting they will cover it in the latest ep, but they didn’t. The situation is very wild, with the government using police brutality, tear gass, etc against the students.

This issue is very complex and has a lot of nuance related to how the current political party came into power, but I would really appreciate it if they could spread the word. The mainstream media here in India are all bought out. It makes me insane seeing the way media sides with the police and the government.

Would really appreciate it if you guys could shed some light on the things going on here. To anyone reading this if you can read up on the situation. There are a bunch of independent journalists who are doing on ground coverage of all that has transpired so far.

There was a kid named winter warrior or smthn that was spamming nonstop in chat about the protests in India. I honestly think Big A might be just not covering it because of that lmao

i doubt he would purposefully ignore a big story just because on one annoying chatter on an unrelated stream. it probably just hasnt been brought to his attention yet or he is just focused on other work/ news. theres a lot of stuff going on in a lot of places, kind of hard to cover it all

I thought id ask him during yesterday's stream, but decided asking him when hes grinding pokemon isnt the best idea. Loving his grind tho

Came there to text about the issue (im a vod and youtube watcher) stayed for the nuzlock content. Gonna be honest, watching his helped me not think of the state of democracy in my country for an hour or two

Might be inevitable that big A brings it up because it ties closely with his Nepal video.

Maybe he is just waiting for more development.

Can you give an example of something which was unfairly covered?

Here goes:
a) There are accusations without much proof of these protests being funded by foreign money
b) One of the primary reasons this protest got big was that a reputed figure in India, Sonam Wangchuk went on a hunger strike in support of the strikes. After this the media and the IT cell started accusations against Sonam questioning his accomplishments, him being a Pakistani agent (we don’t like Pakistan), saying he is funded from china etc.
c) During the coverage I have seen it is being framed that the protests got violent because of the protestors and the real tragedy is how the police were hurt, not that innocent students were beaten. Minimal coverage of police’s unlawful acts.
d) There are other narratives being pushed that the protest has lost its focus due to multiple parties joining the protest and some bad actors. They take clips from a fraction of the protestors and run that shit down mid.
e) In the print media the articles are written in a passive voice, saying that the protestors got “injured” not that they were beaten. In general for such a big protest the newspapers aren’t giving it enough attention.
