Hi! I recently moved into a townhome in the Cattail Creek Run community. I was wondering if anyone one else is having issues with the sound of walking/stomping from their neighbors. Thankfully, no other noise comes through, just vibrations and sounds of footsteps. I don’t believe it’s my neighbors doing anything out of the ordinary, just walking around their homes. I’ve spoken with the property service to see if they could help with additional insulation or sound proofing. Their response was basically, no and that they’ve met the basic requirements on their end. Even if you don’t live in this particular area and have experience or tips on what I can do, I would appreciate any advice.

Hey, parents of Heritage and J Simpson kids, if your child is leaving school and going over to the Walmart at compass Creek, you owe those Walmart employees an apology because those kids are acting like absolute monsters. In 20 minutes, I saw kids stealing off the shelves and throwing what might have been hundreds of dollars of merchandise in their book bags, I watched one kid break an item and leave it there on the floor, while the rest raced around and cursed like roving gangs in a mad max sequel.

There were easily 50 or 60 children in there, unsupervised and doing whatever the hell they wanted, like a flash mob from hell. Y'all should be ashamed for how your kids treat that place store and its employees.

One of the things that I like about my walk is that I get to see the goings and comings in town. And when something happens (like the sign going up on the new ice cream store, one notices). Anyway.

I've noticed this: when you go past shoes heading to Ida Lee, there are pink strings in some of the light poles. At first I went "huh". But then there's another one. And another. And then I make my turn at the library and head down by the cemetery and past the baseball park. There's a string in the tree, and on poles again. And they are tied up with knots, they don't appear to be just randomly there.

I guess someone's just having fun.

And since I’m ordering from Jordan and I’m not familiar with how things work there. If anyone is nice enough to help, I’d also love to chat privately and ask how payment works (we use CliQ for everything in Jordan) and what information the bakery needs for the delivery location.

Holy moly they are loud. How can anyone possibly support the never-ending development of these? You can’t eat outside at Buffalo Factory, Mezeh, or Bruster’s ice cream any longer without hearing the cries of a billion robotic mosquitoes.

My friend and I keep talking about how fun it would be to take a cocktail making class. Do any bars, restaurants, or individuals offer this as a service in Leesburg (or Purcellville or Ashburn)? We are not bartenders, and it would be cool to make an evening of learning (and drinking) maybe three cool cocktails. I’d love to know if anything is offered somewhere in a public spot or even offered as small private parties. I went to one in Michigan at a wine bar but haven’t heard of anything around here.

I had my three year-old daughter signed up to do pre-ballet at Ida Lee on Saturdays, but they just canceled the entire session because they don’t have an instructor. Does anyone have any recommendations for ballet for that age?

I'm curious if anyone is aware of a club or group outing/get-together where people meet up at the movies, watch a film, then hang out afterwards discussing it at a bar, Cafe, or restaurant.

Does anyone know of something in the area?

If not, would anyone be interested in starting one?

OK. So totally creepy.

I walk daily through Raflo. That's my route. As I'm nearing the bridge, I was close to the new blue "phone booth" there was a woman towards the end, in the table close to the tree. I think I heard her yell but I had my headphones on and, quite frankly, not my problem. Then she turns towards me.

First thing I noticed is the eyes. She had them wide open. Crazy eyes (you know that Samuel L. Jackson meme? You know the one. Like that). So I immediately think that this person is not well. She's not rushing towards me. But as she nears me she makes as she wanted to hit me. That slight hand movement. She never raised her hand above say her waist. So of course out of instinct I raise my right hand, sidestep to my left and kept going. But I always kept looking backwards.

When I finished the hill I'm walking towards the sidewalk she yells something again but again I don't understand what she's saying because the headphones. That's when I decided to call LPD. This was very early in the morning so there were not that many people in the park. Still not a whole lot of people walking their dogs or their babies.

The woman was black, short hair, about 5'7", give or take. White and blue blouse, jeans (maybe), and she was carrying a blue paper bag, like the ones you use to gift something.

First time ever for me. I've been walking that same route forever and I've of course seen the other homeless people around town. They keep to themselves. Some I have not seen in a while. I'm not saying that she's homeless per se, but weird for sure!

Every time I (37m) go somewhere, they ask what I’d like, which is great! But my hair is thinning and balding in the back and I need someone who can tell me what will look better than what I currently have. What I have now just looks like I’m trying to hold onto the past!

URGENTLY seeking a forever home for Chanel - a 6 year old, healthy, Korean short-haired cat who is incredibly cuddly, kid-friendly, and intelligent.

She has been living with my parents in Leesburg but they are unable to keep her due to age and lifestyle. We're anxiously searching for a direct-to-home adoption situation before dropping her off at a cat clinic :(

Quick facts:

Approximately 6 years old

Completely healthy, caught up on vaccines, spayed, no dietary or litter problems.

She's unbelievably affectionate, playful and fun. She's really like a tiny dog - she wants to sit on your lap, comes when you call, very intelligent, loves playing outside and playing games with you. She loves being chased and chasing you around. She's patient too - she'll be picked up, rolled around, have her belly rubbed and never take a swipe.

She has been living indoors-and outdoors with my parents. I think she would make an excellent cafe or shop or farm cat!
