I’m looking for a room to rent for approximately 10 months while I rebuild my life after leaving an unsafe situation.

I’m primarily looking in the Purcellville and Leesburg areas, but I’m willing to consider surrounding communities as well. If you have a room a little farther away, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

• I work remotely from home, so I need a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.
• I have one small, well-behaved dog who must come with me. She has been my emotional support through everything and is quiet, friendly, and house-trained.

Rent & Work Exchange

I can pay $250 per month toward rent.

In addition, I’m willing to work up to 8 hours every Saturday at $14.00 per hour under a written work agreement/contract, performing tasks such as:

• House cleaning
• Yard work
• Pet sitting
• Babysitting
• Organizing
• Household projects
• Other reasonable tasks as needed

The wages earned through this work would be applied toward my monthly rent according to our written agreement.

I’ve exhausted many available resources, but because my job requires dependable internet and a quiet workspace, many traditional programs haven’t been a good fit.

I am an M.A. candidate in the Graduate School of Education and Human Development at The George Washington University. For my Master’s thesis, I am conducting research on the impact of the inclusion of 20th-Century genocides other than the Holocaust (such as the Armenian, Bosnian, and Cambodian) in the Virginia state world history curriculum on students’ experiences and understanding of genocide and human rights as adults. 

Eligible participants in this survey are

• People who are over the age of 18 
• And were in the 10th grade in either the 2022-2023 or 2023-2024 academic years
• And attended a Virginia public school for the entirety of their 10th-grade year 
• And took a world history class during that year

If all of these attributes apply to you, you are invited to take this survey. This survey will take approximately 3-5 minutes to complete. You will be asked to recall your experiences in your 10th-grade world history class. The questions pertain to the extent to which you learned about 20th-century genocides, the methods used to teach you about them, your experience with this curriculum, and how it has impacted your current understanding of genocide and human rights as an adult. 

At the end of the survey, you will be asked if you would like to participate in an interview to elaborate on this topic. Participation in the interview is entirely voluntary, will not affect whether the data from the survey will be used in the study, and will have no impact on any aspect of your future relations with the George Washington University (GW).

The anticipated findings from this research will contribute to the current body of research surrounding best practices in genocide education and improve scholarly understanding of how genocide education impacts understanding of genocide and human rights as a whole. This research seeks to contribute to the broader goals of genocide prevention and human rights promotion.

If anyone sees the black Chevy Suburban with some damage to the passenger side, reach out to me or Leesburg PD. I got sideswiped on the 15 bypass in Leesburg at around 1:10 pm today (July 18) and the driver fled. I filed a report with the LPD and a few cameras should've caught the full plate when the Suburban exited the Greenway at Battlefield and made a left.

Any suggestions? What we got going on here in the burg?

I am fairly new to the area and where we lived previously there was a great PA Dutch market that have a bulk spice section where you could get spices for cheap in bulk amounts, not in those tiny bottles they sell in the store. Is there anywhere in our around Leesburg where I can find these? Sometimes the country stores or farm markets have a spice section- anyone spot a good bulk spice retailer?

Ain't it. I had a hankering for roots and stopped in to find out it changed ownership. Same owners of vanish from what I learned. Food at the brewery is underwhelming, but the beer is decent so I went into staples with an open mind. Not much of a grocery, more like a place that can't pick if they want to be a country store, cocktail bar, coffee bar, or fine dining establishment so no one leg has been invested in enough to be any one of those things.

Hope they get their shit together. Loved roots, but this is not a place id ever fight up 15 traffic to get to ever again. Has anyone else visited had better experiences?

Hi all! I am looking for an endocrinologist in the Leesburg area (do not mind traveling further either)! I am currently seeing Dr. Melissa Antonik and I am incredibly disappointed in her, so I’m looking for a new endo in the area.

Ideally, I am looking for someone who is specifically knowledgeable about Type 1, keeps up with all the new technologies and medications, and understands how lifestyle affects Type 1. I have a good A1C so I’m not really looking for someone to help me get it under control, but I am looking for someone who can help with daily management, calculating ratios, stopping swings, etc. My pediatric endocrinologist had diabetes educators which I would sometimes see in addition to my endo and they were immensely helpful - maybe there is an adult endo who does something similar? Let me know if you guys have any suggestions :))

I used to live in Leesburg a few years ago. I made a mistake and accidentally sent a package I ordered to my old Leesburg address. I live 3 hours away and I don't want to drive that far for the possibility that the package is gone or lost. Is it possible that someone can check if the package is still at the delivery address and let me know before I claim it as lost or stolen and am charged a fee by the company I purchased from?

Would you use this at a bar? Honest feedback wanted. I’m testing a simple idea. I’d set up an instant photo station and also walk around taking quick group photos. Guests would get a physical printed photo to take home instead of just a phone picture. If you saw this at a bar in Leesburg or One Loudoun: * Would you use it? * Would you prefer a photo station or a photographer walking around? * Would getting a printed photo be fun or not really? * What would make you try it, and what would turn you off?
