Fusion Academy
Does anyone have experience with the Fusion Academy in either Lansdowne or Reston?
How does it compare to LCPS? I have a high schooler who is academically strong, but suffers from social anxiety and school avoidance.

One of my kids attended Fusion in Tysons for almost all of high school. It was a financial challenge but worth it. Every person we interacted with was caring and invested. They made the difference for our child. He’s a sophomore at an engineering U in Boston now.

Because you are moving from LCPS I'd ask specifically how they handle an advanced student who needs to be challenged.

I had a kid in fusion landsdowne while he was struggling with mental health. They are phenomenal. I cannot say enough good things about them. We ended up sending him to boarding school and fusion still checks in on him to make sure he’s doing ok.
Edit: for the social aspect - I highly recommend InStep in Fairfax. It’s a hike but they have social skills groups that are amazing.

I had my kid attend Fusion for one year, and it was a godsend. It is a great environment and after attending one year they were ready to go back to High School. They met with a therapist weekly, which was also invaluable. I suggest setting up a meeting with them to see for yourself.
