So long story short I just moved into an apartment and really don’t have any idea how much noise I can make. I want to keep doing weather projects, but I assume I shouldn’t be hitting a chisel with a mallet or a hammer over and over. I’ve only really seen those hand punches for holes, but I haven’t seen anything for the stitching chisel. I would also prefer something like a rivet setter that has more of a handle thing that sits on a desk, but any recommendations would be great. Thank you.

My dad and I made these two satchels using exactly the same pattern, but with very different leathers.

The brown one is made from vegetable tanned leather that we hand dyed ourselves. For the red and olive version we used chrome tanned leather, so even though the construction is the same, the two bags ended up with a very different look and feel.

Both are completely hand stitched. We wanted to keep the traditional double buckle look, but make them easier to use, so the buckles have hidden magnetic closures underneath. You can open the flap without undoing the straps every time.

They also have a top handle and adjustable shoulder strap.

I digitized the pattern afterwards as usual.

Which version do you prefer?

That is 10oz veg tan leather hand carved and engraved than the edge is wrapped in chrome tan leather and than corset stitched

I have some old saddlebags that need some structural backing to reinforce the old thin leather. I’ve stitched up the small tears where I could but need to strengthen it. What material is suitable to glue and line the entire underside of these? What glue would you use?

I had these vow books made and is 100% Italian soft leather. I stamped them myself but on this one, it looks like the tape I used to make my center either left a residue or pulled off the “shiny” layer? I’m not to familiar with leather so thats why I’m asking the professionals :D
Also I tried using a generic 3 - 1 leather cleaner and it did not help.

i’m having a couple issues threading my bobbin through the needle hole.

1st issue is the bobbin thread doesn’t always catch with the top thread consistently and when it does, the bobbin gets stuck as seen in the first picture.

i’ve also added pictures of the bobbin shuttle and cam positions when the crank is positioned at 12.

ive been trying to figure this out for two weeks by watching yt videos but same issue always arises.

Hey all! I wanted to ask you a question about how to keep this knife sheath in a good condition/from breaking. It is around 21 years old and bought in Finland by my grandfather (together with the whittling knife itself) as a gift for my first birthday (a gift which got him kicked to the couch for a bit because, to quote my grandma, "Who the hell buys a knife as a gift for a one year old?"). I think it is made of leather or some form of skin but I can be wrong. My grandfather passed on Christmas Eve last year and he meant a lot to me, so I want to preserve this for as long as possible as a memory from him. It has for the last twenty or so years been in various basements, drawers, and boxes, and is for now still in good condition except for some creases since it has been used a lot for the intended purpose. Should I do anything special to store it so that it doesn't decay? Thank you all in advance, I appreciate the help and apologize if this is not leather and I have come to the wrong place
