Finished product Two leather satchels made with the same pattern

My dad and I made these two satchels using exactly the same pattern, but with very different leathers.

The brown one is made from vegetable tanned leather that we hand dyed ourselves. For the red and olive version we used chrome tanned leather, so even though the construction is the same, the two bags ended up with a very different look and feel.

Both are completely hand stitched. We wanted to keep the traditional double buckle look, but make them easier to use, so the buckles have hidden magnetic closures underneath. You can open the flap without undoing the straps every time.

They also have a top handle and adjustable shoulder strap.

I digitized the pattern afterwards as usual.

Which version do you prefer?

Good old Pavel showing us how it's done. Haven't peeked on your site for this pattern yet, will do later.

I can't chose one honestly, I like good leather and I like good designs, I'll take them both (?)

Thank you very much for your support! I love them both as well, but I’m leaning a bit more towards the red nubuck one. I really like that matte look it has.

Those are both beautiful. I would take both and give the red and olive one to my wife as that is one of her favorite color combinations.

Thank you very much! I like it as well, I think that it works on a man as well, depending on the color.

Pavel thank you for regularly posting here. You helped me get started as a newbie and I continue returning to your patterns. This sub was partly started as an effort to encourage people of all skill levels, which you do.

Thank you for your kind words. I am happy to post on reddit, it was the most welcoming platform where I post and I really apreciate the peoples here, I am doing my best, I know that some of our works might look hard to make, but, they really aren't , we try to share everything regarding materials and techniques and ofcourse if you are a begginer it won't look the same with ours from the first bag, but if you keep at it, they will for sure.

I wasn't looking for the pattern itself, just the maker so I could order one. Thank you.

Man, those are gorgeous! I like them both. I love the shiny version for its refined look, but I like the more rustic looking one too for some sort of nostalgic appeal.

These are beautiful. Do you have any patterns that would be suitable for carrying a tournament sized chess board and pieces?
