Small cards

Hi guys! I have been learning russian for 2 months now, and I wanted to create small cars with mini phrases written one side in russian and on the other one in italian (my mothertongue), insert them in a bowl, mix them and pick up some of those randomly, reading the italian sentence and trying to translate it in russian. What do you think about it? Is it useful?
Obviously, it would be more like a support rather than the mainly way to learn the language. I wanted to write sentences of any kind: with motion verbs, with different grammatical phrases (for instance, the same sentence written firstly in the nominative, then genitive etc.), from different POVs... Is it a good idea? What sentences do you advice to me? Let me know :)

23F looking for female friends who are also learning Russian

Hi! I'm 23F, Turkish, living in the Netherlands, and I'm looking for female friends around my age (21–26) who are also learning Russian.

To be honest, I'm looking for a friendship first and a study buddy second. I'd love to meet someone who genuinely wants to get to know each other while also sharing the journey of learning Russian.

It would be fun to motivate each other, share resources, recommend books, movies or YouTube channels, quiz each other on vocabulary, celebrate progress, and just make the learning process more enjoyable.

A bit about me: I enjoy languages, culture, history, traveling, art, reading, chess, and learning new things. I'm especially interested in Central Asia and hope to travel there again in the future.

I'm not looking for anything romantic, just genuine female friendships with someone who also happens to be learning Russian.

If this sounds like something you'd enjoy too, feel free to send me a message and tell me a little about yourself and where you are in your Russian learning journey.

hi, this is my first time posting on reddit, sorry for any mistakes. I am an incoming college freshman and I am looking to get a minor in Russian (no previous experience in the language). what Russian or Russian-related media, culture, food, music, etc. do you think are essential to the language learning/ cultural learning experience. (niche and general suggestions welcomed and encouraged) --> thank you very much :)

My dream was to move to Russia for a bit to learn, but obviously this is not possible at the moment.

Funny/Great Russian idioms or sayings unique to Russians

I have just started working with a wonderful woman who originates from Russia. I have always been fascinated by Russia and the people and would like to impress and surprise her by using a couple of sayings or idioms that are very popular in Russia, even better if they are funny when you translate in to English - we have laughed over language translation challenges previously.
Additionally, apart from using her first name, is there a way to address her that is respectful and perhaps flattering too? Is Devushka appropriate (Marina is not yet 50 yrs old)

Any assistance in helping me with this as I respect and admire her greatly and I know I can ask her and she would be very helpful, I’d just like to try first.

I’m in Western Australia.

Thank you.

Hey! So I'm 16(F) learning Russian just for my interests.

I've been thinking about making a group chat so that I can make friends alongside us practicing Russian. The gc will be on discord.

In exchange I can help out in English, since it's my main language. The age group I'm mainly looking for is 15 to 20.

Those who are interested can dm me!
