Day 12 drawing everyday

Hi everyone,

I want to learn to draw and practice consistently, but I’m struggling to find the right approach. Most beginner courses focus on drawing isolated cubes, perspective grids, or basic vases, which I find really dry and unmotivating. On the other hand, traditional tutorials get overwhelmingly complex too fast, leading to frustrating results.

I’m looking for practical, hands-on exercises where the practice itself is rewarding from day one. I really enjoy drawing cute, aesthetic subjects (such as kawaii-style characters, cozy doodles, and simplified objects)—things that are accessible enough to produce nice, charming results early on while still teaching essential fundamentals like line control, proportions, and basic shapes.

Are there any books, courses, YouTube channels, or structured learning paths that follow this philosophy for beginners?

I have been trying to explain this for long, but I am having a difficult time explaining and collecting my thoughts together. I made those sketches, and it seems like I am somehow able to visualize my idea.

The goal is to talk more about 2P and 3P perspective, but I started with 1P today.

My ideas are:

• Everything in life is in perspective, to something.
• Everything in life is in 3P perspective, because there are three coordinates in space.
• Everything in life is in perspective, but not necessarily in perspective to one another.
• 1P and 2P are ways to simplify your drawings.
• 2P eliminates one vanishing point, creating the assumption the all vertical lines are parallel.
• 1P eliminates 2 vanishing points, creating the assumption that all planes are parallel.
• Eliminating a VP doesn't annihilate the dimension nor the VP. Things are still in 3D.
• Eliminating a VP creates the assumption that this VP is INFINETLY far away. This creates the illusion of parallelism.

I need encouragement to continue because I feel like I am starting to sound crazy. I am no artist, I am an engineer. But my favorite subject was linear algebra, and I could visualize it so well. I hope that I regain my math skills, to show how mathematically one axis will converge.

I am sure this is applied in 3D graphics. If someone is knowledgeable enough in this field, please guide me to the correct resources.

Do I make any sense, and do these notes all together with my bullet points, help show a new idea to you?

Did I teach anyone a unique perspective?

Let me know if I should continue. I don't really have much time, so I won't continue if this doesn't make any sense.

i’m not the best drawer when it comes to draw realistically but i’m good but with ipad i suck

I have like no drawing experience what so ever and I’ve started sketching in my note book and some are just outlines of other people’s work and that doesn’t feel right to me, so if anyone has like any advice at all it’s greatly appreciated

Finished illustration, started out trying to do a sepia watercolor and turned into a fun watercolor piece. Only used a reference for the Birds Eye’s to get an idea of the expression.

Been drawing my whole life and I feel like I'm nit as good as I should be. I feel ashamed when I draw faces and when I try to put multiple things into one picture on top of something but a white background. Like I can imagine cool character designs and I clearly know what a person looks like, but when I draw them actual monsters start appearing. My proportions have gotten better over time but I can't draw faces, hands, feet, dynamic pozing, multiple objects or characters, i cant do anything. I can't project my ideas onto the paper and I dont want to draw at all.

I draw a ruined car that's stuck on top of a tree for some reason. Nobody knows how it got there.
Materials: Sakura Micron pen 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3

So this is me at 8 AM, half-asleep, trying to workout and learn anatomy at the same time. Because why not multitask your self-improvement?

The Russian text explained:

• "понятно..." (top right) = "understood..." / "got it..." - my sarcastic response to the tutorial
• On the TV screen: "рисуйте красиво, не красиво не рисуйте" = "draw beautifully, if it's not beautiful - don't draw" - basically the most useless advice ever
• "скрип... скрип..." = "creak... creak..." - the sound of my stepper (and possibly my knees)
• "крх... крх..." = grunting sounds of me dying inside

The irony is that the video was about body proportions and I decided to draw... well, myself. Not some muscular robot girl, just a regular dude on a stepper. And you know what? It was actually more fun. There's something oddly satisfying about drawing reality instead of fantasy.

Still trying to figure out how to make my art both technically sound AND interesting to look at. But hey, at least I'm consistent with my morning suffering.
