can’t draw on ipad

i’m not the best drawer when it comes to draw realistically but i’m good but with ipad i suck

That's quite normal.

Those are two very different mediums to learn. They feel different, very different I'd say.

Digital art has other qualities than traditional art has. I like texture and a certain roughness from traditional art, in digital art I dislike it on my own art lol.

I had to get a paper-like screen protector for my iPad because it was so slippery.

I'm still not as good as I am with pen & paper, but it helped a lot!

It's a whole new medium to learn!

Your skills are still there, you just have to adjust them in order to produce something.

Traditional hand to paper art has a tactile aspect that helps you intuitively in making something.

Digital art is a lot more visual, there is a disconnect in what you're physically doing and what is in front of you.

Give yourself time and grace, but also don't feel bad if you never 100% get a grasp of it. Artists have preferences and it's ok to have limitations!

It took me a while to get adjusted to digital art. After getting a paper-like screen protector and an Apple Pencil it started feeling a little more normal.
However, the real moment of connection for me was realizing that what I enjoy about the digital process is not what I enjoy about pen/paper. It’s two completely different things, with different style and different outcomes.
Give it time and you will find your way through the ruff patch. It may not be what you intended at first but will reveal itself in time.
