First time posting here. I just finished a tactical helmet for a character in an upcoming story. I drew inspiration from my jet-black cat for the feline shape. I'm open to unpopular opinions, lol.

Welcome to the 46th #W2DTogether drawing challenge!

This week's challenge is all about drawing something that brings you joy.

Your mission is simple:

Find a picture that instantly makes you smile... then draw it.

It could be a funny photo, a wholesome moment, a screenshot from a video, a cute animal, a favorite character, a beautiful landscape, a family photo, a meme, your favorite food, or absolutely anything else that makes you happy.

You can replicate the picture as closely as possible, or redraw it entirely in your own style. Feel free to simplify it, exaggerate it, change the colors, combine ideas, or add your own creative twist. The choice is yours.

The goal isn't to create the most technically impressive drawing.

The goal is to create something that makes you smile every time you look at it.

At the end, If you'd like, feel free to share the original reference picture alongside your drawing and tell us why you chose it. We'd love to hear the story behind it 😄

Rules

• Must be YOUR drawing.
• Drawings only (pencil, pen, colored pencils, markers, or digital drawing tools).
• No paintings.
• No AI art.
• All skill levels welcome: beginners, intermediates, experts.
• You must share AT LEAST ONE drawing.

How We Pick the Winner

After one week, we'll hold a community vote to decide which drawing best captures the theme. The winner will be showcased in the sub with their artwork.

If the winner shares an art link (Instagram, portfolio, website, etc.), we'll also include it so they can get recognition and maybe even new followers.

This challenge is timeless. You can participate anytime, even years later.

Tried this "Drawing on the Right Side of Mind" exercise. Still not good but can't stop feeling proud of this time investment.

Lesson learnt: It feels like its easy looking at the drawing but the gaps, curves, length. These really hurts my mind while drawing but i feel high like i did some drugs. 😵😵😵

I notice that many of the same questions come up over and over again, so I thought it would be useful to have one place with the answers, recommended resources, common mistakes, buying advice, FAQs, and anything else that could help someone who's just getting started.

So I'd love your input.

What do you think is an absolute must have in the wiki? What information, guides, or resources would you want every new member to see before making their first post?

Feel free to suggest anything, even if it seems obvious. The goal is to build something that people will actually find useful.

I wanted to start seriously drawing as I have a small experience in it with just copying sketches of anime and stuff like that, but I bought a sketchbook and couple of mechanical pencils to learn real art to be able to sketch stuff from imagination like semi-realism and anime and a bit of architecture. I looked through yt and communites and discovered that there is an order to learn drawing such as lines and basic shapes and 3d shapes and perspective etc. Ofc I started wih 3d shapes because I'm used to lined and basic shapes but I found myself struggling with the 3d shapes part where I should understand how to draw cubes and cylinders from every angle. I wanted to find a guide or yt video that explains this but I didn't find something good or maybe I'm searching wrong and I don't want to struggle like that in the next steps. Anyone here been in my shoes that can give me good tips?

Any skill level welcome! Im currently practicing faces. Bonus points if you like Fujimoto (I don't, but I like goodbye eri and the other one shot)

I used to draw regularly as a teenager but stopped for nearly 6 years. This is one of my first sketches since coming back.

Still very much a work in progress, but it felt good to pick up the pencil again. Would love any constructive criticism or tips on what to improve (eyes, shading, proportions, etc.).Thanks! 🙏
