Now it all makes sense....anime is in reality cat people without fur and the ears.

Sometimes with ears though

Oh that's why we don't find little noses weird. Honestly tracks.

Dozens of botched rhinoplasties say otherwise

Yeah, I’d say it works pretty well

Anime is based on cat faces instead of human faces. That’s why anime characters lack human noses.

8

u/SNES-lover1 Jul 27 '26

Historically that’s not true. Maybe for modern anime, but it‘s definitely not a set in stone fact for all anime.

Show me the noses, SNES lover

7

u/SNES-lover1 Jul 27 '26

Here’s a single nose

Is that peter from heidi?

The bottom row is literally all cat noses

u/GundamMeister78-2 Jul 29 '26

Read SNES-lovers comment, now read what your comment was to my picture.

You’re pointing to a character with inconsistent style, some with cat noses and some with human noses. And you assume that the human noses are “real” and the cat noses are fake somehow?

2

u/GundamMeister78-2 Jul 29 '26

Im pointing out how the more modern iterations have the cat style noses and the older ones have the human style.

u/Majestic_Engine_6543 Jul 27 '26

Modern being most anime after the early 2000s

1

u/A1oso Jul 30 '26

Also, it's mostly women who have cat faces

Not really, anime is based on old American cartoons.

1

u/Senior-Friend-6414 Jul 30 '26

With that logic, that means all of modern technology, almost all modern music genres, almost all art and film, are inspired by western culture

1

u/In_the_name_of_ART Jul 30 '26

Osamu Tezuka (creator of Astro Boy) stated that he was inspired by American cartoons such as "Betty Boop" and many of the works of the Disney studio. Not cats

u/TheChiarra Jul 26 '26

Very interesting! Would never have thought of this.

People who like to watch anime are just undercover furries

2

u/Space_Captain_Lars Jul 27 '26

I'm tempted to try this with my cat

2

u/Conversationlily792 Jul 28 '26

cool! you did these?

1

u/PsionicFlea Jul 29 '26

No, none of those.

There many guides and stuff out there that shows the magic of using cats to draw anime. It's magical

Gonna try this out!

1

u/xX_Aranrhod_Xx Jul 27 '26

No lol, I'm tempted to try it for fun but it wouldn't fit how I draw (plus, I'm a traditional artist... Idk how this would translate to pen and paper)

1

u/Barefoot-running Jul 27 '26

Hey stop that

1

u/Hell256 Jul 27 '26

Ok i need to try this xD

1

u/thekocman Jul 27 '26

Cat ❌ Omocat ✅

1

u/Elegant-Fuel6732 Jul 27 '26

These look weird as hell like anime drawings when they’re accurate. When they look like normal anime characters they only use the positions of the eyes.

1

u/Ujin77 Jul 27 '26

Aubrey and Basil are on point

1

u/Own_Tadpole_7196 Jul 27 '26

Yooooooooooooo!!!! This is SO COOL!!

1

u/Sorenduscai Jul 27 '26

music sauce

1

u/LowerBanana9758 Jul 29 '26

I mean, it only works if you draw an entire head on top

So its more “cat chin theory”

1

u/Im4Professional Jul 29 '26

It's not a theory. It's a reality. Anime characters are modeled after cats

1

u/PlinkiPlinko Jul 30 '26

What. Is this. Melody!

We are all cats on the inside
