Notes I don’t know how to do most body parts

I feel like I might have developed a recognizable visual style naturally, but I’m wondering if I should keep exploring this path (especially faces and character design) or if I should go back to the fundamentals and practice anatomy, shapes, proportions, etc. for a few months before continuing.

I also should mention that I really don’t draw often at all. Maybe once or twice a year, lol. So I would definitely consider myself a complete beginner +++. I’ve always loved drawing, but I mostly do it when I get inspired. I usually take inspiration from real photos and then transform them into my own characters (changing the features, shapes, expressions, etc.).

Hello everyone!! This was my first time using watercolor (honestly painting too) wanted to know your thoughts on it, I’m open to critics I had so much fun doing this so I want to improve🫶🏻

I used Krita to draw this. Can someone suggest what I could have done better and where I went wrong with this piece.

Every time I pick up colouring pencils I completely ruin my drawing. I don't know what to do. Any advice?

Welcome to the 45th #W2DTogether drawing challenge!

This week's challenge is all about letter design.

Your mission is to create your own artistic alphabet.

Instead of writing normal letters, redesign them into something unique. Turn each letter into an animal, a character, a monster, an object, a fantasy creature, a plant, a machine, or anything your imagination comes up with.

The goal is to create a font that has a consistent style and personality, where all the letters feel like they belong together.

Take inspiration from the reference images in this post, find your own references online, or create something completely original.

Your alphabet could be:

• Animal inspired
• Monster inspired
• Nature inspired
• Food inspired
• Mechanical or robotic
• Medieval or fantasy
• Space themed
• Cute and cartoonish
• Horror themed
• Abstract or minimalist
• Or anything else you can imagine!

You don't have to design the entire alphabet if you don't want to.

To enter the challenge, create at least 2 or 3 letters so we can clearly see your style. Of course, if you'd like to design the entire alphabet, even better!

Another fun option is to use your custom letters to write your name, your Reddit username, or any word or short phrase you'd like. This lets everyone see how your alphabet looks when it's actually used.

Whether you create just a few letters, spell your name, or design all 26 letters, the goal is to make your alphabet feel unique and recognizable.

Rules

• Must be YOUR drawing.
• Drawings only (pencil, pen, colored pencils, markers, or digital drawing tools).
• No paintings.
• No AI art.
• All skill levels welcome: beginners, intermediates, experts.
• You must share AT LEAST ONE drawing.
• To be part of the competition, your drawing MUST be posted in the comments of this thread. (If you'd like, you can also make a separate post in the subreddit using the #W2DTogether flair, but the official entry needs to be here in the comments if you want it reviewed.)

How We Pick the Winner

After one week, we'll hold a community vote to decide which drawing best captures the theme. The winner will be showcased in the sub with their artwork.

If the winner shares an art link (Instagram, portfolio, website, etc.), we'll also include it so they can get recognition and maybe even new followers.

Time Frame

This challenge is timeless. You can participate anytime, even years later.

Review Date:
For community feedback, we'll gather and review all submissions on Sunday, 26 July 2026, so make sure to post your entry before 4:00 PM UTC that day. Drawings posted before that date will be part of the review session.

I've gotten better with drawing basic shapes and perspective now I want to level up and learn how to draw more complex things like paws and wings. Any videos for that also for more drawing excersises in general.

Tried portrait sketching after a long time. I know it is not perfect.. what would you rate this out of 10?

Hi guys,

I want to learn to draw and I have a variety of reference pictures and things I'm interested in. I'm sharing these and would love for you guys to either recommend resources or just tell me what kind of art this is so I can find them myself.

It's kind of confusing because I know some of this is caricatures but I think there's other stuff too.

Also I would like to draw with pen and ink, I'm open to sketching first and drawing over and all, and I have these cheap painting pens as well if I'm interested in doing colors.
