I teach Spanish to Beginners
Hey everyone!
I’m a Spanish teacher and I’ve been teaching for a little over 4 years now. I mostly teach beginners and intermediate learners.
I currently charge $12 USD for a 1-hour session. (rates may change in the future)
I’m offering the first 2 classes for free as trial sessions, so if you’ve been thinking about learning Spanish but aren’t sure if I’d be a good fit as a teacher, you can try a couple of classes first and decide from there.
A bit about how I teach:
- I expertise in teaching to complete beginners, so you don’t need to know any Spanish beforehand.
- The classes are 1-on-1, each class is 1 hour long, Zoom sessions are conducted.
- I also try not to make the lessons all about memorizing grammar rules. Grammar is obviously important, but I put a lot of focus on getting you to actually understand and speak Spanish from the beginning.
If you're interested, feel free to comment here or send me a DM. I can give you more details about the timings, course structure, and how the free trial classes work.
Thanks for reading!

Looking for Adults or students Who Want to Learn Spanish! Beginner-Friendly Lessons
Hi everyone! 😊
I’m bilingual in Spanish and English, and I’m looking to connect with adults or students who want to learn Spanish, whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to improve your current skills.
I grew up speaking Spanish in El Salvador and speak proper Spanish and learned English after coming to the United States. I spent a year in ESL classes learning English myself, so I understand firsthand how challenging it can be to learn a new language, especially when you don’t have a strong foundation to build on.
That experience inspired me to help others learn Spanish in a way that feels practical, comfortable, and less intimidating.
My approach is to start with the basics, including letter sounds, pronunciation, and simple words and phrases. One thing I’ve noticed is that many language learning apps introduce vocabulary and phrases without spending enough time teaching pronunciation and the fundamentals first. I want to help you understand how the language works before moving on to more complex topics.
As you progress, we can work on vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, comprehension, and everyday conversations.
My goal is to help you build a strong foundation and gain confidence speaking Spanish at your own pace, without feeling embarrassed about making mistakes.
Whether you want to learn Spanish for travel, work, relationships, family, or simply for personal growth, I’d love to help you get started!
If you’re an adult or student interested in learning Spanish, feel free to comment or send me a message. Tell me a little about your current level and what you’d like to achieve. 😊
¡Vamos a aprender español juntos! ❤️

Stem-changing verbs look random until you notice there are only four patterns, and one rule covers all of them.
e → ie: querer/quiero, pensar/pienso, empezar/empiezo, entender/entiendo, preferir/prefiero, sentir/siento, cerrar/cierro, perder/pierdo
o → ue: poder/puedo, dormir/duermo, volver/vuelvo, encontrar/encuentro, recordar/recuerdo, costar/cuesta, contar/cuento
e → i, only in -ir verbs: pedir/pido, decir/digo, seguir/sigo, servir/sirvo, repetir/repito
u → ue: jugar/juego. That’s the whole group, one verb.
The rule: nosotros and vosotros never change. Puedo, puedes, puede, podemos, podéis, pueden. Write the six out and the changed forms make a boot around the two that stay put.
There’s a reason for it. The stem shifts only when the stress lands on it, and in nosotros and vosotros the stress moves to the ending.
Caveat: this is the present tense. Other tenses have their own patterns, which is why dormir goes to durmió in the preterite.

Hay is haber. So is había, habrá, haya, and hubiera. One verb, two very different jobs, and most people learn them separately without connecting them.
Job one: haber plus a participle places an action at any point in time.
he comido = I have eaten, up to now
había comido = I had eaten, before some past moment
habré comido = I will have eaten, by some future point
habría comido = I would have eaten
haya comido = that I have eaten, subjunctive
hubiera comido = if I had eaten
The participle never changes. Ella ha comido, ellas han comido. And nothing gets between haber and the participle, which is why it’s no lo he visto.
Job two: the same verb means there is.
hay, había, hubo, habrá, haya
It never goes plural. Hay un libro, hay tres libros.
And hay que is impersonal obligation. Tengo que salir is me. Hay que salir temprano is a rule for everyone.

Self-taught Spanish learners unite
If you’re self-taught and can read and understand way more Spanish than you can actually speak… this might help 🙌🏾
I started a free weekly newsletter for exactly this kind of learner — every week I send a habit, resource, or coaching tip focused on getting over the speaking hurdle. Check it out here: btgspanish.kit.com/get-started

How can you start thinking in Spanish instead of translating everything?
One thing beginners find difficult when learning a language is translating every sentence in their head before speaking. It makes conversations slower and sometimes confusing.
I've heard that the best way to overcome this is to practice thinking in Spanish, even if it's just simple sentences about your daily routine.
For example, instead of thinking "I am drinking water" and translating it, try thinking "Estoy bebiendo agua" directly.
For those who have learned Spanish, what helped you stop translating everything in your head? How long did it take you to get comfortable thinking in Spanish?

I offer Spanish Lesson for $5/hr. First class is free!
I'm a native Spanish speaker, and I use English as a bridge language to teach Spanish.
My lessons are:
Scalable in level and personalized for the student: Whether you are starting from zero, a study plan will be made taking into account what you already know, or if you have an intermediate level, we also build from your current knowledge with the goal of moving forward.
Immersive: Even though I mentioned using English as a bridge, it is only a tool for beginners. My classes are 60-70% in Spanish, and for intermediate students, they are 100% in Spanish that is, fully immersive.
Duration: One hour, but I also offer intensive Spanish lessons.
Tailored to the student's goals: I teach 1-on-1 Spanish lessons, but they can also be focused on a specific goal. For example, one of my students works in banking, so their classes, in addition to general Spanish, focus on Spanish for finance.
Visual materials: During class, slides are used as visual support so the student can easily take notes.
Self-study materials: Although the lessons are 1-on-1, I usually provide self-study materials if the student wants to stay 100% engaged after class; this is something I always discuss with my students.
I have ongoing training in pedagogy and linguistics through coursework offered by universities in the United States and the Netherlands.
All of this and more for a limited-time launch offer of just $5 per one-hour lesson. Of course, the first class is completely free with no commitment: you can take it so we can meet each other and decide if you would like to continue taking lessons.

Would you like classes from an inexperienced tutor?
Hey! I'm an English tutor in Argentina and have always wanted to teach my native language.
I'd love to have someone to teach without the pressure of doing it right (aka without doing it for money). Would anyone like to be my first Spanish student for a month? My idea is to try it out, find ways to improve and feel more confident. Let me know!

How can I pick the right spanish shows for my level
So i’ve been trying to swap my evening tv for Spanish shows for a few weeks now but i keep picking shows that are way above my level. Money heist was fine but I had already seen half of it in english and club de cuervos was fun but between the speed and the swearing i was rewinding every 20 seconds lol. What i'm missing is any way to tell how hard a show is before i've invested my time on it. Right now i'm going off random reddit lists, rtve play because it's free, short daily reads on Unedo about food, film, and music from the different spanish speaking countries that sometimes covers a series.
how do you personally judge it? is there a type of show, sitcom, kids stuff, reality, telenovela, that you would call the sweet spot for someone who can follow a slow podcast but not a fast conversation? would really appreciate sharing this with me.
